The New Ferrari Roma: La Nuova Dolce Vita

Ferrari’s new V8 2+ coupé makes its Malaysian debut. An elegant and contemporary take on classic Ferrari style

Naza Italia, official importer and distributor of the Ferrari brand in Malaysia, has revealed a grand new entry in the Malaysian market – the Ferrari Roma.

Exemplifying the concept of the Nuova Dolce Vita (the new sweet life), the Ferrari Roma is a symbol of luxury and timeless elegance. Its signature Italian styling presents a contemporary reinterpretation of the carefree lifestyle of mid-twentieth century Rome, from which it takes its evocative name, Roma.

The new mid-front engined V8 2+ coupé will be available for private viewing (by appointment) until 29 th June 2020.

“The Ferrari Roma evokes a sense of nostalgia with its classical styling and elegant silhouette – a tribute to the foundational Ferraris and sweet life of Italy’s fashionable
and carefree capital city during the 1950s and ‘60s.

This stunning coupé presents timeless elegance and urban sophistication whilst also emerging as the pinnacle of performance in its category. We’re delighted to introduce this graceful addition to the local market,” said Dato’ Nik Hamdam Nik Hassan, Group CEO, Automotive Group, Naza Corporation Holdings Sdn Bhd.

As a pure GT (grand tourer), the Ferrari Roma is characterised by clean and symbiotic forms. Its harmonious proportions and elegantly balanced volumes are very much in line with the Ferrari mid-front-engined grand touring tradition, inspired by the iconic 250 GT Berlinetta lusso and 250 GT 2+2.

It embodies an extremely modern design language which underlines its authentic, refined styling. At the same time, its sleek lines retain the sporty vocation shared by all Ferraris.

Timeless and sublimely refined, from a technical point of view the Ferrari Roma introduces a series of unparalleled features that put it at the top of its segment in terms of performance and driving enjoyment.

POWERTRAIN

The Ferrari Roma’s 620 cv engine belongs to the V8 turbo family voted International Engine of the Year for four years in a row.

The main innovations on this version of the Ferrari V8 are new cam profiles, a speed sensor which measures the turbine revolutions and allows the maximum revs per minute to be increased by 5,000 rpm, and the introduction of the Gasoline Particulate Filter to comply with the strictest Euro 6D anti-pollution standards.

Ferrari engineers worked hard to optimize the GPF, a closed matrix filter which traps particulate matter produced during thermal engine combustion, thus guaranteeing that it would not compromise driving pleasure.

The car’s new 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox is more compact and 6 kg lighter than its 7-speed predecessor.

As well as reducing fuel consumption and emissions, shifts are faster and smoother thanks to the use of low-viscosity oil and a dry sump configuration to minimise fluid-dynamic efficiency losses, which makes the car even more responsive on the open road, but also especially comfortable in town and during stop & start driving situations.

The gearbox is based on a dual-clutch oil bath architecture and is derived from the new 8-speed gearbox introduced in the SF90 Stradale.

The main modifications made with respect to the latter are longer gear ratios and the introduction of a reverse gear (which is not used in the SF90 Stradale gearbox as the electric motor is used for this).

The new clutch module is 20% smaller but delivers 35% more torque than that of the previous 7-speed. The transmission software strategy has been evolved thanks to a more powerful ECU and better integration with the engine management software.

This has made the shifts quicker, smoother and more consistent. Like all other turbocharged Ferraris in the range, the Ferrari Roma delivers almost instantaneous throttle response (in line with the Company’s zero turbo lag concept) thanks to its flat-plane crankshaft, more compact in size with lower rotating masses to improve fluid-dynamics; compact turbines which have a lower moment of inertia; the twin-scroll technology that increases the pressure of the exhaust pulses for maximum power; and the single-piece cast exhaust manifold with equal length pipes to optimise pressure waves in the turbine and reduce losses.

The Ferrari Roma boasts Variable Boost Management, a control software developed by Ferrari that adjusts torque delivery to suit the gear selected, delivering increasingly powerful pick-up as revs rise, whilst optimising fuel consumption.

