Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) hari ini mengumumkan panggilan semula sukarela ke atas model-model yang dihasilkan di antara tahun 2011 hingga 2015 untuk membaiki akumulator tekanan hidraulik di dalam kotak gear klac berkembar 7-kelajuan yang rosak di peringkat pengeluaran.
Sebanyak 12,732 kenderaan Volkswagen dikenal pasti perlu menjalani pemeriksaan di
bawah kempen panggilan semula ini.
Model-model yang terjejas ialah Beetle, Cross Touran, Golf (Mk6 dan Mk7), Jetta, Passat (B7), Passat CC, Polo (6R) dan Scirocco. Panggilan semula ini tidak melibatkan model-model yang dikeluarkan dari 2016 ke atas.
Dalam beberapa kes tertentu, kegagalan komponen tersebut boleh menyebabkan tekanan hilang, sekali gus mengganggu pengalihan kuasa di antara enjin dan kotak gear.

The spark of electrification ignites Maserati’s future: with the new Ghibli Hybrid, the Trident Brand enters the world of electrification.
The new Ghibli Hybrid represents one of the most ambitious projects for Maserati, which after the announcement of the new engine for the MC20 super sports car now sets the seal on another step forward towards the brand’s new Era.
The choice to introduce the hybrid technology on the Ghibli sedan is no coincidence: this model, with over 100,000 units produced since its launch in 2013, perfectly embodies the Modena-based manufacturer’s DNA.
In fact, the challenge facing Maserati was to enter the world of electrification without altering the brand’s core philosophy and values. The result? The creation of the best possible hybrid.
What’s more, Ghibli Hybrid will retain the unmistakable sound that has always distinguished every Maserati.
The arrival of the new Ghibli Hybrid thus expands the Maserati range, which is now even more competitive and responsive to the demands of the market.
Design
Ghibli Hybrid is immediately recognisable, thanks in part to the new design of both exterior and interior.
The common denominator of the restyling, developed by the Centro Stile Maserati, is the blue colour, chosen to identify all cars with hybrid technology and the new world they represent.
On the exterior, the blue colour characterises the three iconic side air ducts, the brake calipers and the thunderbolt in the oval that encloses the Trident on the rear pillar. The same blue colour reappears inside the car, in particular on the embroidered seams of the seats.
The new Ghibli Hybrid also introduces new stylistic contents, starting from the new front grille, with bars redesigned to represent a tuning fork, a musical device that emits a sound of extreme purity, and which also evokes the Trident symbol itself.
There are significant changes at the rear of the car, where the light clusters have been
completely restyled, with a boomerang-like profile inspired by the 3200 GT and the Alfieri concept car.
Mild Hybrid
In perfect harmony with its DNA, Maserati has chosen a hybrid solution focused primarily on improving performance, while also reducing fuel consumption and cutting emissions.
The hybrid technology exploits kinetic energy the car accumulates when in motion, recovering it and transforming it into electricity during deceleration and braking, and storing it in a battery.
The innovative powertrain, the outcome of in-depth engineering development work by the technicians and engineers of the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena, combines an internal combustion engine (4 cylinders, turbo, displacement of 2.0 l) with a 48 volt alternator and an additional electric supercharger (e-Booster), supported by a battery.
This solution is unique in its segment, and is the first in a new generation of powertrains, with the perfect trade-off between performance, efficiency and driving pleasure.
The battery is mounted in the rear of the car, with benefits in terms of improved weight distribution. This version weighs about 80 kg less than the Diesel.
Thanks to maximum power output of 330 hp and torque of 450 Nm delivered from just 1,500 rpm, the new Ghibli Hybrid’s performance data are very impressive: top speed of 255 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
Ghibli Hybrid occupants will still revel in the unmistakable sound that characterises all Maserati models, thanks to the optimised exhaust, which includes specially designed resonators.
Connectivity
Ghibli Hybrid also marks the debut of the new Maserati Connect program, which enables a constant connection with the car: the information exchange continues when on the move, to improve the services offered to the driver.
As well as updating the software packages, the system performs checks on the car and monitors the Safety Security services in emergencies.
The Maserati Intelligent Assistant multimedia system is latest-generation, based on digital inputs from Android Automotive, software that delivers an innovative User Experience fully customisable to the driver’s personal preferences.
The multimedia system’s HD screen, with new graphics, more user-friendly and without surrounds, is increased in size from 8”4 to 10”1. A new instrument panel with digital devices and new graphics is also introduced.

