Sebanyak 8,000 unit pelindung muka mula dihantar ke Kelantan pada 16 April dan seramai 50 kakitangan terlibat dalam menghasilkan sebanyak 3,000 unit sehari
PROTON telah memulakan aktiviti penghasilan pelindung muka untuk barisan hadapan perubatan seiring dengan komitmen Syarikat bagi membantu memerangi penyebaran virus COVID-19 di Malaysia.
Kumpulan pertama iaitu sebanyak 8,000 unit pelindung muka akan dihantar pada 16 April ke hospital-hospital di Kelantan dan seterusnya ke negeri-negeri pantai Timur yang lain.
Kakitangan Proton menabur bakti dalam membantu membanteras penularan COVID-19, dengan aktiviti pemasangan pelindung muka oleh kakitangannya.
Proses bermula dengan membuat rekaan dan menguji prototaip serta mendapatkan maklum balas daripada pengguna untuk memastikan produk akhir memenuhi keperluan ditetapkan.
Pada masa yang sama, pasukan projek perlu mengenalpasti kawasan yang sesuai untuk menghasilkan peralatan tersebut secara selamat dan cekap bagi memenuhi protokol kesihatan Covid-19.
Seramai 50 orang kakitangan bekerjasama memasang peralatan tersebut dengan mengukur dan memotong pelbagai komponen yang diperlukan sebelum memasang produk akhir.
Dianggarkan 3,000 unit mampu dihasilkan dalam sehari, dan syarikat menjangkakan aktiviti ini akan mengambil masa kira-kira 20 hari untuk menghasilkan 60,000 unit pelindung muka seperti yang dijanjikan.
Sementara itu, Proton bertanggungjawab untuk memasang dan menyerahkan peralatan tersebut, syarikat telah turut dibantu komuniti pembekalnya yang ingin terlibat sama dalam usaha ini.
Salah satu sumbangan yang diterima adalah dari Pos Logistics Sdn Bhd, iaitu salah satu penyedia perkhidmatan logistik terbesar di Malaysia. Mereka menyumbang lebih daripada 2,000 kotak besar yang digunakan untuk membungkus pelindung muka tersebut dan
memudahkannya untuk dipindahkan.
Pembekal komponen automotif, HICOM-Teck See Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn Bhd juga antara pembekal lain yang menyokong inisiatif ini. Mereka telah menyumbang sebanyak 1500 kg polipropilena, salah satu komponen utama bagi bampar sebuah kereta, yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan bingkai pelindung muka tersebut.
Reka bentuk asal pelindung muka ini adalah sumbangan dari Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM). Kemudian, pereka di Proton Design membina bingkai peralatan ini berdasarkan maklum balas dari pengguna dan turut menambah slogan STAY STRONG! We will get through this!
“Proton sangat berbesar hati menerima maklum balas dari pelbagai pihak bagi projek pelindung muka ini.
Bilangan kakitangan yang secara sukarela ingin membantu juga memberangsangkan, walaupun mereka terpaksa mengambil risiko meninggalkan rumah mereka dan datang bekerja.
Berikutan itu, kami telah mengambil langkah berjaga-jaga untuk memastikan semua pekerja berada di dalam keadaan yang selamat dengan menyediakan PPE serta menetapkan jarak minimum antara satu sama lain.
“Pada masa yang sama, syarikat juga telah berkomunikasi dengan komuniti pembekal untuk mendapatkan penglibatan mereka dan sambutan yang diberikan begitu menggalakkan.

Khasiat madu kelulut serta pengambilannya sebagai makanan kesihatan tambahan sememangnya tidak disangkal lagi.
Kandungan antioksidan dan manfaat vitamin C yang terdapat pada madu kelulut juga baik untuk mengatasi flu dan demam termasuklah dalam mencegah wabak COVID-19.

Pengusaha madu kelulut, Dailami Zahari, 40, berkata kelebihan madu kelulut yang mengandungi khasiat tiga kali ganda berbanding madu biasa lebih berkesan walaupun sifatnya kurang pekat.
Menurutnya, sistem imun seseorang sebenarnya bergantung bagaimana individu tersebut menjaga kesihatannya, justeru salah satu cara untuk mengoptimumkan kekebalan tubuh adalah dengan mengambil makanan yang merupakan sumber antioksidan dan vitamin penting.
“Hanya 30 minit selepas diambil madu ini akan berada pada darah dalam tubuh kita. Ia pantas diserap oleh badan.
“Pengambilan madu kelulut setiap hari menjadikan seseorang tidak mudah letih kerana kandungan antioksidan lebih tinggi berbanding madu lebah biasa, sekali gus membantu mencegah sesuatu penyakit,” katanya yang mengusahakan ternakan lebah kelulut sejak kira-kira tiga tahun lalu di Kampung Rambai Tujuh, Kuala Kangsar, Perak.
Beliau yang juga anak kelahiran kampung tersebut kini memiliki 400 sarang kelulut yang diternak di kawasan seluas 15 ekar yang terletak di dalam kebun getah dan dusun buah-buahan.
Antara kelulut yang mampu menghasilkan madu berkualiti adalah daripada spesies troracica, itama, apicalis dan terminata yang menjadikan kawasan kebun dan dusun di situ sebagai habitat pembiakan koloninya.
Dailami berkata, setiap sarang boleh menghasilkan antara dua hingga tiga kilogram madu asli yang dituai menggunakan sejenis alat penyedut khas tanpa mengusik sarang induknya.
Menerusi syarikat miliknya, Rambai Emas Enterprise memasarkan sebanyak 50 kilogram (kg) madu kelulut 100 peratus asli dan tidak diproses setiap bulan kepada pelanggan yang terdiri daripada pelbagai lapisan termasuklah pembeli dari Singapura.
Lebih istimewa, beliau juga mengamalkan kaedah hanya menuai madu selepas menerima tempahan daripada pelanggan bagi menjaga kesegaran dan kualiti madu kelulut keluaran syarikatnya.
Selain jualan secara terus, Rambai Emas Enterprise turut bersedia membekalkan madu kelulut secara runcit dan borong kepada pengguna.

Four weeks into the MCO and counting, Netizens’ are divided on the extension period while
businesses are rushing to apply for benefits and approval to resume operations in this period.
The 4th edition of this study covers chatter surrounding the second MCO extension, business sectors allowed to resume operations, highlights essential industries’ performance, and top trending topics among Netizens during this period.
The announcement of a second MCO extension on 10th of April was not surprising to the
majority of the public. While Netizens are debating over the extension period, business owners are focused on the additional business sectors allowed to operate during the MCO.
The resumption of these business sectors are aimed to help sustain the country’s economy post Covid-19. However the application process is fraught with unanswered inquiries and complaints due to the lack of communications and preparations.

Kia Motors Corporation extends cover for vehicles with original manufacturer warranty that expires between February 1 and April 30, 2020
Kia Motors Corporation has announced the launch of the ‘Kia Promise’, a global warranty extension program for its vehicles.
The Kia Promise is designed to support Kia customers whose movements may be limited because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kia Promise covers 142 countries and all vehicles with original Kia warranties that
expiry between February 1 and April 30, 2020. The program extends the warranty of all
eligible vehicles to June 30, 2020.
Kia Motors believes that more than 500,000 customers worldwide could benefit from the Kia Promise warranty extension.
With many countries and businesses taking precautionary measures to counteract the
COVID-19 pandemic, the Kia Promise aims to help customers who may be unable to visit a
workshop during this time.
The program also helps customers who are not able to bring their car in for servicing.