As the car goes up through the gears the amount of torque delivered by the engine increases all the way up to 760 Nm in 7th and 8th gear.

This has allowed Ferrari to use longer gear ratios in the higher gears, which helps keep fuel consumption and emissions down, while adopting a steeper torque curve through the rev range in the lower gears for a feeling of smooth, consistent pick-up.

By tradition, every single Ferrari engine has its own particular soundtrack that makes it unique. The Ferrari Roma is no exception to that rule.

To achieve this goal the geometry of the entire exhaust has been redesigned thanks to the elimination of the two rear silencers, which significantly reduces backpressure in the tailpipes; a new geometry for the by-pass valves, machined to an oval shape which reduces exhaust backpressure and improves sound quality; and the proportional continuous and progressive by-pass valve control, depending on the driving situation.

VEHICLE DYNAMICS

The Ferrari Roma’s dynamic development was focused on delivering superior driving pleasure and comfort thanks to the low vehicle weight and to the introduction of the latest evolution of the Side Slip Control.

The Ferrari Roma’s chassis benefits from the technology developed by Ferrari for its new generation models; bodyshell and chassis have been redesigned to incorporate the latest weight reduction and advanced production technologies.

In fact, 70% of its components are entirely new. The mid-front-engined 2+ Ferrari Roma has the best weight/power ratio in its segment (2.37 kg/cv), which enhances handling dynamics and responsiveness.

The Ferrari Roma embraces the Side Slip Control 6.0 concept (a first on a Ferrari GT car), which incorporates an algorithm that delivers a precise estimate of sideslip to the on-board control systems.

The SSC 6.0 integrates systems such as the E-Diff, F1-Trac, SCM-E Frs and Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, the latter debuting in the Race position on the Ferrari Roma. The aim of the 5-position manettino – Wet, Comfort, Sport, Race, ESC-Off – is to make the Ferrari Roma’s handling and grip more accessible which, together with the car’s basic mechanical set-up, makes the Roma extremely entertaining to drive.

Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer is a lateral dynamic control system which gently adjusts brake pressure at the calliper on one or more wheels depending on the situation. On the Ferrari Roma it is available solely in the Race setting of the manettino.

FDE is not a stability control system; indeed, it flanks the traditional ESC to make the sideslip dynamics smoother, more predictable and controllable. This supports the whole
target of the Race position itself, which is driving pleasure and fun behind the wheel.

Ferrari has also introduced its optional ADAS (SAE Level 1) systems: Adaptive Cruise Control – which can be commanded directly from the steering wheel for faster, safer interaction – Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure warning with Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Surround View Camera.

The Matrix LED optional headlight system is designed to improve road visibility by using high beams without dazzling either drivers of cars in front or oncoming. When the system detects another vehicle in its light range, it selectively and automatically turns off the area of the beam that would dazzle the other driver, thereby creating a cone of shadow.

If the system detects a high number of other vehicles, it may completely dim the lights and then only turn the high beams back on either partly or completely when the road is free. If the car is on a motorway or a ring road the system can avoid dazzling cars coming in the opposite direction.

When it encounters reflective road signs, the system can also reduce the intensity of the individual LEDs that create the area illuminated by the headlights, to make driving more comfortable.

Another of the Matrix LED headlights’ interesting features is that they can adapt the area illuminated by the low beams to suit the driving context.

AERODYNAMICS

To guarantee best-in-class aerodynamic performance whilst still retaining the Ferrari Roma’s stylistic purity of the bloodline, Maranello engineers developed several leading-edge technologies, most notably a mobile rear spoiler integrated into the rear screen designed to retain the car’s formal elegance when retracted and guarantee the downforce essential for the car’s extraordinary performance by automatically deploying at high speeds.

The integration of highly technical features, aimed at obtaining sports car-type downforce, with the car’s design concept was made possible as the Ferrari Aerodynamics department and Styling Centre worked hand in glove on a daily basis.

