The first was the Most Tech-Savvy Real Estate Firm of 2019, one of the newest categories this year which JLL Property Services won for the first time. The award presented was to recognise the ongoing efforts by the firm to leverage on modern technology and innovation to digitise and promote the firm’s offerings.
JLL Property Services also won The Commercial Firm of the Year 2019 Award, as a recognition for the firm’s excellence in Sales & Rentals under Commercial Properties.
Both awards were presented by the guest of honor, Dr Alauddin Sidal, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government and newly appointed Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) President, Lim Boon Ping to YY Lau, Country Head of JLL Property Services accompanied by fellow team members, KL Eng, Janice Chin and James Short.

PERTANDINGAN Bicara Berirama (Coral Speaking) ini adalah anjuran pertama kali oleh Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Selangor (JPNS) dengan kerjasama PKNS Real Estate Sdn Bhd (PREC) dan dikelolakan oleh Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Hulu Langat.
Sebanyak 10 buah sekolah terdiri daripada 300 orang pelajar dan 100 orang guru pembimbing dari Hulu Langat, Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Klang, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Petaling Utama dan Petaling Perdana berentap bagi merebut tempat pertama untuk mewakili Selangor ke Peringkat Kebangsaan yang akan diadakan di Pahang.
Pemangku Pengurus Pusat PREC, Syahril Mohd Rashid dalam ucapan perasmian dan penyampaian hadiah pertandingan berkata, program pendidikan seperti ini penting kerana ia merupakan salah satu cabang dalam menjayakan aktiviti tanggungjawab sosial korporat PREC.

Perodua telah berjaya mengurangkan masa menunggu bagi Aruz antara 1 bulan dan 1.5 bulan bergantung kepada model berbanding kira-kira antara 2 bulan dan 2.5 bulan sebelumnya berikutan peningkatan dari segi pengeluaran.
TEMPOH ini dipendekkan disebabkan oleh peningkatan pengeluaran dan Perodua menganggarkan pencapaian jualan Januari hingga Julai mencapai 140,900 unit untuk semua model, yang mana setanding dengan 140,900 unit dari tempoh sama tahun lepas.
Perodua menjual Aruz menjual 17,989 unit antara Januari dan Julai tahun ini.
“Dari sudut perbandingan, bulan Jun, Julai dan Ogos tahun lalu menyaksikan ‘cuti cukai’ yang terhasil daripada keputusan penghapusan Cukai Barang dan Perkhidmatan atau GST oleh kerajaan.
“Meskipun begitu, kami sangat beruntung kerana prestasi kami jauh lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan kesan semasa ‘cuti cukai’,” kata Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Perodua, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Beliau berkata, Perodua akan mengekalkan sasaran jualannya sebanyak 235,000 unit menjelang akhir tahun ini, peningkatan sebanyak 3.4% daripada 227,234 unit yang dijual pada 2018.
Pada 17 Julai, Perodua telah mengumumkan bahawa ia akan meningkatkan sasaran jualannya kepada 235,000 unit untuk 2019, peningkatan 4,000 daripada sasarannya 231,000 yang diumumkan pada Januari lalu.
Peningkatan sasaran jualan ini adalah untuk memenuhi permintaan yang tinggi untuk semua model semasanya. Jumlah sasaran pengeluaran untuk 2019 telah ditingkatkan kepada 249,000 unit, penambahan 2.9% daripada sasaran sebelumnya iaitu sebanyak 242,000 unit.
Kedua-dua loji pembuatan beroperasi pada kapasiti 97%, yang mana Perodua mencatat stabil operasi pada tahap optimum; ini meningkat daripada angka tahun lepas sebanyak 96.2% bagi PMSB dan 94.6% bagi PGMSB, sementara kecacatan per unit (DPU) di kedua-dua loji telah mencatatkan penurunan yang stabil.
Honda Malaysia melancarkan kempen kemas kini produk membabitkan 7,050 unit CR-V (2018) bagi menukar punat tekan pada tombol gear sebagai langkah keselamatan.

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group becomes the first port in Southeast Asia to welcome Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) latest and largest container vessel as part of its maiden voyage in the South East Asia region.
ANOTHER major milestone was also transpired from the historic calling of MSC Gulsun when PTP became the first port in the world to hit back to back record for highest utilisation of a container vessel when the vessel left the port with the record load of 19,574 twenty-foot-equivalents (TEUs), surpassing previous record load of 19,284 TEUs achieved by Maersk Monaco set by PTP in June this year.
With 23,756 TEUs capacity, the 400m-long containership is 61.5m wide. MSC Gulsun is on its maiden voyage for the Asia – Europe (SILK/ NEU2) service loop of the 2M alliance network.
The vessel, which was previously berthed at Yantian, China is scheduled to make the next port of call at Port of Algeciras, Spain.

The sixth LEKAS Highway Ride, Malaysia’s No 1 closed highway night cycling challenge, drew close to 4,700 local and international cycling enthusiasts.
THE event, which is a collaboration between RHB Banking Group and Lebuhraya Kajang-Seremban Sdn Bhd (LEKAS), a subsidiary of IJM Corporation Berhad’s Toll Division, was held on 27 July 2019 at the Kajang Selatan Toll Plaza, LEKAS E21.
The event was flagged off by Dato’ Dr Syed Omar Sharifuddin Syed Ikhsan, Secretary General, Ministry of Works, Tan Sri Azlan Zainol, Chairman of RHB Banking Group and Dato’ Soam Heng Choon, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of IJM Corporation Berhad.
This year’s RHB LEKAS Highway Ride attracted cycling enthusiasts from 26 countries across the world, including United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Italy, France, Bulgaria, South Africa, Russia, Australia, Indonesia, China, India, Brunei, Cambodia, Singapore, Japan, among others.
This ride attracted 4,641 cyclists, and saw 8% increased in participation from international cyclists and 14% in female cyclists taking part in the 78km and 120 km ride.

LEKAS, a dual three-lane highway which connects Kajang, Selangor to Seremban, Negeri Sembilan had ensured a full road closure for the event, and a fully LED-lit highway circuit, allowing cyclists to enjoy a smooth and safe ride. Both the 120km and 78 km race routes started and ended at Kajang Selatan Toll Plaza.

The competitive rides for the cycling event featured the 120km and the 78km routes. Categories for the 78km route were the ‘Open’ (men/women aged 22 years and above), ‘Veteran’ (men aged 45 years and above), and the ‘Young Adults’ (boys/girls between the ages of 17 and 21 years).
There was a special fun ride for teenagers (ages 13 to 16 years) and children (ages 10 to 12 years). These categories were fully sponsored by IJM, together with the first 100 participants of the Young Adult category, aiming to nurture new talents and promote cycling as a sport for all.
A special appreciation to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysia Highway Authority (LLM) and Ministry of Works (KKR) for their efforts and dedication towards the success of the event.
