Service in Progress at a Hyundai Authorised Service Centre
Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) urges customers to service their vehicles exclusively at authorised Hyundai service centres to ensure that parts used in their vehicles are genuine.
AN ongoing service promotion at all Hyundai authorised service centres now offers up to 20 percent discount on selected genuine parts until 31 July 2018.
The service promotion which started on 1 June 2018 also offers 10 percent discount on labour costs, a mystery gift for customers who spend RM500 and above on service, as well as a 15 percent discount for a fuel system cleaner.

Exclusively for Grand Starex Royale owners are discounts of up to 50 percent on genuine parts and two mystery gifts for a spend of RM500 and above on service.
According to Dennis Ho, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors (Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan), service promotions such as this are meant to encourage vehicle owners to service their vehicles at authorised service centres.
Hyundai service personnel are then able to examine the condition of their vehicles and authenticate the parts used if the vehicles have been serviced at unauthorised centres.
“Continuous education on the safety hazards of using counterfeit parts is important. Customers can be assured that authorised service centres use only genuine parts and can offer customers a peace of mind when it comes to the safety of their vehicles,” said Ho.
This statement was released following news reports on the sale of fake Hyundai and Kia parts by unauthorised auto part dealers.
The fake parts that were seized were fast moving parts, which include oil filters, air filters, brake pads and spark plugs. There were also reports that the fake auto parts were sold at the same price as the originals.
Ho stressed that customers need to be wary of such products and that they should not to risk their safety by using parts that may not be genuine.
By sending their cars to authorised Hyundai service centres, customers are also assured of the best quality of service by trained and certified Hyundai personnel. Hyundai customers will also enjoy free gifts from time to time, including the privilege to participate in customer events.

MODEL generasi kelima Nissan Serena S-Hybrid yang dipasang sepenuhnya (CKD) di negara ini tampil menerusi dua varian iaitu Highway Star dan spesifikasi tertinggi, Premium Highway Star.

Sebenarnya, sambutan tempahan terhadap model Nissan Serena S-Hybrid ini banyak dibantu oleh pelaksanaan cukai barangan dan perkhidmatan (GST) sifar mulai 1 Jun lalu berikutan harga baharu bagi semua barisannya ditawarkan lebih kompetetif termasuk beberapa insentif menarik disediakan kepada pembeli.

Ciri ‘Kerusi kapten’ pada barisan kedua
Bagaimanapun, masalah yang timbul ialah mencari sebuah MPV yang benar-benar ‘berbaloi’ dimiliki dengan pelaburan yang dibelanjakan sama ada melihat kepada rekabentuknya, jenama pengeluar ataupun kapasiti kuasa enjinnya.
Ketika ini, pasaran Malaysia menawarkan pelbagai jenis MPV sama ada keluaran Jepun, Korea Selatan mahupun Eropah namun yang paling banyak mendominasi pasaran tentu sekali MPV buatan Jepun mungkin disebabkan tanda harga yang mampu dimiliki.
Model MPV Nissan Serena baharu ini yang memperoleh status EEV (Energy Efficient Vehicle) mencatatkan penjimatan bahan api yang terbaik dalam kelasnya iaitu 14.2 km/l iaitu 13 peratus peningkatan penjimatan bahan api berbanding model terdahulu.
Enjin berkuasa dan menjimatkan
Varian Highway Star yang sebelum ini ditawarkan pada harga RM135,500, kini menjadi RM127,874.84. Manakala Premium Highway Star yang pada mulanya diletakkan harga RM147,500, telah diturunkan menjadi RM139,195.59. Kesemua ini adalah harga atas jalan tanpa insurans.
Dalam sesi pandu uji ringkas Prebiu.com bersama varian Premium Highway Star bewarna dua tona iaitu Cashmere Gold dan Imperial Umber ini masih menggunakan jenis enjin yang sama dengan model C26 Serena iaitu enjin MR20DD 2.0 liter suntikan-terus CVTC berkembar empat silinder petrol namun dilakukan beberapa penambahbaikan kepada enjin.
Padanan enjin ini mampu menghamburkan kuasa sehingga 150 PS pada 6,000 rpm dan tork 200 Nm pada 4,400 rpm. Penggunaan Dua Arm Tensioner (DAT) berfungsi melegakan sedikit tekanan ke atas arm belt untuk mengurangkan kehilangan kuasa, mengurangkan geseran dan meningkatkan penjimatan bahan api.
Rekabentuk menerima sedikit sentuhan daripada model MPV ‘Nissan Elgrand’
Bagaimanapun, padanan transmisi Xtronic CVT yang diberikan penambahbaikan ditambah dengan motor ECO (1.9 kW) untuk mengawal ciri Idling Stop, menjadikan pergerakan enjin lebih lancar dan efisyen.
Apa yang menarik mengenai enjin MPV ini ialah kuasa elektrik untuk sistem pancitan bahan api enjin dan sistem elektrikal lain tidak dibekalkan oleh alternator, sebaliknya dari bateri utama dan bateri tambahan sekali gus memberikan kecekapan dan penjimatan penggunaan bahan api.
Meskipun, saiz kerangka MPV ini agak besar namun berat baharunya telah dikurangkan sebanyak 12 kilogram berbanding model terdahulu membolehkan Nissan Serena S-Hybrid ini mampu memecut lebih 150 km/j di lebuh raya tanpa masalah.
Cermin belakang boleh dibuka separuh
Bagaimanapun, sebagaimana prinsip asas sebuah kenderaan, jika dipandu dalam kelajuan yang tinggi tentu sekali akan mempengaruhi penggunaan tahap bahan api. MPV ini sebenarnya lebih praktikal dipandu di laluan bandar kerana ciri enjin henti/mula mampu menjimatkan bahan api.
Sebenarnya, meskipun bersaiz besar untuk mengendalikan MPV ini yang memiliki ukuran 4,770mm panjang, ketinggian 1,865mm dan lebar 1,740mm, adalah mudah kerana MPV ini didatangkan dengan Kamera Paparan Pandangan Sekeliling 360-darjah (I-AVM) dengan Pengesan Objek Bergerak Pintar (I-MOD), di mana skrin paparannya terletak di skrin atas.

