QSR Brands Jalin Kerjasama Dengan Universiti Sains Malaysia

MoU yang ditandatangani oleh Profesor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail, Naib Canselor Universiti Sains Malaysia (dua dari kiri) dan YBhg. Datuk Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Pengarah Urusan QSR Brands (tiga dari kiri) dan dalam satu majlis yang diadakan di Kampus Kejuruteraan Universiti Sains Malaysia.

QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands), syarikat pengeluar makanan bersepadu dan pengendali rangkaian restoran terbesar di rantau ini menandatangani Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) buat julung kali dengan universiti tempatan, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), untuk saling berkolaborasi melaksanakan pembangunan restoran di kawasan yang berpotensi di Kampus Induk dan Kampus Kejuruteraan USM, Pulau Pinang.

MoU yang telah ditandatangani ini juga bertujuan bagi mewujudkan kerjasama dan meneroka peluang untuk membangun, menyokong dan memperkayakan aktiviti penyelidikan, program pendidikan dan latihan dalam bidang yang akan memberi manfaat kepada kedua-dua belah pihak.

QSR Brands dan USM bakal berkongsi kepakaran dan sumber untuk membangunkan micro-credential degree dalam bidang pengurusan restoran dan pematuhan halal. Ini akan memberi peluang kepada anggota pekerja di restoran – restoran QSR Brands yang kompeten dan terlatih untuk memperoleh pengiktirafan profesional daripada USM khusus untuk pembangunan kerjaya mereka di dalam industri ini.

Di samping itu, QSR Brands juga bakal menyediakan penempatan latihan industri dan peluang pekerjaan kepada para pelajar USM di dalam jurusan yang berkaitan dengan industri pengurusan restoran mengikut terma dan syarat yang telah ditetapkan.

Manakala, USM sebagai universiti penyelidikan terkemuka di Malaysia, sedia menjalankan penyelidikan mengenai pematuhan halal serta penerokaan teknologi dan robotik yang berkaitan dengan perniagaan QSR Brands dan industri yang terlibat berdasarkan keperluan pasaran semasa.

MoU berkenaan telah ditandatangani oleh Datuk Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Pengarah Urusan QSR Brands dan Profesor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail, Naib Canselor Universiti Sains Malaysia dalam satu majlis yang diadakan di Kampus Kejuruteraan Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Datuk Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil berkata, kerjasama strategik bersama USM ini membuka peluang baik kepada QSR Brands dalam usaha untuk memperluaskan perniagaan.

“Sebagai peneraju pasaran dalam segmen perkhidmatan restoran di Malaysia, kami meletakkan penekanan khusus terhadap strategi pembangunan kami supaya dapat memenuhi tuntutan pelanggan pada hari ini dan masa hadapan.

“Kami amat berbesar hati di atas kolaborasi ini kerana ianya membuka peluang buat QSR untuk memperlebarkan jaringan perkhidmatan restoran kami di kampus terkemuka seperti Universiti Sains Malaysia.

“Ini merupakan kolaborasi komersial buat julung kali diantara QSR Brands bersama universiti awam tempatan, USM, untuk pengkomersialan aset dan penjanaan dana sebagai pertambahan perolehan secara berterusan kepada potfolio pelaburan USM.

QSR Brands berhasrat untuk terus melebarkan kolaborasi bersama universiti-universiti tempatan antaranya perjanjian kerjasama yang akan ditandatangani bersama Universiti Teknologi Malaysia untuk membuka restoran KFC di UTM Gurney Mall, @ Residensi UTMKL.

Ini sejajar dengan matlamat kami untuk membuka 23 cawangan restoran KFC bagi tahun 2018 sebagai sebahagian daripada strategi pembangunan jenama KFC.”

Tambah beliau, usaha ini mampu mengukuhkan kedudukan pasaran syarikat terutamanya menerusi aspek pensijilan professional dan pematuhan halal serta aplikasi teknologi.

“Di samping itu, micro-credential degree yang bakal dibangunkan menerusi perjanjian ini akan memberi pengiktirafan ke atas kepakaran anggota pekerja kami di dalam bidang pengurusan restoran dan pematuhan halal.

Kerjasama ini juga memberi peluang untuk kami menyelidik dan meneroka pelbagai pendekatan yang boleh diaplikasi di dalam proses pengeluaran dan perkhidmatan melalui kemudahan teknologi dan robotik.”

Mengenai QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR): QSR merupakan operator francais kepada 800 restoran KFC di Malaysia, Singapura, Brunei dan Kemboja.

