Experts Explain How Samsung Optimized QLED TVs For Next-Level Gaming

Since introducing Auto Game Mode to its TVs back in 2018, Samsung has made delivering next-level gaming experiences a key priority for TV development.

Today, the fruits of the company’s considerable efforts include three consecutive ‘Best of Innovation’ nods in the gaming category of CES’s annual Innovation Awards.

Samsung’s latest QLED TVs build on that award-winning heritage by offering users their most immersive and enjoyable TV gaming experiences yet. To learn more about how QLED TVs are changing the game in this regard, Samsung Newsroom sat down with the product planners and developers who helped bring the displays to life.

More Immersion, Less Distractions

When it comes to fostering immersive gaming, one of the most important factors, the team
explained, is what’s known as input lag – or the amount of time between the moment a command is entered on a controller and the moment it’s registered on the screen.

The shorter the input lag is, the more immersive the gameplay becomes.

“Input lag is determined by how quickly image signal can be processed and displayed on the screen,” said product planner Jessica BeomEun Kim.

Samsung’s team was able to minimize QLED TV’s input lag, Kim continued, “by enhancing the way the TV processes image signal, which consequently reduces video processing time.”

On QLED TVs, racing games – known for being graphics heavy, and for boasting lightning-fast gameplay – run smoothly, without screen freezes or delays. As developer Youngho Jung explained, FreeSync™ Premium, a technology that eliminates screen tearing and stuttering enabled this ability to seamlessly manage graphics-heavy games.

Also, Game Motion Plus, which minimizes motion blur and halo effects helps smoother gameplay. “We prevented the screen from becoming distorted by syncing the performance of the graphics card with the output of the display,” said Jung.

Spotting enemies and objects in the dark is easy with QLED TV’s built-in Dynamic Black Equalizer. This innovative technology utilizes the TV’s AI Quantum Processor to enhance image quality in real time by analyzing a game’s dark scenes and detecting objects within them. It then optimizes black levels to help you see things that weren’t so clear before.

Gaming-Specific Features

QLED TVs also include a number of built-in gaming-specific features that make it easier for gamers to immerse themselves in the action.

Take for instance Multi View, a screen-splitting function that allows users to simultaneously game on one side of their screen and mirror videos from their phone on the other.

The ability to game and watch a favorite streamer on a single screen eliminates the inconvenience of having to switch back and forth from focusing on your TV to focusing on your phone.

The function can even detect when your phone has switched to landscape mode, and reflects this adjustment in real time.

Auto Game Mode is another clever built-in function that enables QLED TVs to automatically analyze connected devices and optimize settings accordingly. All you have to do is simply connect your console to your TV, and a “game mode is turned on” message will automatically pop up on your screen.

The idea behind including this notification, Kim explained, was to emphasize that the TVs “transform into a gaming device the moment they’re connected to a console.

”Sound is another critical element that can make or break your gaming experience. Not only can realistic audio make games more fun, it can also mean the difference between victory and defeat.

To allow users to enjoy the most realistic sound experience possible, Samsung packed its newest QLED TVs with a total of six speakers – two more than previous models. Built-in Object Tracking Sound (OTS) technology enhances gamers’ immersion by allowing them to sense where sounds are coming from and how far away they are.

Once a simple display, the TV has evolved into the center of home entertainment, and a hub for users to engage in a wide range of fun and interactive experiences. As Software engineer Sungchang Jang, explained, the team went to great lengths to ensure that

“It was crucial that our 2020 QLED TVs would be able to work perfectly with any gaming devices that consumers might use,” said Jang. “This required us to develop entirely new technology.

We had to test each and every gaming device we could find individually in order to ensure that they worked well with the TV. There was a lot of trial and error, but in the end, thanks to our team’s tremendous efforts, we managed to pull it off.”

To get a better sense of the kinds of features gamers want in a TV, the product planning team used MOSAIC, Samsung’s company-wide intelligence platform, to source suggestions from some 15,000 Samsung employees.

Looking ahead, the team members believe that TVs will continue to serve as the center of home entertainment, and will be recognized as bona fide gaming devices. “Going forward,” added the product planner Hyun Mook Choi, “we’ll continue to enhance our TVs’ gaming features, to offer gamers the most complete and satisfying gaming experience possible.”