The Ferrari Roma generates 95 kg more downforce at 250 km/h than the Ferrari’s other 2+ model, the Portofino, thanks to vortex generators on the front underbody and active aerodynamics at the rear.

The former were given the task of very efficiently generating downforce on the front axle with a negligible increase in drag, while the electrically activated mobile spoiler produces downforce at the rear to optimally balance the car.

Thanks to a special mechanism, the rear spoiler can deploy into three different positions: Low Drag, Medium Downforce, and High Downforce. In LD mode, the mobile element is flush with the rear screen, allowing air to flow over it and making it invisible to the flow. When deployed to its maximum height (HD), the mobile element creates a 135 degree angle with the surface of the rear screen, thus generating around 95 kg of downforce at 250 km/h yet increasing drag by a mere 4%.

In medium downforce mode (MD), the mobile element generates around 30% of maximum
downforce with an increase in drag of under 1%.

The mechanism is activated by an electric motor in relation to speed and longitudinal and lateral acceleration. In low speed situations, when downforce has only a modest impact on the car’s performance, the spoiler automatically goes into LD position.

This configuration is maintained until the car hits a speed of 100 km/h. Over 300 km/h, the spoiler is always in MD mode because in such conditions it is preferable to have a more balanced car, in part because of the minimal impact on drag.

In speed ranges in which downforce plays a pivotal role in performance, the spoiler is in MD position and its movement depends on the car’s longitudinal and lateral acceleration. The position of the mobile spoiler is not selected manually.

Its activation threshold value is variable and linked to the manettino position. This choice
was made because of the desire to harmonise the integration of downforce generation with the vehicle dynamics controls.

In high performance handling or braking situations, the mobile element moves to HD configuration, generating maximum downforce and making the car aerodynamically
balanced.

DESIGN

EXTERIOR

The Ferrari Roma’s design took inspiration from the concept of sporty elegance celebrated in the most legendary grand touring Ferraris of the 1960s, front-engined cars with simple yet elegant forms and a 2+ fastback coupé design.

The Ferrari Roma shares many of these characteristics and embodies an extremely modern
design language; its pure, refined styling and perfect proportions cleverly conceal the
car’s power and sportiness.

Ultra-sleek lines sweep back from the front bonnet and the sober, spare front of the car creates an overhanging shark nose effect. The wide front bonnet and sinuous wings flow into one another, in line with Ferrari’s traditional styling cues.

The designers sought to preserve the minimalist elegance of the car’s forms by removing
any vents or superfluous decorations; for instance, engine cooling is guaranteed by surfaces locally perforated only where strictly necessary, creating a new interpretation of the grille concept.

In addition, the car was designed without the Scuderia Ferrari side shields, reflecting the approach taken with the road cars of the 1950s. The two linear full LED headlights, which lend the front of the car a distinctive character, are traversed by a horizontal light strip that brings a sense of tension to the car, in a nod to the iconic Ferrari Monza SPs.

The leitmotif of the entire Ferrari Roma design is its purity, as evidenced by the active rear spoiler integrated into the rear screen. The tail of the car is very modern; technological developments made it possible to reduce the dimensions of the taillight assemblies, resulting in a minimalist form.

The twin taillights look like gems set into the volume while linear light strips create a dialogue with the nolder, generating a sort of continuous virtual line. A compact diffuser that incorporates the fences and the exhausts completes the rear of the car.

INTERIOR

A new architectural concept for volumes and forms was developed for the Ferrari Roma’s cabin. The idea was to create two separate spaces or cells, one each for driver and passenger, in an evolution of the Dual Cockpit concept introduced on other cars in the range.

The strikingly innovative look of this dual cockpit was achieved by extending the philosophy applied to the dash to the entire cabin. A cleverly balanced combination of elegance and sportiness brings a sense of exceptional refinement and unique character to the interior, thanks to a spare, modern design language that underscores the formal purity of both lines and volumes.

Thus, the cabin is defined by elements that develop organically and as one around the whole concept of space and its perception.

Unlike the Prancing Horse’s sports cars, which are typically more driver-oriented, the Ferrari Roma’s cabin has an almost symmetrical structure which produces a more organic distribution of both spaces and functional elements.