Ia juga pemilik francais kepada lebih 380 restoran Pizza Hut di Malaysia dan 80 restoran di Singapura. Selain operasi restoran, ia juga terlibat dalam pembiakan baka ayam, perladangan ayam kontrak, penetasan telur ayam, pengeluaran dan pemprosesan daging ayam serta perniagaan sampingan seperti pemprosesan roti, commissary dan pembuatan sos.

Ini menjadikan QSR sebagai pengendali makanan tunggal dan pertama yang bersepadu sepenuhnya di Malaysia.

Anugerah BCI Asia 2018 namakan LBS Bina Group Berhad (LBS) antara 10 pemaju terkemuka di Malaysia

LBS Bina Group Berhad, pemaju perbandaran diiktiraf atas amalan dan reka bentuk mampan dengan membina perbandaran mampan untuk komuniti yang sedang berkembang maju.

Anugerah 10 Pemaju Terkemuka BCI Asia 2018 mengiktiraf pemaju-pemaju dengan sumbangan paling penting ke arah pembangunan mampan dalam tujuh pasaran serantau merentasi Asia. Ini ialah kali ketiga LBS menerima pengiktirafan tersebut.

“Hari ini, lebih ramai orang telah mula menyedari tentang jejak karbon mereka dan kita melihat ramai orang berusaha untuk mengurangkan kesannya ke atas alam sekitar. “Ini bermakna kami bekerja kuat untuk menggabungkan amalan praktikal dalam reka bentuk kami bagi memaksimakan pencahayaan dan pengudaraan semula jadi dalam kediaman; meningkatkan usaha untuk melaksanakan amalan cekap tenaga. Kami juga menggunakan bahan-bahan pembinaan yang mampan,” kata Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan LBS, Tan Sri Lim Hock San.

Mengenai amalan-amalan mampannya pada masa ini, LBS berkongsi kebaikan dalam mengadaptasi Sistem Bangunan Berindustri (IBS) yang dapat meningkatkan kecekapan pekerja, mengurangkan bahan buangan, dan persekitaran tapak pembinaan yang bersih serta mengurangkan kesesakan.

LBS juga dikenali melalui pengunaan rekaan lestari; sebagai contoh, D’ Island Residence ialah salah satu daripada pembangunan terkemuka pertama dalam portfolio LBS yang menggabungkan sistem penuaian air hujan yang menakung air tidak boleh diminum dari bumbung untuk digunakan semula di sekeliling rumah.

Secara purata, sistem tersebut dianggarkan mampu menjimatkan air sehingga 84,862 liter air bagi setiap kediaman setahun. Ciri-ciri hijau yang lain termasuk lampu-lampu jalan yang menggunakan Diod Pengeluar Cahaya (LED) di sekeliling perbandaran Bandar Saujana Putra milik kumpulan yang menggalakkan kecekapan tenaga dalam jangka masa panjang.

“Kami percaya dengan menggabungkan elemen-elemen hijau ke dalam projek-projek pembangunan kami dapat menguasakan lagi para pembeli kediaman untuk mengurangkan jejak karbon mereka dalam jangka masa panjang.

“Amalan-amalan hijau bukan hanya keperluan kepada peraturan semata-mata tetapi hendaklah dilihat sebagai amalan terbaik yang berbaloi untuk diusahakan bagi membantu masyarakat masa hadapan berkembang maju,” kata Tan Sri Lim.

LBS yang amat berbesar hati menerima pengiktirafan industri ini, mengakui kepentingan Anugerah BCI Asia 2018 – Anugerah Sepuluh Pemaju Terkemuka 2018. “Kami amat berbesar hati untuk tersenarai antara yang terbaik dalam industri.

Hala tuju kami yang jelas, sokongan daripada pasukan LBS yang berdedikasi dan kepercayaan daripada para pemegang saham dan pembeli kediaman kami telah memungkinkan pencapaian ini. Pencapaian ini meyakinkan kami bahawa kami sedang menuju ke arah yang betul.

“Memasuki separuh kedua 2018, kami kekal fokus untuk mewujudkan persekitaran hidup, kerja dan rekreasi yang mampan untuk manfaat para pembeli kediaman di Malaysia,” kata Tan Sri Lim.