Narkasa Akan Membolehkan Pelabur Beli Kripto Dalam Matawang Pilihan

Dalam tempoh enam bulan yang lalu, jumlah mereka yang melabur di dalam mata wang kripto telah meningkat sebanyak 20 peratus, sebahagian besarnya disebabkan oleh penurunan baru-baru ini dalam pasaran global.

Narkasa, sebuah tukaran mata wang kripto yang  dilancarkan baru-baru ini yang berpusat di Istanbul, berharap untuk membolehkan pelanggan mereka melakukan urus niaga dalam 156 mata wang negara.

Pasaran mata wang kripto global pada masa ini bernilai hampir $265 bilion, dengan hampir $70 bilion dalam urus niaga dijalankan setiap hari.

Sementara itu, 314 tukaran mata wang kripto kini beroperasi di seluruh dunia, menurut pengesan kripto Coinmarketcap. Walau bagaimanapun, di kebanyakan tukaran ini, mata wang kripto hanya boleh dibeli dengan menggunakan dolar Amerika atau euro.

Tetapi ini tidak berlaku dengan Narkasa, sebuah tukaran mata wang kripto yang berpusat di Istanbul yang membolehkan pelabur untuk membeli aset kripto dengan sejumlah mata wang yang berbeza.

Lebih-lebih lagi, perkhidmatan baharu itu menawarkan diskaun yuran 50 peratus untuk semua urus niaga yang dilakukan dalam tempoh 90 hari pelancarannya.

PDZ And Sanichi To Develop RM1 Billion Logistic Hub In Johor

Another new interesting development for PDZ Holdings Bhd (PDZ), which will see the company become one of the biggest logistics players in Malaysia.

Word has it that PDZ will form a joint venture with Sanichi Technology Bhd (Sanichi) to develop an e-commerce logistics hub in Johor, that could easily cost over RM1 billion.

This gives a reason why the stock has been rising steadily from a low of 7 sen to 8 sen to as high as 25.5 sen this week.

PDZ rose to a new high this week to touch 25.5 sen on Friday (July 10) and some 1 billion shares were traded. The stock has been on uptrend since Monday on news that PDZ has won a RM600 million contract from an e-commerce platform operator in China.

While there are no confirmed names, we believe the Chinese operator could be Alibaba Group Holding Ltd or Tencent Holdings Ltd who currently dominate the China e-commerce market with platforms such as Taobao and JD.com Inc.

The market has it that PDZ and a subsidiary company of Sanichi, a large technology and property firm, have received approval from the relevant authority to build the logistics hub over 253 acres of land.

“What is interesting is that we hear the Johor state government is also involved in this joint venture development,” said market analyst.

PDZ is planning to build a logistics hub to ride on the exponential growth in the e-commerce business across Asia, which has grown significantly since the outbreak of the COVID-19.

Because of COVID-19, more and more people are shopping online for household items to safeguard themselves from the virus and this makes the logistics business in Malaysia a lucrative venture.

The logistics business is currently dominated by companies linked to Malaysian billionaire Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary.

And the fact is that Syed Mokhtar is said to be eyeing a controlling stake in PDZ. I wonder what his game plan is!

Is Syed Mokhtar taking a controlling stake in PDZ to widen his own logistics business and get contracts in China from the top 2 e-commerce platform operators?

I must also mention that all this fantastic news on PDZ comes just after its largest shareholder Pelaburan Mara Bhd had disposed of its entire shareholding of 50.62 million shares or a 5.71 per cent stake in the company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on July 9, PDZ said the disposal of the shares were done in the open market on July 3.

Interestingly, the selling by Pelaburan Mara did not deter the buying pattern in the stock or put pressure on it. There was heavy buying for PDZ on Friday’s closing.

Permaju-Anzo Tie-Up For Glove Expansion

Permaju Industries Bhd (Permaju) and Anzo Holdings Bhd (Anzo) will form a joint venture to refurbish and to expand a medical glove manufacturing plant in Manjung, Perak, which is expected to cost around RM25 million.

Anzo recently announced that it is paying RM55 million to acquire the factory. It has entered into a term sheet with Wintrade World Sdn Bhd to acquire the company’s assets, including land, building, machineries and equipment in Manjung.

The factory, which has been operating for about 18 years currently has 9 production lines producing 1.2 billion pieces of medical and/or nitrile gloves a year, worth in the region of US$100 million.