When viewing media in the Gallery and looking to share it with friends, users can now harness the Quick Share option to see immediately which users are nearby. Just by tapping the icon, users can then select one or more friends to seamlessly share their media with.
Music Share lets friends connect to a user’s Bluetooth speaker directly via the user’s smartphone. By swiping down on the Quick Panel and tapping on the Music Share icon, users can easily activate or deactivate this innovative feature to instantly enjoy good music with their friends.
Users can also head to Settings>Connections>Bluetooth>Advanced to toggle Music Share on or off.
Let Your Device Do the Work
Galaxy A51 and A71 users are already able to do more of what they love with their smartphones, but this update brings even more Keyboard and Gallery functionalities to users that are designed to make their day-to-day interactions with their smartphones as convenient as possible.
When typing in the search bar in the app tray, accessible with just a simple swipe up on the home screen, users will now be presented with a range of predicted Apps, Settings, Quick Panel and Contacts search results before they even finish typing their query, and can then explore even more results by hitting the ‘See more results’ button.
Enhanced keyboard functionalities also give users more freedom when typing; users can now translate text directly from the keyboard tray and easily undo and redo their most recent keyboard action with an intuitive swipe left or right with two fingers on the keyboard.

Rekabentuk bampar juga diubah sepenuhnya apabila tidak lagi direka secara melintang manakala kombinasi warna dwi-tona pada bawah bampar menyerlahkan gaya sporty.
Sesuai dengan hashtag Bezza #LEBIHPADU, rekaannya nampak lebih mantap dengan padanan lampu depan yang kini diberikan ciri LED untuk semua varian dan mengekalkan posisi lampu siang (DRL) di atas, sebaris dengan panel krom pada gril.
Jika dilihat pada bahagian sisi pula, skirt sisi dwi-tona kini ditawarkan untuk semua varian, manakala perumah lampu kabus hadapan direka lebih bersegi dan memberikan kelebihan ketika dipandu pada waktu malam yang berkabus atau hujan.
Rekabentuk lampu belakang masih sama, tetapi bampar belakang diberikan kemasan reflektor besar dan kelihatan seakan bampar yang dipadankan pada model Axia facelift dan Myvi.
Bezza (2020) menampilkan rekabentuk set rim aloi dwi-tona baharu, iaitu 15 inci untuk varian X dan AV, manakala 14 inci untuk varian G. Posisi antena sirip jerung masih di belakang tengah bumbung kereta.
Selain itu, bagi versi baharu ini, cermin sisi dipadankan bersama signal membelok untuk semua varian, manakala varian AV pula, cermin sisinya boleh dilipat secara automatik.
Rekaan Dalaman
Melangkah masuk ke ruang dalaman pula, sedikit perubahan dilakukan pada bahagian papan pemuka yang dilihat lebih elegan dan kemas.
Bagi model Bezza 1.3AV yang dipandu uji ini, terdapat punat kawalan audio pada sebelah kiri stereng disediakan bagi memudahkan pemandu memberi tumpuan penuh di jalan raya.
Kekemasan perak juga melingkari papan pemuka hadapan dengan kelihatan lebih ketara berhampiran papan skrin infotainment yang hadir dengan skrin sentuh dan ciri mirrorlink untuk telefon pintar.
Bahagian kabin juga menampilkan panel meter kombi baharu dengan kerusi semi-bucket kulit manakala model AV ini dilengkapi sistem penghidup tanpa kunci (keyless), dan sensor sisi depan untuk varian X dan AV.
Bagi keselesaan pemandu, sistem multimedia bagi varian ini hadir dengan navigasi dan sambungan Smart Link untuk peranti Android. Pada masa sama, semua varian diberikan ciri sensor undur, manakala varian AV ditambahkan ciri kamera undur.
Melihat kepada rekaan kerusi pula, penulis difahamkan, Perodua telah mengubah sedikit tahap kedudukan kerusi penumpang belakang yang sebelum ini agak tegak kepada kedudukan yang lebih selesa.
Terdapat juga cangkuk ‘teh tarik’ pada kedua-dua kerusi hadapan manakala kunci keselamatan untuk beg tangan wanita disediakan pada sisi kerusi penumpang hadapan.
Bagi mereka yang bimbang kehabisan bateri telefon, terdapat lubang pengecas USB (siap dengan slot) disediakan untuk penumpang belakang dan pemandu dihadapan.
Sebagai semua kereta sedan mampu milik, ciri pengecas USB dianggap sudah memadai meskipun tiada corong pendingin hawa disediakan kepada penumpang belakang.
Enjin
Tiada sebarang perubahan besar pada transmisi kuasa Bezza (2020) yang masih mempertaruhkan enjin 1KR-VE 1.0L VVT-i (67 hp, 91Nm) dan enjin 1NR-VE 1.3L Dual VVT-i (94hp, 121Nm) bersama pilihan kotak gear manual 5-kelajuan atau automatik 4-kelajuan.
Enjin Bezza yang mendapat pengiktirafan sebagai Kenderaan Jimat Tenaga (EEV) dengan ciri Eco Idle itu mampu mencapai tahap penggunaan minyak sejauh 22 kilometer (km) bagi setiap liter bagi transmisi automatik manakala 22.8 km bagi model manual.
Maka tidak hairanlah ketika kereta ini dikerah di lebuh raya, ia masih mampu mengekalkan tahap penggunaan minyak yang efisyen.
Berdasarkan pada bacaan elektronik minyak pada panel meter Bezza ini, ketika kereta ini diambil daripada ibu pejabat Perodua, dengan tangki penuh, kereta ini mampu bergerak sejauh 531 km.
Ciri Keselamatan
Perodua Bezza (2020) buat pertama kalinya dipadankan dengan ciri keselamatan terkini iaitu Bantuan Pemanduan Selamat atau A.S.A 2.0 yang membantu mengurangkan kemalangan pada kelajuan perlahan dan sederhana.
Ia adalah ciri yang sama dipadankan pada model SUV Aruz malah lebih maju daripada Myvi yang menggunakan versi 1.0.
Ciri itu bertindak balas menerusi kamera stereo yang dipasang pada cermin depan bagi mengesan sebarang halangan. Ia mempunyai 4 fungsi bagi memberi amaran kepada pemandu termasuk mengaktifkan brek pra-pelanggaran apabila sistem mengesan risiko pelanggaran dengan kenderaan atau pejalan kaki.
Kelebihan pada ciri A.S.A 2.0 ini ialah ciri brek kecemasan autonomous (AEB) yang bertindak membrek secara automatik pada tahap berkesan sehingga kelajuan 80 km/j.
Ciri itu juga boleh mengesan pejalan kaki dalam kelajuan hingga 50 km/j. Ciri ini cukup membantu sekiranya anda sedang berada dikawasan perumahan padat apabila secara tiba-tiba tidak perasan kanak-kanak atau pejalan kaki sedang melintas jalan.