In fact, the passenger will feel very involved in the driving experience, almost like a co-pilot. In line with this integrated architecture approach, forms have been crafted to create a sculptural volume in which there is a sense of textural continuity between all the various cabin elements.

Created by paring back the volumes and underscored by piping along their edges, the two cockpits are cocooned in a wraparound volume and extend from the dashboard all the way back to the rear seats, organically incorporating the dash, doors, rear bench and tunnel.

The Ferrari Roma’s F1 controls have been set into the central console in a modern metal plate which references an equally iconic feature from the past: the classic gear lever gate. This element is angled to make it easier for the driver to reach and see.

The second a driver or passenger sits in the Ferrari Roma they are instantly aware of a feeling of modern yet iconic luxury, combined with the use of the most exclusive materials, not least full-grain Frau® leather, Alcantara®, chromed aluminium and carbon-fibre.

The result is a distinctive car with a design that means the Ferrari Roma effortlessly meets the tastes of the most sophisticated clients. All of this makes the Ferrari Roma perfect for those looking for a car with an iconic and timeless design, capable of delivering unique driving experiences.

The Prancing Horse’s new V8 2+ coupé embodies, beyond any doubt, the concept of “La Nuova Dolce Vita”.

The look and feel of the cabin was driven by the complete redesign of the HMI, which marks a major leap forward starting from the new Ferrari range steering wheel designed using the “Eyes on the road, hands on the wheel” philosophy.

The digital instrument cluster is protected by an elegant binnacle, which extends out naturally from the dash. The instrumentation is now entirely digital with all the screens going completely black when the car is not running, lending the cabin a very minimalist
look.

But once the Engine Start button on the steering wheel is pushed, a “ceremony” of sorts begins that sees all the digital components gradually springing to life until the whole cockpit is aglow.

The instrument cluster comprises a single 16” HD screen that is curved to make it easier to read. In the default screen, the navigation and audio screens surround the large circular rev counter.

The screen’s dimensions mean that there is huge flexibility in terms of personalising the displays, which are very easy to navigate using the steering wheel controls. For example, it is possible to select a full screen version of the navigation map for ease of use.

The new steering wheel introduces a series of multi-touch controls that allow the driver to control any aspect of the car without ever taking their hands off the wheel.

Traditional controls include the 5-position manettino, headlights, windscreen wipers and indicators. The new haptic controls include a very practical touchpad on the right-hand spoke of the steering wheel which allows the driver to navigate the central cluster screens, while voice and Adaptive Cruise Control are on the left.

The extremely intuitive and easy-to-use new 8.4” HD central display, set between the two cockpits, incorporates the other infotainment, sat-nav and climate control functions.

The passenger’s experience reaches a new level with the optional 8.8” colour Full HD touchscreen which not only displays the car’s performance figures and status, but can also be used to interact with its on-board system selecting music, viewing satnav information and managing air conditioning functions.

So essentially, the passenger becomes a co-driver.

How Designers Have Made One UI’s Usability Even Better For Galaxy Users

Unlike in the past when cellphones had physical buttons and a limited number of features,
smartphones now offer a wide range of functions that we access by interacting with our devices’ touchscreens.

However, using the same component that serves as the device’s viewing medium for the primary input tool can sometimes present difficulties for users.

This is where the device’s user interface (UI) comes into play, with the experience of the users in interacting with it referred to as the user experience (UX).

In 2018, Samsung introduced an improved version of its standard user interface and software overlay called ‘One UI’.

As well as working to make them intuitive, consistent, and effective, UX designers try to base user interface interactions on the way we use physical objects in the wider world to promote familiarity.

For example, users turn a digital page in an e-book just like they would a physical page, or slide their cards up in the Samsung Pay app in a way that mimics how they would remove a card from their wallet.

But what do UX designers do when there is no way to base interactions on real-world actions?

Samsung Newsroom sat down with the designers of One UI to find out.

