Char kuey teow, makanan yang tidak asing lagi bagi masyarakat tempatan malah sering menjadi pilihan pengguna jika dijual sama ada di pasar malam, gerai atau restoran.
Namun, Mohd. Nazaruddin Hakim, 23, dia memilih pasar malam menjual makanan itu kerana pelanggan boleh melihat cara memasaknya di hadapan mereka.

Menurut Mohd. Nazaruddin, dia mula mempelajari memasak char kuey teow itu sejak zaman remaja apabila mengikut ahli keluarganya yang berniaga di pasar malam.
Katanya, bermula dengan membantu sehingga diberi peluang memasak makanan itu, dia kini cekap dan mahir menyediakan char kuey teow itu selari dengan selera pelanggan.
“Char kuey teow ini perlu digoreng diatas api yang betul-betul panas dengan campuran kicap, sos, cili, udang, kerang, telur, taugeh dan kucai.
“Lebih enak jika dimasak dalam kuantiti kecil. Kalau dimasak secara banyak nanti rasanya jadi lain,” katanya ketika ditemui di sini baru-baru ini.
Menurutnya, setiap hari dia memasak kira-kira 120 pinggan char kuey teow yang dijual RM5 sepinggan dan perniagaaannya dijalankan di pasar-pasar malam sekitar daerah ini. – UTUSAN ONLINE
Ahli Dewan Undangan (ADUN) Sulaman, Datuk Hajiji Mohd. Noor dikatakan antara enam bekas wakil rakyat UMNO Sabah yang bakal menyertai Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), sebulan selepas parti dipengerusikan Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad itu mengumumkan hasrat untuk melebarkan sayapnya ke Negeri Di Bawah Bayu tersebut.
Keenam-enam mereka dikatakan bakal menerima kad keahlian Bersatu daripada Dr. Mahathir sendiri dalam satu majlis di Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana (YKP), di sini namun majlis berkenaan ditunda esok kerana Perdana Menteri memutuskan untuk ke Pasir Gudang, Johor.
Selain Hajiji, ADUN Karanaan, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun serta empat ahli Parlimen iaitu Datuk Zakaria Edris (Libaran), Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee (Beluran), Datuk Azizah Mohd. Dun (Beaufort) dan Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri (Kudat), akan menjadi kumpulan pertama wakil rakyat menyertai Bersatu.
“Ini merupakan satu perkembangan yang baik kepada rakyat Sabah kerana mereka kini mempunyai pilihan untuk satu platform politik dan ia adalah di peringkat negeri,” kata satu sumber kepada portal Free Malaysia Today seperti dilaporkan hari ini.
Sumber itu menambah, baki bekas wakil rakyat UMNO Sabah akan menyertai Bersatu pada 6 April ketika pelancaran parti berkenaan di Kota Kinabalu.
UMNO Sabah pada Disember lalu menyaksikan hampir keseluruhan kepimpinannya bertindak meninggalkan parti itu dengan diketuai oleh Hajiji yang ketika itu merupakan Pengerusinya.
Bulan lalu, Dr. Mahathir pula mengumumkan bahawa Bersatu akan melebarkan sayapnya di Sabah tidak lama lagi bagi melengkapkan tiga lagi parti Pakatan Harapan (PH) sedia ada di negeri itu.
Dr. Mahathir berkata, keputusan itu dibuat dengan mengambil kira keperluan rakyat Sabah yang ingin menyertai Bersatu selain Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).
Namun, katanya, pihaknya menetapkan syarat penting iaitu pemohon mesti keluar UMNO dan bukan ahli dalam mana-mana parti PH, menjadi ahli bebas dalam tempoh yang lama dan latar belakang pemohon yang akan ditapis terlebih dahulu. – UTUSAN ONLINE
Penyanyi rock legenda, Datuk Awie nekad menjual sendiri tiket Konsert Laksamana Metal 2019 Dua Generasi Wings X Bunkface bagi mengelak ditipu pihak ketiga.
Awie atau nama lengkapnya, Ahmad Azhar Osman, berkata tiket konsert yang berlangsung di Dewan Merdeka, Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra (PWTC) pada 4 Mei depan itu akan dijual secara manual menerusi kelab peminat mereka, Sayap-Sayap Wings sebagai ejen yang dilantik.
“Kami pernah ditipu apabila persembahan dianjurkan penuh dengan penonton, tetapi ketika pengiraan dibuat, ejen memaklumkan hampir separuh tiket tidak terjual.
“Kejadian yang sama juga berlaku ketika menjayakan satu lagi konsert di ibu negara, beberapa tahun lalu. Kali ini, penganjur bermain tarik tali dalam soal bayaran dan memberikan pelbagai alasan.
“Hanya selepas diberi kata dua, tidak sampai seminggu, akhirnya baki bayaran dijelaskan. Itu belum termasuk ada yang mencetak tiket palsu dan menjual dengan harga yang lebih murah, berbanding tiket asal.
“Tidak mahu insiden sama berulang, kami ambil keputusan jual tiket sendiri dengan bantuan kelab peminat,” katanya kepada BH Online.
Sebagai langkah berjaga-jaga, Awie yang juga vokalis kumpulan Wings berkata, tiket konsert itu turut dilengkapi ciri keselamatan.
“Pembeli akan diberikan resit yang dilengkapi maklumat acara dan boleh ditebus di kaunter khas, empat hari sebelum konsert bermula. Penonton juga akan dibekalkan dengan gelang khas sebagai pas masuk,” katanya.
Dianjurkan Awie Entertainment, Awie berkata, konsert dua jam itu adalah antara siri persembahan yang dirancang sempena sambutan ulang tahun ke-35 penubuhan Wings.

Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, hari ini menggesa semua Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Pakatan Harapan (PH) dan pembangkang supaya berhenti bermain politik kerana ia tidak membawa sebarang faedah kepada rakyat di negeri itu.
“Saya merayu kepada semua orang, pihak media, ADUN dari Pakatan Harapan, ADUN dari UMNO dan PAS, mari kita sama-sama berhenti bercakap mengenai perkara ini dan tumpukan kepada memberi perkhidmatan terbaik kepada rakyat.
“ADUN PAS dan UMNO juga ada tanggungjawab mereka selepas dipilih dan saya sebagai Menteri Besar Perak bukan Menteri Besar PH semata-mata, kepada mereka dulu yang undi UMNO dan PAS, saya juga ada tanggungjawab untuk memberi perkhidmatan kepada mereka,” katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian pada sidang media selepas menyaksikan pemeteraian Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) antara Tourism Perak dan Perak Transit berhubung perkhidmatan bas `Hop On Hop Off’ di pejabatnya di sini, hari ini.
Ahmad Faizal mengulas mesej yang viral dalam media sosial mendakwa gabungan UMNO dan PAS Perak sudah memiliki sokongan 31 ADUN yang sudah menandatangani akuan bersumpah, untuk mengambil alih kerajaan negeri.
Mesej itu mendakwa akuan bersumpah itu kini sudah berada pada Sultan Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah dan kerajaan PH Perak akan tumbang pada bila-bila masa, selain ADUN Sungai Manik, Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin, yang `melompat’ ke PH akan melompat kembali kepada UMNO dan menjadi Menteri Besar Perak yang baharu.
Zainol Fadzi, yang juga Penasihat Menteri Besar, bagaimanapun sudah menafikan dakwaan itu dan bertegas terus bersama kerajaan PH.
Ahmad Faizal berkata beliau juga mempunyai tanggungjawab untuk bekerjasama dengan ADUN PAS dan UMNO sekiranya mereka mahu bersama-sama memberi perkhidmatan kepada rakyat.
“Jadi, cerita hendak ubah Menteri Besar, tukar kerajaan ke, kita simpan jauh-jauh supaya kita tumpu kepada tanggungjawab hakiki sekarang.
“Cerita ini memang seronok hendak main di media sosial tetapi tidak membawa apa-apa keuntungan kepada usaha untuk membangunkan negeri kita dan memberi perkhidmatan kepada rakyat.
“Jadi, kerja tidak membangun ini kita jangan buat. Sebagai pemimpin, kita patut ajak dan sungguh-sungguh tolong supaya hentikan bermain politik, kita buat kerja, sekarang masa untuk buat kerja,” katanya.
Untuk rekod, UMNO mempunyai 25 kerusi dalam DUN Perak, PAS tiga ADUN manakala PH memiliki 31 kerusi selepas dua bekas wakil rakyat Barisan Nasional (BN) menyokong Ahmad Faizal dilantik sebagai Menteri Besar. — BH ONLINE

The 10 th anniversary of Samsung’s Galaxy devices was celebrated enthusiastically last week, with crowds consisting of participants, partners, and bystanders looking on at Sky Avenue, Genting Highlands.
THE celebration was made even more significant, as Samsung officially launched its latest flagship device, the Galaxy S10, in Malaysia.
One week later, and Malaysians could not get any more excited to get their hands on the 10 th Galaxy S device, forming long queues before the doors to the roadshows were even opened.
Taking place in the main city of Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru, buyers flocked to the Galaxy S10 roadshows to get their hands on Samsung’s new flagship, packaged in irresistible and exclusive deals.
The first day of the roadshow saw throngs of fans becoming proud owners of the new Galaxy S10 and bringing home complementary Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Buds worth up to RM1,079.
Ho Luow Shuen, a 22-year-old law student at Brickfields Asia College, revealed that it was the perfect time to get the new Samsung flagship, as her previous phone had broken down on the S10’s launch day.