Perodua Bezza 2020 1.0G dijual pada harga RM36,580, manakala varian yang paling tinggi dan lengkap, Perodua Bezza 2020 1.3AV pula dijual pada harga RM49,980. Dua lagi baki varian pula terdiri daripada yang paling asas, iaitu 1.0G manual yang dijual pada harga RM34,580, sementara versi 1.3X pula diberikan tanda harga sebanyak RM43,980.
Bagaimanapun, harga kesemua varian ini berubah dengan sedikit murah disebabkan penangguhan cukai jualan ke atas semua jenis kenderaan yang dipasang sepenuhnya (CKD) di negara ini susulan pengumuman kerajaan bagi merancakkan semula sektor automotif yang terjejas teruk akibat COVID-19.
Kesimpulan
Model sedan Bezza bukan sahaja menawarkan ruang yang selesa, penjimatan bahan api dan ciri keselamatan termaju, ia juga menyediakan satu tanda harga yang mampu milik khususnya mereka yang sedang mencari-cari sebuah kenderaan untuk kegunaan keluarga.
Maka tidak hairanlah, lambakan model Bezza dijalan raya menjadi pilihan pemandu-pemandu perkhidmatan e-hailing seperti Grab atau MyCar malah individu yang turut menyediakan perkhidmatan penghantaran barangan.
Bezza sesuai digunakan sebagai kenderaan harian ke tempat kerja, menghantar anak ke sekolah, kegunaan pelajar kolej atau universiti disebabkan, praktikal, kos pemilikan dan operasinya yang rendah.
Jika dibandingkan harganya dengan model terdekat Proton Saga Premium misalnya, model Bezza 1.3AV lebih mahal kira-kira RM10,000, satu tanda harga yang agak jauh bagi sebuah kereta dalam segmen A.
Namun, jika dilihat kepada ciri yang ditawarkan khususnya Bantuan Pemanduan Selamat (ASA), ia dianggap berbaloi kerana ‘nyawa lebih penting dan tidak mampu dibeli dengan wang ringgit’. Ia adalah satu sistem termaju yang banyak ditawarkan oleh kebanyakan kereta-kereta terkini dipasaran.
Sistem A.S.A 2.0
Selain ciri A.S.A 2.0, Bezza juga dilengkapi ciri keselamatan tambahan iaitu sistem kawalan cengkaman (TRC), sebagai tambahan kepada sistem sedia ada lain seperti ABS, EBD dan VSC selain Bantuan Daki Bukit (HSA).
Bagi keselamatan pemandu, ciri anti regang turut disediakan pada tingkap sebelah pemandu yang bertindak balas secara automatik menghentikan sistem operasi tingkap apabila mengesan sesuatu halangan.
Bagaimanapun, rekaan penyaman udara kereta ini mungkin boleh diperbaiki pada masa depan khususnya pada bahagian sisi agar lebih besar kerana kita sedia maklum mengenai keadaan cuaca negara ini yang panas.