Dari Januari hingga Jun, LBS telah mencatatkan jualan sebanyak RM815 juta. Yakin untuk mencapai sasaran jualannya bagi tahun 2018 sebanyak RM1.8 bilion, LBS kini berada pada landasan yang betul dengan 18 projek yang sedang berjalan dengan gabungan nilai pembangunan kasar (GDV) sebanyak RM3.95 bilion. LBS akan membuat pelancaran pembangunan pada setengah tahun kedua 2018 dengan jumlah GDV hampir RM1 bilion.

Sepuluh pemaju terkemuka 2018 ini telah dipilih berdasarkan tahap kemampanan projek-projek mereka [seperti yang ditetapkan oleh penyelidikan peneraju projek komprehensif BCI Asia dan penarafan bangunan hijau yang disahkan, melalui penganugerahan sijil bertauliah daripada Majlis Bangunan Hijau Dunia sepanjang tahun lepas].

Anugerah BCI Asia – Anugerah Sepuluh Terkemuka kini telah memasuki tahun ke-14 semenjak dimulakan pada 2003. Ia dianggap sebagai anugerah yang paling diimpikan bagi sektor seni bina, pemaju dan pembinaan di Asia seperti di Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Singapura, Thailand dan Vietnam.

Majlis makan malam gala BCIAA 2018 telah diadakan di hotel Hilton Kuala Lumpur dan telah diserikan dengan kehadiran Presiden Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM), Ar Ezumi Harzani dan Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan, Zuraida Kamaruddin.

Liga Bola Sepak Malaysia Capai Sasaran e-Dagang Dengan Sokongan Shopee

Jualan e-tiket melangkaui sasaran sebanyak 306.5%; MFL melancarkan kedai rasmi cenderahati di Shopee

PADA bulan Mac lalu, platform e-dagang terkemuka di Asia Tenggara dan Taiwan, Shopee menandatangani memorandum persefahaman (MoU) dengan Liga Bola Sepak Malaysia (MFL) untuk menjadi penaja gelaran bagi Piala FA Malaysia 2018.

Menerusi usahasama tersebut, MFL juga dapat mendekati 10 juta pengguna Shopee di Malaysia untuk memasarkan dan menjual tiket Piala FA dan unifi Liga Super Malaysia.

Usahasama tersebut terjalin untuk meningkatkan hasil pendapatan pasukan bola sepak tempatan dengan membolehkan peminat bola sepak membeli tiket secara dalam talian.

Sehingga 5 Julai 2018, sebanyak 20,423 e-tiket terjual; peningkatan sehingga 306.5% daripada sasaran asal iaitu 5,000 unit e-tiket.

Malah, jualan e-tiket melonjak lebih 5,000 unit dalam tempoh dua bulan sejak terjalinnya usahasama tersebut, membuktikan populariti program tersebut di negara ini. Yang pentingnya, tanpa pengenaan yuran pendaftaran atau tahunan ke atas usahawan, atau caj komisyen, keseluruhan hasil jualan tiket di Shopee disalurkan untuk kebajikan pasukan bola sepak tempatan.

“Selain daripada pertumbuhan yang kukuh ini, Shopee terus mengotakan janji jenama kami untuk memperkasakan perniagaan dan komuniti tempatan.

Selain daripada penajaan, kami menyokong MFL dan pasukan tempatan dengan penambahan hasil sebanyak RM1.5 juta daripada jualan tiket dan aktiviti yang dianjurkan bersama MFL dan pemain tempatan.

Kami turut melancarkan pelbagai inisiatif seperti kempen Demam Bola, stadium mini, trivia dan permainan untuk menyokong dan mempromosikan arena bola sepak dan pasukan tempatan.

Shopee menawarkan pelbagai hadiah berjumlah lebih daripada RM500,000. Sama seperti semua rakyat Malaysia, Shopee juga amat menyanjungi permainan bola sepak.

The Kia Stinger’s aerodynamic profile is further enhanced with the bodywork tapered slightly towards the rear of the car and new ‘gills’ introduced behind the front wheel arches, each serving to reduce wake turbulence as air passes over the car’s flanks.

The aggressive stance is amplified with Kia’s signature ‘tiger-nose’ grille, sitting proudly at the front between complex full LED headlamps and accentuated with honeycomb-shaped, dark-chromed, hot-stamped patterns added onto a black base to ensure a premium exterior.

The Kia Stinger’s aesthetic value has already gained recognition worldwide, having received an EyesOn Design award for Production Car Design Excellence at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in 2017.