Permaju, which makes high-quality timber doors, and is involved in construction and property development will refurbish and expand the factory together with Anzo to have at least 15 production lines running in the factory.

With the expansion, the factory is expected to produce over 3 billion pieces of the medical gloves per annum, generating a revenue of about US$300 million to US$400 million every year for Anzo.

Anzo is in a rush to expand and refurbish the factory as it is getting more orders for medical gloves from the United States and Europe.

We have said earlier that Anzo has secured an order each from the United States and Europe to supply over 2 billion pieces of medical gloves, worth an estimated US$200 million.

The number of coronavirus cases around the world as at July 12, 2020, is at a staggering 12.39 million while total deaths are 557,395 and the numbers are rising drastically.

The total number of cases in the United States is 3.22 million and infections continue to inch up in the country. The United States also recorded a total death toll of 135,822.

Several other countries around the world are also hit hard by the global pandemic, including Europe and India.

Both Anzo and Permaju have traded actively in the last few weeks. Investors, especially, are keeping a close watch on Anzo after it said it was venturing into the glove manufacturing business.

The stock has moved up from the 2 to 5 sen level more than a month ago to exceed 20 sen this week.

The highest the stock went up to this week was 26 sen, and it traded in heavy volume. We have been expecting the stock to hit limit-up this week but the world market has slowed, including trading of counters on Bursa Malaysia.

We can expect some shows next week with both Anzo and Permaju.

Selain itu, tambahan hadiah sempena ulang tahun ini adalah penapis Kabin N95 PROTON, di mana sebelum ini hanya terdapat pada Proton X70 yang juga akan terdapat pada model Saga, Persona, Iriz dan Exora bermula hari ini.

Pemilik sedia ada mempunyai pilihan untuk membeli Penapis Kabin N95 pada harga RM59, tidak termasuk caj pekerja. Untuk masa yang terhad sehingga 9 Oktober 2020, terdapat 15% diskaun bagi harga penapis N95 ini.

Timbalan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Proton, Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed berkata “35 tahun yang lalu menjadi bukti dedikasi Proton untuk menghasilkan produk seperti yang rakyat impikan.

“Untuk beberapa dekad yang akan datang, kami menumpukan untuk memberikan produk, perkhidmatan dan pengalaman yang lebih berkualiti lagi,” katanya.

Bank Islam Turun Kadar Asas Dan Pembiayaan Asas Berkuatkuasa 10 Julai 2020

Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) menyemak semula Kadar Asas (BR) sebanyak 25 mata asas, iaitu daripada 2.77% kepada 2.52%, sementara Kadar Pembiayaan Asas (“BFR”) disemak semula daripada 5.72% kepada 5.47%.

Pada masa yang sama, kadar deposit juga akan diselaraskan ke bawah sebanyak 25 mata asas.

Semua perubahan kadar akan berkuat kuasa 10 Julai 2020. Keputusan ini adalah sejajar dengan langkah penurunan Kadar Dasar Semalaman (OPR) sebanyak 25 mata asas oleh Bank Negara Malaysia iaitu daripada 2.00% kepada 1.75%.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Bank Islam, Mohd Muazzam Mohamed berkata, “Semakan semula kadar tersebut adalah tepat pada masanya memandangkan tempoh moratorium akan berakhir.

“Kami menjangkakan langkah ini akan mengurangkan kesan pascamoratorium yang dialami sebahagian besar pelanggan kami, iaitu dengan meringankan komitmen bayaran ansuran bulanan mereka.

“Bank Islam sentiasa memberi penekanan dalam memastikan keperluan kewangan pelanggan diberi perhatian, terutamanya dalam mengharungi persekitaran semasa yang mencabar.

“Bank ini juga menyediakan khidmat rundingan berkenaan pengaturan pembayaran pembiayaan kepada pelanggan yang terjejas teruk oleh wabak COVID-19.”

“Bank Islam komited untuk terus menawarkan pelbagai penyelesaian kewangan yang memenuhi kehendak dan jangkaan pelanggan. Bagi memberi perkhidmatan yang lebih baik, Bank Islam akan terus mendukung prinsip kemampanan perniagaannya dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi dan inovasi,” katanya.

Semakan terakhir BR Bank Islam telah dilaksanakan pada 12 Mei 2020, iaitu daripada 3.27% kepada 2.77%, manakala BFR diturunkan daripada 6.22% kepada 5.72%.
