Taj Noteholders and Fung Retailing reach agreement to partner on Toys “R” Us Asia business
TOYS “R” Us Asia announced that the approximate 85% interest in Toys (Labuan) Holding Limited (the “Company”) will be acquired by the holders of its parent company TRU Taj LLC’s Senior Secured Notes (the “Taj Noteholders”).
The Taj Noteholders and Fung Retailing Limited (“Fung Retailing”), the owner of approximately 15% of the Company, have agreed to new partnership terms in a transaction which values the Company at approximately US$900 million.
As part of this transaction, Fung Retailing will acquire, at the transaction value, an incremental 6% of the Company from the Taj Noteholders, thereby increasing Fung Retailing’s ownership to approximately 21% of the Company, making it the largest shareholder in the Company.
This transaction facilitates the separation of the Asian business from its ultimate parent Toys “R” Us, Inc. and positions the Company well for an exciting new chapter of growth.
The Taj Noteholders includes several investment funds and financial institutions with extensive experience investing in and owning international businesses and retail companies.
A spokesperson for the Taj Noteholders commented, “This transaction is a significant step in separating the valuable and growing Toys “R” Us Asia operation from the rest of the business.
The Company’s growth prospects in Greater China, Japan and Southeast Asia are bright and we are excited about investing in and owning the Company in partnership with Fung Retailing.”

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) will be launching the new Mitsubishi Triton in the first quarter of 2019.
MITSUBISHI Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, held an exclusive media preview of the New Triton during the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018 (KLIMS) at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
“Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has been producing pick-ups for the past 40 years, since 1978. To date, over 4.7 million units have been built and are being used in some of the most extreme road conditions around the world.
In Malaysia, the Triton has found more than 70,000 proud owners since its launch in 2006,” said Tomoyuki Shinnishi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
He added “Our principal Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) in Japan recently launched a new global tagline called ‘Drive your Ambition’. It is a powerful statement of our commitment to the values and aspirations of its drivers.
The New Triton is developed based on the concept of ‘BEYOND TOUGH’ image and we believe it will impress customers with its tougher exterior, superior handling, as well as advanced safety features.”
The New Triton is imported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicle from MMC’s regional production hub in Thailand. The Malaysian market offers five variants of the New Triton with the following estimated prices starts from RM 100K to RM 140K in Peninsular Malaysia.

The New Triton’s front fascia features the latest iteration of Mitsubishi Motors Dynamic Shield design language with slim headlamps flanking the grille and fog lamps and indicators tucked into the corners.
The available colours are White Diamond, Black Mica, Sterling Silver and Graphite Grey Metallic.
The New Triton is powered by the award-winning 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine with Variable Valve Timing technology. Coupled with Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), it produces a strong 181 PS of power and 430 Nm of torque.
A new 6 speed auto transmission has also been added to improve the driving efficiency in the New Triton. Driven by a Super Select 4WD II with Off-road Mode, the New Triton delivers powerful and confident driving performance across all terrains.
The New Triton will also come with advanced safety features such as Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist (BSW with LCA) and Auto High Beam (AHB).
Depending on the variants, the New Triton is equipped with seven SRS airbags, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Active Stability with Traction Control (ASTC), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descend Control (HDC), Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) and Brake Override System and rest reminder functions for a complete peace-of-mind driving.
The safety of the Triton is further strengthened by a strong Mitsubishi Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction which is reinforced with super high tensile steel.
Malaysians will be able to get the first close-up view of the New Triton at a series of special displays at major towns and cities from 7 December 2018 to 20 January 2019.

PAMERAN di Pusat Pameran dan Dagangan Antarabangsa Malaysia (MITEC) di Kuala Lumpur, yang dibuka secara rasmi kepada orang ramai bermula 23 November sehingga 2 Disember dan semua pengunjung dijemput untuk melihat dengan lebih dekat Proton X70 ketika melawat ke booth PROTON.
Meskipun ini bukan kali pertama Proton X70 diperlihatkan kepada orang ramai, kesemua aktiviti yang diadakan sebelum ini adalah aktiviti pratonton tertutup bagi tetamu jemputan sahaja.
Oleh itu, ini merupakan kali pertama model ini akan dipamerkan dalam persekitaran orang ramai seperti KLIMS dan bagi pengunjung yang datang, ini adalah peluang mereka yang pertama untuk melihat dengan lebih dekat bahagian dalaman dan luaran model terbaru PROTON itu.