An Interface to Help You Stay on Task

The concept of One UI started with the idea to try and help the busy users of today stay focused by simplifying their interactions with their smartphones.

One UI designer Soeyoun Yim explained that the process of designing the interface was undertaken based on the concept of ‘everyday simplicity’, saying that, “One UI was designed to help users focus on important tasks by eliminating distractions.”

Now, One UI has been further developed into ‘One UI 2’, which was unveiled at the end of last year.

This upgraded interface incorporates the icons from One UI in new styles and configurations, and includes revamped colors and movements.

In addition, One UI 2 makes the icons more conspicuous with distinct color tones and motions, for instance when the ‘settings’ icon trembles to let users know that an update is underway.

‘Simplicity’ – to Help You Focus on What Matters

Simplicity was the number one priority for the designers when developing One UI 2. To that end, the pop-up screens that appear at the top and bottom of the screen were made more compact and simplistic to keep users from getting distracted while making use of features.

The camera app has also been simplified to ensure that the basic operation of the app isn’t impeded, and prevent users from getting distracted while they’re taking their picture.

Taehee Hwang, the UX designer responsible for the camera app, outlined how this makes the user experience more straightforward. “The basic photo and video modes can be accessed at the bottom of the screen, while special modes such as the Food and Night modes can be accessed by selecting or swiping through to ‘More’,” she related.

“This simplifies what is displayed on the screen so that users can concentrate on taking their picture.”

‘Comfort’ – So Your Eyes and Fingers Can Take It Easy

Making user interactions more comfortable and facilitating one-handed use were also at the fore of the development of One UI 2.

Whereas One UI designated the top and bottom sections of the screen as the ‘viewing’ and ‘interaction’ areas respectively, One UI 2 allows the majority of tasks to be completed within the lower area of the screen.

Moreover, for actions that require interaction in the top part of the screen, unnecessary finger movements were minimized to improve comfort and convenience.

The same principles were applied to the keyboard, making it possible for users to perform other tasks while keeping their fingers within the keyboard area.

For example, by long-pressing the space bar, users can now control the position of the cursor from within the keyboard window without having to interact with the main text body.

In addition, users can swipe left or right with two fingers to undo and redo actions, and adjust the dimensions of their keyboard to better match the size of their hands.

The ‘dark mode’ feature has been shown to reduce eyestrain, and One UI 2 has expanded the number of apps within which it can be applied. “Dark mode has been expanded to a number of apps that it wasn’t previously accessible in,” said Yim,

“To make it more comfortable to use devices in the dark we are also applying a darkening filter to background wallpaper displays.” Yim also spoke to the designers’ efforts to further ease eyestrain, relating that, “An algorithm has been incorporated that analyzes the background image on the lock screen and automatically shows the time in the color that
will show up best against that backdrop.”

‘Convenience’ – Streamlining Rich Experiences

The ‘Single take’ feature comes with One UI 2 on the Galaxy S20 and is capable of using Ultra wide, Live focus, and short video features to deliver various photo styles and results, all with a single shot.

“We started by asking ourselves two questions,” explained Hwang, “Firstly, how can we make sure the users enjoy the moment? And secondly, how can we deliver a variety of results without requiring the user to do more than take a simple, standard shot?”

While explaining what went into developing the feature, Hwang explained that, “Since this feature was to be introduced on the Galaxy S20, we decided that a help message should be displayed when the user entered Single take mode.

Moreover, to allow the user to view a wide range of results simultaneously on the same screen we introduced a new kind of viewer.”

The video calling feature was also further upgraded with the integration of ‘Google Duo,’ Google’s simple, high-quality video calling app. Sueyeon Lee, the designer in charge of integrating Google Duo and One UI, elaborated on the designers’ efforts to improve convenience, saying, “Our goal was to make the user experience more convenient by making the features of Google Duo the default for Galaxy devices.”

Lee went on to highlight some other user experiences specific to Galaxy devices, remarking that, “5G video calls have been brought to smartphones for the first time with this integration, allowing users to experience FHD video calls and use AR emojis and wide screen mode within their video calls.”