Inside, a sleek and sophisticated cabin space evokes a minimally luxurious feel with its aircraft-style design and high-quality finishes in modern key colours. Ultra-soft Nappa leather envelops the deeply contoured seats for the 3.3L V6 GT trim and natural leather is available for the 2.0L GT-Line.

Both variants offer 8-way power driver seat and 4-way mechanical lumbar support, creating a space dedicated to the thrill of driving while cossetting the occupants with luxury.

Aeronautically inspired circular vents at the front and rear and a satin chrome ring tastefully encircles the rest of the cabin, creating the effect of cocooned intimacy, a feeling further elevated by warm and inviting LED lights that softly illuminate the finely-crafted interior.

Key to its road presence lies in the pounding hearts under the sculpted hood, where a choice of two turbocharged engines are available. The 2.0L twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder Theta II T-GDi engine produces 251 horsepower at 6,200 rpm with 353Nm of maximum torque available from 1,400 – 4,000 rpm, propelling the Stinger from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.0 seconds.

Performance credentials are further enhanced through the 3.3L twin-turbo V6 Lambda T-GDi engine, which sees the racehorse accelerating to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds with its 365 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and offers 510Nm of torque from 1,300 – 4,500 rpm – ultimately proving itself to be a worthy challenger to the competition.

The Kia Stinger features an in-house designed second-generation eight-speed rear-wheel drive automatic transmission. The transmission also features Kia’s first use of a Centrifugal Pendulum Absorber (CPA) torque converter on the 2.0L GT-Line to help reduce torsional vibrations through the drivetrain, a technology more typically found in aviation- and racing-engine applications.

For intuitive control and smarter, more spirited driving, the Stinger’s innovative Shift-By-Wire transmission control allows the driver to interchange between transmission modes through electronic controls.

The gearbox can be set to intuitively manage shifts on its own or selectively run through the gears via paddle shift levers mounted behind the steering wheel. As with the suspension and steering, the Stinger’s rear-wheel drive system is fully integrated with its 5-Drive Mode, offering distinct calibration between comfort and sport modes.

From its GT concept-car origins to the years of tuning and refining on the legendary Nürburgring circuit, the Kia Stinger proved its mettle to handle even the most demanding road conditions with composed poise, contributed by the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) that features the sophisticated Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control system.

This system monitors driver inputs and road conditions and then automatically distributes power in real-time based on the driving situation, minimising understeer in the process and gives the driver confidence to maneuver in even in the most inclement weather.

Other powerful features include Electronically-Controlled Suspension (ECS) and Rack-mounted Motor-Driven Power Steering (R-MDPS).

Other industry-leading safety features include Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Antilock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS) and Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Blind-spot Collision Warning (BCW), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning and 7 airbags.

Due to its advanced safety technologies, the Kia Stinger received the highest rating of 5 stars from Euro NCAP. The Kia Stinger rides on a chassis comprised of 55 percent advanced high-strength steel, and the MacPherson front setup features large diameter shock absorbers, high-strength wheel bearings, and an aluminium strut brace, while the reinforced five-link rear suspension is mounted to a stiffened rear subframe for outstanding durability.

The 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder GT-Line models ride on 225/45R-18 performance all-season tires (18 inch alloy), while the 3.3L V6 GT model is equipped with staggered ultra-high performance Continental ContiSportContact 5 tires that have been specifically engineered and tuned for the Stinger – 225/40R-19 in front and 255/35R-19 at the rear (19 inch alloy).

Additionally, the Kia Stinger GT trim’s stopping power comes from standard high-performance Brembo® disc brakes featuring quad-piston front calipers and dual-piston rear calipers. The lightweight monobloc all-aluminium calipers reduce unsprung weight and are coupled with large diameter brake discs (13.8-inch front and 13.4-inch rear) that quickly dissipate heat and help to deliver short stopping distances.

The Stinger’s long wheelbase at 2,905mm is ahead of its segment, and boasts a longer and wider body than many others in the same segment at 4830mm and 1,870mm respectively. This advantage allows for generous front and rear legroom while the lowered hip point provides ample headroom even for the tallest occupants.

With 406 litres of boot space, the Kia Stinger’s boot area is also larger than many of its competitors, with enough space to accommodate full-size luggage or golf bags.

Taking in-car technology to the next level is the high dashboard with a powerful dose of dynamics and pure emotion interior that lays out a strong horizontal plane for the driver. The center console is intuitively split into two specific areas: the infotainment system and an 8-inch floating navigation touchscreen integrated with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while climate and ventilation controls nestle beneath.