Justeru, jumlah kapasiti penumpang untuk MPV ini hanya mampu memuatkan tujuh orang berbanding lapan sebelum ini sekali gus memudahkan penumpang belakang keluar masuk khususnya penumpang barisan ketiga.
Melihat kepada papan pemukanya, kluster instrumennya kelihatan kemas dengan padanan skrin sesentuh Clarion 6.75-inci di bahagian tengah yang berfungsi sebagai pemain MP3 dan radio. Turut tersedia sambungan melalui Apple Carplay dan Android Auto.
Ciri lain ialah butang tekan mula, kemasukan tanpa kunci, kawalan suhu zon-tunggal untuk hadapan dan barisan kedua, kawalan kelajuan, tirai matahari untuk tingkap barisan kedua, perakam video DVR, 10 tempat letak cawan, tempat duduk balutan fabrik dengan fungsi larasan manual bagi pemandu, penumpang hadapan dan juga di barisan kedua.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia delivered 6,790 vehicles in 1H 2018, a 15 per cent increase over 1H 2017 while a market share of 2.5 per cent in total for 1H 2018 records an improvement of 0.2 per cent from 1H 2017.
Thus far this year, MBM’s locally-produced limousines namely the Mercedes-Benz C-, E-, and S-Class, collectively recorded a total of 4,322 units sold.
MBM’s range of premium compact cars comprising the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class, GLA-Class and CLA-Class recorded 996 units sold. These two segments recorded increases of 18 per cent and 20 per cent respectively compared to the same period last year.
The Premium SUV range by Mercedes-Benz remained a growth driver recording 1,291 units sold, which translated into a 4 per cent increase compared to Q1 of 2017.
The eminent brand-shapers in the form of the Mercedes-Benz Dream Cars collection also recorded a notable achievement with 181 units sold, marking a 1 per cent increase compared to 1H 2017.

Dell Brings Tech to New Heights with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp”
DELL is proud to announce it has teamed up with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp” film showing in cinemas beginning 4th July.
With similar fan bases, the two companies will come together to bring excitement around technology into pop culture. From Ant-Man’s and The Wasp’s suits to Hank Pym’s Lab, technology plays a lead role throughout the film.
“What’s great about this partnership is that it allows our on-screen tech to become a bit more tangible to viewers,” said Mindy Hamilton, Marvel’s Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships & Marketing. We might not be able to replicate Hank Pym’s advancements quite yet, but we hope that the film inspires people to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible just like our heroes do.”
Dell technology helps bring visual effects to life
This exciting collaboration extends behind the camera, where Dell hardware plays a vital role in creating the visual effects in the film.
Marvel Studios enlisted VFX vendors, several of which utilised a breadth of Dell technologies, including Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, and Dell Precision workstations, as the core infrastructure to provide the immense computing power and storage capacity necessary for visual effects designers to bring the movie’s characters and places to life.
Among others, artists at the VFX studio DNEG, who worked on Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” rely on Dell Precision workstations for front-end operations.
Dell’s Precision line is a leader in the industry, allowing creators to edit and create in new storytelling methods. In the company’s Vancouver studio alone, more than 300 Dell Precision workstations are used to create compelling effects.
Imagine an adrenaline-fueled car chase through San Francisco, moments of Ant-Man and The Wasp shrinking, or an intricate lab scene featuring Ghost phasing in and out of walls – technologies from Dell help make these ideas reality.

Technology plays an integral role in Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” so it’s fitting that fans will be able to see the new Dell G5 15, a powerful gaming laptop that enables great in game-performance and stunning visuals, and the award-winning XPS 13, on the big screen when the film hits theaters.
In the film, Dell devices make several appearances in settings like Hank Pym’s lab and at the X-CON security offices.

Marvel Studios fans can also catch a glimpse of Dell’s new G5 Gaming Laptop, along with both Ant-Man and The Wasp, in Dell’s newest TV spot, airing on networks in the U.S. and Canada.

Record number of Dinos flock to Maranello Celebration of 50th anniversary of road debut on Saturday
MORE than 150 Dinos and over 300 customers from all over the world flocked to Maranello and Ferrari on Saturday 30th June for an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the road debut of the first production car.
The Dino, one of the world’s best-loved and biggest selling Ferraris, had a rather long gestation. Fitted with a six-cylinder engine designed by Enzo Ferrari’s son, from whom it has taken its name, the saloon was first presented as a prototype at the Paris Motor Show in October 1965.
A year later it went on display at the Turin Motor Show but was only officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show the following November.
Thus, the car’s 50th anniversary should really have been marked in 2017, but any commemorative event would have been overshadowed by the Ferrari 70th anniversary celebrations. Hence the decision to celebrate the half-century of another special event, the road debut of the first model in March 1968.
On Saturday, the cars arrived in the forecourt of the Maranello Museum and then headed to the Fiorano track, where they cars paraded all together.
At midday, the Dinos drove into the factory where the customers were given a special tour. Then at the end of the afternoon a memorable day closed with the traditional drive, one car at a time, under the arch of the historical entrance on Via Abetone Inferiore. This spectacular parade attracted many fans of this much-loved Ferrari.