Lee finished by saying, “We will continue to develop advanced, integrated communication experiences linked to the phone, message and contact apps.”

The Galaxy Z Flip represents a totally new style of device with a revolutionary format. Thus, the question of how to provide top-tier usability and convenience on the new smartphone required the designers to think outside the box.

Hyungwoo Shin, the designer responsible for developing the Galaxy Z Flip’s UI, outlined the development process, saying, “This is a whole new kind of device. We didn’t have access to any sample devices to which we could apply the new UI, so we had to print out screens, attach them to mock-up products and fold and unfold the devices to figure out how best to
apply One UI.”

In designing this special UI, the designers incorporated the ‘cover display’ aspect, which expands the interface onto the small screen on the outside of the phone that enables users to check the time, read notifications and take selfies when the phone is folded.

Special effort was put into developing the UI for the Galaxy Z Flip’s ‘Flex Mode,’ a feature that divides the screen into two halves when the phone is half-folded and set at a 90-degree angle.

Shin explained how the design team catered to this unique form factor, saying that, “Designing a UI that would be suitable for a phone being used in Flex Mode presented a real challenge.

We ended up creating a new layout that reflected the UIs seen on the foldable phones of the past.”

‘Accessibility’ – Fair and Available to Everyone

‘Accessibility’ means how easy to use and available a device’s features are to a wide range of users.

The designers of One UI 2 worked to provide an equally accessible experience to everyone–
regardless of age or disability – with features such as high contrast themes, which improve usability for visually impaired users.

Samsung additionally consulted with differently-abled users to receive feedback on accessibility within the UI and to hear the users’ ideas on where there was room for
improvement.

As a result, color adjustments and high-contrast features were implemented within the UI to expand usability to more differently-abled users.

These changes also make it easier for users to access specialty features within the UI like Light Sensing, which detects nearby lights and informs the user of their status with vibrations, and Live Transcribe, which uses Bixby to transcribe audio messages and nearby noises.

One UI to Satisfy the Individual User

So, what’s next for the One UI design team? Since the first and second incarnations of One UI were about establishing the foundation of the interface, the next steps will focus on catering more to individual users. “Going forward, One UI will offer more customized content,” related Yim.

“Active customization will be brought to bear to improve the individual user experience.”

As they continue their development work, the One UI designers will keep working to provide the best possible environment for Galaxy users, while ensuring that the interface is inclusive and makes inconvenience a thing of the past.

First Copper, Than Gloves For Anzo. New Substantial Shareholders Next?

Last week Anzo Holdings Bhd won a RM1.3 billion contract to supply copper scrap over a 40 month period to a large South-Korean based steel-maker.

Today the group announced that it paid RM55 million to acquire a factory producing medical and/or nitrile gloves in Manjung Perak.

What’s next? Already there are talks that substantial shareholders will emerge in Anzo. Looking at the share price movement since the beginning of this year and the numbers of shares traded everyday, that could be true!

We hear that a Chinese investor or some tycoon from Hong Kong will end up as a substantial shareholder of Anzo. Few names have come up but let us get more details first before we get deeper into this.

While we wonder why the Chinese or Hong Kong investors are buying into Anzo, it is pretty obvious because they want a hand in the glove business. Further, they may also want to be part of the copper deal which Anzo sealed last week.

“The investors are coming in as they see the potential in Anzo. It is interesting that Anzo, which is involved in timber and property development, has moved so fast in its expansion and is now into copper and gloves.

“Maybe that is why interest in Anzo has been building up lately,” said a local fund manager.

Last week a newspaper reported that something is brewing in Anzo.

On June 23, Anzo was asked to clarify by Bursa on the news report mentioning that “a foreign investor was eyeing a stake in Anzo and it may also come in to inject a new business.

Anzo responded saying that, “The Board of Directors are not aware that a foreign investor was eyeing a stake in Anzo and it may also come in to inject a new business. The Board noted that there are some foreign investors acquired shares in the company.”

This makes it pretty clear to me that something is really “brewing” in Anzo.