Sebagai contoh, model ‘half-cut’ turut dipamerkan untuk menunjukkan bahagian-bahagian kritikal di mana badan kereta tersebut telah diperkuatkan untuk menjadikannya lebih selamat sekiranya berlaku kemalangan.
Beberapa panel paparan skrin sentuh yang ada pada bahagian dalaman Proton X70 juga telah disediakan untuk menunjuk cara penggunaannya dan membolehkan pengunjung mencuba sistem arahan suara.
Untuk menambahkan lagi keterujaan pada paparan produknya, PROTON akan memberi peluang kepada para pengunjung KLIMS untuk merasai sendiri sistem bantuan tambahan pemandu yang ada pada Proton X70 tanpa perlu memandu uji model tersebut.
Ruangan Realiti Maya (VR) akan menunjukkan cara bagaimana sistem seperti Program Kestabilan Elektronik (ESP), Brek Kecemasan Berautonomi (AEB) dengan Amaran Perlanggaran Hadapan (FCW) dan Kawalan Pelayaran Adaptif (ACC).

AirAsia has appointed Spencer Lee as the CEO of BIG Loyalty Sdn Bhd, a company in which AirAsia Group Berhad has a majority stake and which owns and operates the AirAsia BIG Loyalty programme.
SPENCER Lee joined AirAsia in 2006 and took on various roles in marketing and the development of ancillary income, culminating in his previous role as Commercial Director of AirAsia Malaysia, where he spearheaded a number of projects across the Group, including the AirAsia BIG Loyalty programme.
He was most recently Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer of Redbeat Ventures, AirAsia’s digital ventures arm.
Lee is a member of the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and Malaysia Advertisers Association (MAA). Spencer is a Commerce graduate from Curtin University of Technology, Perth.

KETIKA kanak-kanak berada di taska atau sekolah di awal pagi, 10 anggota sukarelawan Perodua bergotong-royong membersih dan menghiaskan kawasan rumah, di samping membuat kolam (seni serbuk berwarna) di hadapan pintu utama.
Kehadiran maskot Perodua UFirst Ken menyebabkan kanak-kanak terbabit semua cukup teruja dan gembira apabila mereka pulang ke rumah.
Perodua turut menyumbang sebuah ketuhar industri serta bahan dan peralatan lain bernilai lebih RM5,000, sebagai kesinambungan kepada kelas membuat roti yang telah diaturkan oleh Perodua untuk Rumah Kanak-Kanak Shan awal tahun ini. Ini membuka peluang kepada mereka untuk mengkomersilkan bahan buatan sendiri.

“Rumah Kanak-Kanak Shan terdiri daripada 20 orang kanak-kanak yang berusia dari 5 hingga 15 tahun. Saya lihat potensi besar di kalangan mereka dan berharap bahawa mereka mampu menjana pendapatan sendiri melalui bantuan kami. Pemimpin dan usahawan Malaysia pada masa akan datang akan terlahir dari mana-mana sahaja. Kami berharap ianya di sini untuk mereka!” katanya.
Perodua juga menyumbang RM3,000 tunai kepada Rumah Kanak-Kanak Shan serta mengagihkan duit raya kepada setiap anak-anak dan penjaganya. Kanak-kanak kemudiannya menikmati minuman petang dan dihiburkan dengan aktiviti seni pasir.
“Deepavali menandakan kecerahan mengatasi kegelapan, juga harapan memenangi kekecewaan. Kami di Perodua berharap bahawa kami telah berjaya dalam membawa semangat itu kepada penghuni-penghuni Rumah Kanak-Kanak Shan yang tersayang. Kami berdoa bahawa mereka akan sentiasa dipenuhi kegembiraan dan keyakinan untuk masa hadapan,” kata Datuk (Dr) Aminar.
