AIRSCREAM UK (AIRSCREAM), a United Kingdom-based vape manufacturer with presence in more than 80 countries, today announced that it has successfully obtained SIRIM certifications for its globally popular vape devices, namely AirsPops ONE USE 3ML and 6ML, AirsPops Pro and AirsPops Pro Lite.

The company said that the MS SIRIM marking will be placed on its certified vape devices, spare parts and on the packaging of the devices to be easily visible to consumers.

“Obtaining the certification and label from SIRIM QAS International is a reflection of this commitment as well as our strict policy to comply to all rules and regulations enacted in countries where we operate in,” he added.

Following a federal move to gazette the Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking) of Electronic Cigarette Devices Order 2022 under the Trade Descriptions Act 2011, local manufacturers and importers of electronic cigarettes or vape devices are required to apply for SIRIM certification and labelling.

Ong said, “We believe that the SIRM certification, with its robust methodology and screening process, will help curtail unscrupulous manufacturers and importers from marketing and selling poor quality vape devices in Malaysia.”

“AIRSCREAM would like to urge our fellow industry participants in Malaysia, especially those who have not yet apply for the SIRIM certifications, to quickly have their products certified as it would help pave the way towards a more sustainable industry that can contribute positively towards economic growth, safeguard consumers and provide less harmful alternatives that can help people quit smoking cigarettes,” he added.

Globally, AIRSCREAM has carried out various initiatives to help smokers bring down their dependence on cigarettes or even eliminate its use.

In March 2024, AIRSCREAM had announced that it will be investing a total of RM100 million in the next five years for its operations in Malaysia. The operator of this block, Sapura OMV Upstream (Sarawak) Inc. (SapuraOMV) holds 40 percent participating interest, while the remaining 60 percent is equally shared by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) and Sarawak Shell Berhad (SSB).

The Jerun field was first discovered in 2015 by SapuraOMV, following the drilling of nine (9) exploration wells from 2014 to 2015. Capable of producing up to 550 million standard cubic feet per day (mmsfd), this project is poised to address the increasing global energy demand.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, today unveiled a new art campaign created by legendary French photographer Raymond Depardon and his son, director and photographer Simon Depardon.

The campaign, which is called “Olympic Games Instants Shared #withGalaxy,” is now live across the city of Paris and contains captivating imagery that offers a new perspective to the power of sport. It is one of many ways Samsung is helping to bring the spirit of the
Olympic and Paralympic Games to life in the host city as the countdown to Paris 2024 continues.

As a photographer and filmmaker, Raymond Depardon has captured some of the most iconic images of the century, including portraits of the athletes in Olympic competition between 1964 and 1980.

The new campaign, which was developed in collaboration between Samsung and the City of Paris, pays homage to Raymond’s renowned work and represents a passing of the torch — as Raymond’s iconic black-and-white, archival imagery is exhibited alongside new imagery from his son Simon, who focused his lens on some of the newest Olympic Games and Paralympic Games disciplines.

The series of images features Team Samsung Galaxy athletes; Sarah Bee (Breaking), Aurelien Giraud (Skateboarding), Mejdi Schalck (Sport Climbing) and Yvan Wouandji (Blind Football) and is currently being showcased at nine iconic Parisian landmarks and city sites including Rue du Louvre, Pont de la Concorde and Rue des Pyramides, until early September 2024.

“I was thrilled to participate in this project because it is the first time ever that my photos are being displayed alongside my father’s,” said Simon Depardon. “The artwork not only features four incredible French athletes playing their sports, but also I wanted to show each athlete’s human character by taking portraits of them at the same time,” Depardon added.

“The performance capabilities of the Galaxy S24 are outstanding, and opened up so many opportunities for us to create something that fits in artistically with the city.”

From June 24 through September 8, 2024, fans are invited to participate in the campaign by sharing messages of support for Team Samsung Galaxy via a QR code featured on each image.

The messages will be shown at Samsung’s Olympic™ rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125 and Village Plaza, Samsung’s athlete lounge within the Olympic and Paralympic Village, during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