Meanwhile, coming back to the glove story, Anzo told Bursa Malaysia that it had entered into a term sheet with Wintrade World Sdn Bhd today to acquire the company’s assets, including land, building, machineries and equipment in Manjung.

Anzo said the assets are ready to be mobilised and commissioned to produce 1.2 billion pieces of medical and/or nitrile gloves a year.

Anzo said that the assets and its capacity is expected to generate substantial profits for the group.

While Anzo did not specify how much it will make, we have made our own calculations – a whopping RM200 million!!! This is based on the fact that the current market price for medical gloves or nitrile gloves is in the range of USD70 per box of 1,000 pieces.

Selling 1.2 billion pieces of gloves at that price makes almost RM200 million in net profit for Anzo.

Anzo’s earnings are secured for many years ahead with just this deal coupled with the copper contract.

Taruhan Terbaharu Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan

Juga dikenali sebagai ‘The King of the Night’, Black Badge Cullinan.” kata Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

‘Back in Black’. ‘Berani Tampil Beza’

Cullinan Lebih Gagah Dengan Warna Hitam

Eksterior Black Badge Cullinan: ‘The King of the Night’

Starlight Headliner telah menjadi salah satu ikonografi bersejarah Rolls-Royce seperti the Spirit of Ecstasy, Gril Pantheon (Pantheon Grille) dan monogram ‘Double R’.

‘The Architecture of Luxury’ direka bentuk untuk mencapai keperluan saiz dan berat

Anzo Holdings Bhd Eyeing To Buy Glove Manufacturing Company

Anzo Holdings Bhd (Anzo) is believed to be in the process of buying a glove manufacturing company in Selangor for about RM50 million.

It is understood, Anzo is buying the company as it owns a factory which is capable to produce over one billion pieces of nitrile gloves or medical gloves a year.

Industry sources said, Anzo will derive a revenue of over RM400 million a year from selling the gloves.

And with the current global market price of nitrile gloves, and if we take the highest price of USD75 for every 1,000 pieces, Anzo will definitely make a handsome profit.

Let’s say that Anzo sells the gloves at that price which i am sure they will be able to as there is shortage of nitrile gloves worldwide currently, Anzo will make a handsome profit of more than RM200 million a year.

This is very good news for the Malaysian market which has been depressed since the beginning of this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anzo is one of few companies that is listed on Bursa Malaysia which has been making news for all the right reasons.

The timber and property development company has been looking to diversify its income stream to mitigate any shortfall in earnings as the market for property development activities is rather slow currently.

Last week Anzo announced that CSTME Resources Sdn Bhd, which has an AP (approved permit) license has emerged as a substantial shareholder in the company with 11.621 per cent stake.

Before that Anzo announced that it had secured a RM1.3 billion deal to supply copper scrap to a South Korean group. All these good news should explain why the stock has been active.

Anzo is expected to have guaranteed payment over 40 months, which is the duration of the contract with the Korean group. This will augur well for the company to perform better.

Hopefully by the time the contract ends within the next three years, Anzo would have secured a new contract or it may also possibly extend the contract with the South Korean group.

Meanwhile, CSTME, incorporated in 2014, is one of the major importer and exporter of non-ferrous materials in Malaysia which specialized mainly in copper products.

Last week Anzo, its subsidiaries and CSTME inked an agreement to supply copper scrap to the South Korean group. CSTME agreed to buy birch/cliff copper scrap or berry/candy copper scrap from Anzo over 40 months.

Anzo told the stock exchange it will supply up to 60,000 metric tonnes of copper scrap to CSTME at RM23,000 per metric tonne during the contract period.

CSTME said it will buy the products from Anzo and export them to South Korea, effective July 1. Anzo said this deal is expected to strengthen its trading business for sustainable earnings in a long period.

The deal will also create business opportunities in the international export market for Anzo, which has been looking to diversify its income stream as its current business that includes property development has not been doing so well because of weak market conditions.

Perodua Catat Jualan Tertinggi Pada Jun Susulan Pengecualian Cukai Jualan Kerajaan

President & CEO Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad
