SAMSUNG ad continues to receive high praise from award shows like Cannes Lions, The Clio Awards and D&AD Awards, totaling 36 awards

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that it received thirteen awards including seven Gold Pencils, three Silver Pencils, three Bronze Pencils across visual effects, animation and cinematography for its ‘Ostrich’ advertisement in the Branded Entertainment category at The One Club Awards.

Produced by The One Club for Creativity, the global awards show is judged by top industry professionals and honors the best creative ideas that are setting new industry standards.

Samsung has been recognized in both the ADC Annual Awards 1, the oldest continuously running industry awards show in the world and The One Show 2 , one of the most prestigious awards competitions in advertising, design, interactive and branded entertainment.

The commercial, which has also won awards at Cannes Lions, the Clio Awards and the D&AD Awards, features an ostrich who learns to fly after donning a Samsung Gear VR headset and launching a virtual flight simulator.

The campaign taps into the basic human urge to push beyond what is normal and demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing products and services that allow people to break boundaries and do the incredible.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Is Rolls-Royce As It’s Never Seen Before

When Rolls-Royce announced three years ago that it would launch Cullinan, it did so in the knowledge that its customers around the world had asked it to build “The Rolls-Royce of SUVs”, with luxury, performance and usability not seen before in the SUV market.

MANY of these customers were younger, very successful high-net- worth individuals who are heavily engaged in the experience economy, and wanted a Rolls-Royce that would take them to the ends of the Earth in ultimate luxury.

Automotive mobility has always been a fast moving and dynamic business, with new concepts – such as SUVs – appearing with great regularity. But those new concepts need to be perfected in order to be adopted by those customers who will accept no compromise – the patrons of true luxury. Hence the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

“History set our precedent, and today Rolls-Royce answers its call to action,” comments
Müller-Ötvös. “Our answer to the visionaries, adventurers, explorers and those who believe in the supremacy of liberty is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.”

What is Cullinan?

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is Rolls-Royce as it’s never seen before. When Sir Henry Royce said, “Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it”, he could have had Cullinan in mind.

“We knew we had to offer our clients what they couldn’t find in the SUV market,” continues Müller-Ötvös. “They do not accept limitations or compromises in their lives. They are the new pioneers, and for them it’s about their sense of adventure and daring in how they live their experiences.

This approach to life demands a motor car that can go-anywhere in ultimate luxury and style – Rolls-Royce style. Hence Cullinan.”

It was clear that these new, younger and more adventurous customers wanted a Rolls-Royce that would take them completely off the beaten track and reward them with life’s most enriching experiences. What they didn’t want was a vehicle as ubiquitous as an SUV with compromises such as increased cabin noise due to the “two-box” formula; shared platforms that affect performance and comfort; the choice of being good either on-road or off-road; or a lower, more featureless SUV that blends in and becomes just another car.

“Cullinan is luxury in its purest form blended with perfect practicality and off-road capability,” comments Müller-Ötvös. “Effortless, Everywhere is not just the promise behind Cullinan. It’s the fact.”

Making luxury Effortless, Everywhere engendered an evolution in Rolls-Royce’s approach to creating an authentic Rolls-Royce SUV. The most obvious sign of this was the radical rear of Cullinan.

For the first time a Rolls-Royce has an opening tailgate, which it calls ‘The Clasp’. In a nod to the era when luggage was mounted on the exterior of the motor-car, so the occupants did not travel with their belongings, the rear profile of Cullinan is a two-part, ‘D-Back’ format, with the bustle denoting the place of the luggage. ‘The Clasp’ opens and closes in its two sections automatically at the touch of the key fob button.

The rear passenger compartment of Cullinan has been designed to offer the best seat in the house for the owner’s particular needs. Two rear configurations are offered – Lounge Seats or Individual Seats.

The Lounge Seat configuration is the more functional of the two options. With space for three passengers in the rear, it will likely be more attractive to families. The rear seats also fold down – a first for Rolls-Royce.

The seats fold electronically in a number of configurations by pressing the appropriate button in the boot or rear door pocket. One press sees each backrest effortlessly fold down, whist at the same time moving the headrests upwards to avoid making an imprint on the seat cushion.

Both seat backs can be folded completely, creating a flat load area or in a 2/3 and 1/3 split, increasing practicality even further. Rear passengers can still travel with a long load, or use the carpeted seat back as an occasional table on which to rest their precious personal items.

For those who intend to transport large items back from their adventures, the rear of Cullinan offers a large amount of space in different arrangements.

The rear compartment or boot area offers a standard 560 litres of space, growing to 600 with the parcel shelf removed. Furthermore, the base of the rear seats sit higher than the boot floor, so even with both rear seats folded, the items in the boot cannot slip forward and are safely contained, unlike in any other SUV.

But for those wishing to carry a long item back from their trip – whether it be a Mark Rothko from the Art Gallery of a newly discovered artefact from the latest archaeological dig – a loading length of 2245mm and load capacity of 1930 litres is accessed by electronically raising the boot floor to meet the seat base, allowing the item to slide through effortlessly.

Rolls-Royce’s investment in making the rear of Cullinan effortlessly and ultimately practical has the side benefit of offering a loading length longer than a Range Rover Vogue Extended Wheelbase. A very practical Rolls-Royce indeed.

Malaysia Airports Continues To Contribute In Grooming Young Sporting Talents

Schools vie for the Malaysia Airports Chairman’s Challenge Trophy in the Super Schools Rugby Fifteens 2018

COMING into its fifth year of championship, the Super Schools Rugby Fifteens saw participation from seven elite rugby playing  schools vying for the Malaysia Airports Chairman’s Challenge Trophy.

The championship finals between Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) and Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) will be held on 6 May 2018 at the Proton City Stadium, Tanjung Malim, Perak.

Malaysia Airports Managing Director, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said, “One of the pillars in our CSR framework focuses on Education and Leadership among Malaysian youths and one of the programmes is through sports.

We believe that sports is a healthy activity that provides good grounding for youths to build character and inculcate the right attitude towards achieving success, not only in sports but also in life.”

Badlisham added, “This is also part of our national contribution in enhancing our country’s sporting standards. Rugby can be a sport that has the potential to achieve the same level of success as what badminton and squash have brought to Malaysia. In fact, we are happy to see that several of the former students who used to play in this tournament are now playing at national level championships.”

The tournament  which kicked off on 29 April 2018 also saw participation from an additional 11 schools playing in the Ragbi Perdana League. According to Malaysia Airports general manager of corporate communications Nik Anis Nik Zakaria who was at the press conference held at Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Subang held this afternoon,  the winner of the Ragbi Perdana League will also have the opportunity to be invited to vie for the challenge trophy in the following year.

“We are happy to see increased interest and participation from more schools since we first started our sponsorship. Not only that, the tournament is now endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Malaysian Rugby Union,” she added.

Nik Anis also mentioned that Malaysia Airports has also sponsored other school sporting activities through its Airports@Sports programme such as their recent contribution to SK Subang for their rugby and archery sports development.

Other schools playing in the Super Schools Rugby Fifteens 2018 include Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR), Sekolah Dato’ Abd Razak (SDAR), Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah (SAS), Sek Men Sains Selangor, and Victoria Institution (VI).

Malaysia Airports Beri Sokongan Penuh Kepada Jabatan Imigresen

INISIATIF Malaysia Airports yang bakal memanfaatkan seramai 36,480 jemaah haji bagi tahun 2018 dilihat sebagai satu langkah yang amat proaktif terutama bagi pengurusan jemaah yang baru pertama kali menunaikan rukun Islam kelima itu.

Pengarah Urusan Malaysia Airports Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, “Kami amat menyambut baik pelaksanaan sistem pengurusan yang sistematik dan pantas ini. Musim haji merupakan antara musim tersibuk di lapangan terbang.

Bukan sahaja pengurusan kemudahan di lapangan terbang sahaja perlu diambil kira, malah pengurusan penumpang juga turut diutamakan. Sebagai pengendali lapangan terbang, kami turut berasa gembira kerana Malaysia terpilih sebagai negara pertama di dunia bakal menggunakan sistem Pra-Pelepasan Jemaah Haji seperti yang diumumkan”.

Ujar Badlisham lagi, menerusi inisiatif serta pelaksanaan sistem ini tidak lama lagi, KLIA bakal dilihat sebagai sebuah hab serantau yang dapat memberi pengalaman baru kepada para pengguna terutamanya kepada jemaah haji yang sudah berumur kerana bukan sahaja dapat memudahkan urusan mereka, malah memberikan keselesaan disamping menjimatkan masa.

Sebuah kawasan parkir jangka panjang (LTCP) serta perkhidmatan bas shuttle percuma turut disediakan oleh pihak Malaysia Airports sebagai salah satu persiapan menghadapi musim haji serta peningkatan bilangan pengguna di KLIA, disamping 2 minit masa menurunkan penumpang di bahu jalan masuk ke lapangan terbang.

Bagi Hazree Hashim dari Pesat Auto Sdn Bhd, beliau berpendapat, “Cawangan mereka adalah mengenai gaya hidup. Jika anda berada di Malaysia, anda akan dapat merasakan seperti berjalan masuk ke dalam pusat membeli-belah Pavilion, dengan pencahayaan yang digunakan, aura, malah kualiti perabot yang digunakan di cawangan itu.

Anda seolah-olah ada di tempat yang mewah ketika berada di cawangan itu. Apa yang kami boleh perkatakan ialah ianya mewah tetapi cukup sederhana.”

Bagi Jeffrey Ngu Heng Hing, daripada Ngu’s Motor Service Sdn Bhd, “Kereta ini menawarkan pelbagai teknologi, pilihan warna yang menarik, reka bentuk papan pemuka yang sederhana, dan model kereta ini dikenali sebagai 01, yang merupakan strategi pemasaran yang hebat, sesuatu yang mudah untuk diingati dan senang untuk dikaitkan dengan pelbagai perkara, seperti dalam nombor 01.”

“Selain itu juga, kereta tersebut turut dilengkapi dengan waranti seumur hidup, oleh itu ini akan meningkatkan keyakinan pelanggan untuk memiliki kereta ini yang akan memudahkan mereka.

Sebagai permulaan, ini akan terbukti sebagai satu SUV yang hebat,” kata Jeffrey Ngu.
“Selepas berkunjung ke cawangan ini, saya yakin untuk mencontohi apa yang saya lihat. Di ruangan sudut cawangan ini, kami dapat melihat terdapat butiran maklumat pelanggan yang mempamerkan rekod penghantaran yang boleh dilihat oleh orang ramai.

Terdapat juga nama-nama Penasihat Jualan, para pelanggan, serta jadual penghantaran kereta mereka. Ini adalah perkara yang baharu, dan saya ingin melakukan perkara yang sama di cawangan saya.

Maklumat-maklumat seperti itu dapat memberikan gambaran yang jelas tentang apa yang berlaku kepada setiap kereta pelanggan, serta titik rujukan yang cepat dan berguna,” kata Azizulmu’min Mohd Hussain Malim dari Rohamas Corporation Sdn Bhd.

Bagi Ha Yih Wei pula dari Juara Mulia Motor Sdn Bhd, “Ia adalah satu pengalaman yang berbeza ketika berkunjung ke cawangan Lynk & Co, sama ada dari segi rasa dan rupa. Bahagian dalamannya juga terdapat gambar yang dilekatkan pada  dinding yang mempamerkan sekumpulan wanita muda dan lelaki dengan kata-kata atau slogan mengenai gaya hidup.

Terdapat satu slogan yang menggambarkan kata-kata seperti “Lahir keseorangan tetapi tidak kesepian” – bayangkan ini adalah cawangan menjual kereta, tetapi berapa ramai yang dapat menjiwai mesej ini.

Mesej yang ringkas tetapi penuh makna terutama mereka yang ingin memiliki kereta dan menonjol di kalangan orang ramai. Pengalaman ini adalah benar-benar istimewa bagi kami.
