As part of AccorHotels’ commitment to giving back to the community, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur
Damansara has recently hosted the children from Rumah Jairah to their first-ever staycation in the hotel.
Located in Batu Arang, Rumah Jairah is a home for children suffering from HIV or AIDS and whose parents passed away.
Welcomed by the hotel’s General Manager, Franck Loison, and his heads of department, and under supervised conditions from child guardians, the children were treated to a day filled with fun activities including lunch with the hotel’s executive committee members, educational learning sessions, pool and board games and more.
The activity then came to its height with the children checking in to the hotel rooms.
Carmen Andrew, Director of Talent & Culture of Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara’s said that “these children have had a disadvantageous start in life, but that doesn’t mean they can’t live a life like any other children.
Thus, we wanted them to experience a fun-filled weekend in the hotel.” The hotel also handed RM1,000.00 to Rumah Jairah to help with the children’s school-related expenses.