In keeping with social distancing requirements, AmBank’s BizCONFERENCE series is going digital with a total of nine fully online and free sessions featuring panellists comprising prominent business leaders, SME owners as well as subject matter experts.
These sessions will involve the sharing of knowledge and advice to SMEs in relation to these key areas. The experts will also guide SMEs on how to leverage on various opportunities to revive their businesses and stay relevant given the present circumstances.
In conjunction with the BizCONFERENCE series, the bank will also be launching AmBank BizRACE Season 3.

Registration for this year’s business competition will be open from 17 July 2020 until 2 September 2020 and will comprise three tracks, with 100 businesses chosen per track.

“BUY” call on Permaju? Well, right now not many analysts are covering Permaju but it will soon be under the radar of some analysts and fund managers.
In fact a fund manager whom I met recently said he has been approached by some investors who are talking about the potential in Permaju Industries Bhd (Permaju). It seems they are looking for good value stocks to invest in and Permaju came up.
Permaju has made some very interesting developments lately but before I go into that, let’s talk about the company’s recent contract win.
The company, which is raising cash via a rights issue for expansion has won a RM1.2 billion construction contract from a reputable developer.
The contract is to build more than 7,000 units of apartments over six to seven years in the Seri Kembangan/Serdang area. This was reported by New Straits Times (NST), which also said the whole project will generate about RM2.4 billion in gross development value.
There was no mention of how many towers might there be in the development but the tallest structure is over 50 floors. Permaju will undertake the contract on a design and build structure.
While this isn’t enough to whet investor appetite, lets talk about the other developments within the company this past three months.
Permaju is involved in the trading of motor vehicles, timber plantation, construction, and property development and has been looking for new business to diversify its earnings.
On April 7, Permaju said it is looking into bottling and distributing Penaclo, a Hong Kong firm’s sanitiser product, for the Southeast Asian market amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On April 28, Permaju inked a memorandum of understanding with a local firm to sell the company’s air purification products to its customers in the automotive sector, citing exponential demand growth for the product.
Last month it told Bursa Malaysia that it has incorporated a company named Permaju Glove Sdn Bhd (PGSB) to venture into the glove manufacturing business.
The intended principal activity of PGSB is to manufacture, distribute, buy, sell and generally deal in rubber goods for industrial and commercial purposes and other related goods, wares and merchandise of every nature and description, it said.
So why not invest in this counter which is seriously undervalued and has huge potential to expand. The stock is one of the cheapest and most undervalued stocks on Bursa if you look at their potential earnings and asset size.
Soon enough you will hear a local or foreign fund or investor looking at Permaju or has invested in the company. Buy when the stock is cheap and sell when you have gained more than 10 per cent or 30 per cent.
But if you think the stock will double or triple in price soon, then keep the stock as a long term investment.
