At a time when many oil and gas companies have closed shop, Sapura Energy Berhad however has bucked the trend and continues to stand tall.
AT a time when crude oil prices are challenging, Sapura however continues to clinch contracts one after another compared with its peers which are struggling just to remain afloat.

Malaysia too has been scrapping or postponing projects such as the East Coast Rail Link and the high speed bullet train project to Singapore. But not Sapura who on the converse is soaring and consolidating its growing clout and reputation.
All this can be attributed to the dynamic leadership of its President and Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Shahril Shamsuddin who has defied the odds and continues to steer the company with a steely determination.

But Sapura continues to persevere and trudge forwad ignoring all the doomsayers confident that the oil and gas sector will be rejuvenated in the future.
Sapura is determined to be a major global player and in Malaysia, Sapura is second only to Petronas. Sapura shares have also been sizzling consistently for the past few weeks stamping its mark either among the most active stocks or among the top gainers.
Malaysian Association of Technical Analysts adviser Nazarry Rosli told an English daily recently that Sapura shares are back into the radar screens of investors because of the potential improvement in the future profitability of the company as well as better earnings growth due to more projects in the pipeline.

“Oil and gas stocks still have an upside potential due to the uptrend movement of world crude oil prices,” said Nazarry recently.
Sapura is also wary that it has to forge alliances to expand such as its partnership with Austria OMV AG and it also has the solid backing of Permodalan Nasional Bhd which supported its cash call to raise RM4 billion.
And now, with a warchest of RM8 billion, there is now way for Sapura to go but march forward. Sapura’s prospects are bright as it has a total of RM18 billion orderbook under its belt and its net gearing has also dwindled to 0.6 times.

Sapura will remain focused on grow its order book as well as delivering strong operational performance,” Shahril said in a statement on Monday while unveiling its 2018 financial results.

Ahli Parlimen Permatang Pauh, Nurul Izzah Anwar mempertahankan gelaran ‘bekas diktator’ yang digunakannya terhadap Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad kerana pernah digunakan sebelum ini.
Tegas anak sulung Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim itu, beliau pernah menyebut gelaran itu sebelum Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-14 (PRU-14) dan dalam ucapan ketika perhimpunan Bersih beberapa tahun lalu.
“Ia fakta daripada rekod saya. Saya cakap sebelum pilihan raya, cakap ketika demonstrasi Bersih 3.0 atau 4.0.
“Saya tidak faham kenapa bercakap dalam forum berlainan (tetapi) mengandungi mesej yang sama adalah sesuatu yang bermasalah,” katanya dalam sidang akhbar di lobi Parlimen.
Jumaat lalu, Nurul Izzah dalam wawancara dengan akhbar Singapura, The Straits Times menyifatkan Dr. Mahathir sebagai bekas diktator dan mengakui sukar bekerja dengan Pengerusi Pakatan Harapan (PH) itu.
Nurul Izzah turut meluahkan rasa kecewanya dengan kerajaan PH kerana gagal menunaikan janji dan menggerakkan agenda reformasi sepertimana sepatutnya.
Dalam perkembangan sama, beliau turut mempersoalkan adakah menjadi kesalahan untuk beliau mengeluarkan kenyataan yang membina.
“Saya cakap mengenai reformasi negara bergerak perlahan, takkan tak boleh bagi sedikit komen membina. Kita sayang negara, kita kena dengar orang cakap,” katanya.
Mengulas isu Jawatankuasa Kira-kira Wang Negara (PAC), Nurul Izzah menegaskan jawatankuasa itu perlu diletakkan pada tempat yang sepatutnya untuk memantau dan sebagai perisai kepada segala ketirisan.
Beliau yang telah melepaskan jawatan sebagai anggota PAC Sabtu lalu memberitahu, Pakatan Harapan (PH) harus meneliti kemungkinan ketirisan dalam badan eksekutif dan PAC adalah fungsi utama untuk menangani perkara itu.
“Saya terlalu menghormati (Datuk Seri Dr.) Ronald Kiandee. Saya pernah bekerjasama baik dengan beliau tetapi akhirnya struktur (PAC) perlu diutamakan.

Pengiktirafan Bukit Golan sebagai hak rejim pengganas Israel akan menjurus kepada lebih banyak keganasan di wilayah itu sekali gus menjejaskan peluang untuk mencapai keamanan yang saksama.
Bekas Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi berkata, tindakan Presiden Amerika Syarikat (AS) menandatangani pengisytiharan mengiktiraf kedaulatan Israel ke atas wilayah Bukit Golan dilihat mencabul resolusi Majlis Keselamatan Pertubuhan Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu (UNSC).
“Resolusi 497 yang diterima pakai pada 1981, menentang pendudukan Israel di Dataran Tinggi Golan hendaklah dihormati oleh semua pihak bagi menjamin keamanan dan ketenteraman wilayah yang menjadi pertikaian,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan.
Justeru beliau berharap Wisma Putra membawa isu pengiktirafan Bukit Golan sebagai wilayah Israel ke PBB bagi melindungi hak Syria.
Terdahulu, Presiden AS, Donald Trump secara rasmi telah menandatangani pengiktirafan Bukit Golan sebagai hak rejim pengganas Israel.
Israel menduduki dan mengambil sepenuhnya Bukit Golan pada tahun 1981, dalam langkah yang tidak diiktiraf pada peringkat antarabangsa.
Bukit Golan adalah dataran tinggi meliputi 1,200 kilometer persegi, terletak kira-kira 60 kilometer di barat daya ibu negara Syria, Damsyik.
Langkah pemimpin utama negara pembuli itu turut mendapat kritikan hebat daripada Syria – yang memiliki tanah tinggi strategik itu sebelum dirampas Zionis pada 1967.

Projek kilang pemasangan CKD bagi kereta-kereta Proton yang pertama di Pakistan secara rasminya dijalankan apabila Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad dan Perdana Menteri Pakistan, Imran Khan, menandatangani plak marmar di satu majlis yang diadakan di Islamabad, Pakistan.
KILANG tersebut, yang akan dibina di tapak Greenfield di Karachi, akan dimiliki dan dikendalikan oleh ALHAJ Automotive, pengedar rasmi untuk kereta-kereta Proton di Pakistan dan dijangka memulakan operasi sebelum akhir 2020.
Pada 2017, Proton telah melancarkan strategi tujuh bintang, iaitu pelan hala tuju untuk mencapai matlamat jangka panjang kereta termasuklah menyasarkan untuk menjual sebanyak 400,000 unit kereta menjelang 2027.
Sasaran pertumbuhan utama pada masa hadapan ialah jualan eksport dan penubuhan kilang pemasangan CKD di pasaran luar negara merupakan salah satu langkah yang diambil untuk mengembangkan angka tersebut.
Bagi menubuhkan PROTON di Pakistan, satu perjanjian bersama ALHAJ Automotive telah ditandatangani pada 29 Ogos 2018, yang mana kumpulan tersebut dilantik sebagai pengedar tunggal untuk kereta-kereta Proton di Pakistan.
Pelan telah dirangka iaitu untuk membina sebuah kilang pemasangan yang baharu, untuk memanfaatkan pengurangan cukai bagi kenderaan CKD di negara ini.
“PROTON sangat berbesar hati di mana hubungan strategik bersama ALHAJ Automotive telah bergerak maju dengan pantas sejak menandatangani perjanjian pada Ogos 2018.
Bagi mengembangkan jualan kereta-kereta Proton di luar Malaysia adalah penting bagi kami untuk mencapai matlamat jangka panjang dan kami berharap pasaran automotif Pakistan menjadi salah satu daripada punca pertumbuhan kami untuk masa hadapan,” kata Dato’ Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Pengerusi PROTON.
ALHAJ Automotive akan melaburkan sebanyak USD30 juta untuk kilang pemasangan CKD baharu. Sebagai seorang pengedar dan pemasang kenderaan yang terkenal, ALHAJ Automotive mempunyai pengalaman dan sumber-sumber yang diperlukan untuk mengurus dan meningkatkan jualan kereta-kereta Proton di Pakistan.
Kilang pemasangan CKD baharu yang akan dibina di Karachi iaitu di tapak Greenfield dengan pelaburan awal sebanyak USD30 juta, akan mewujudkan sebanyak 2,000 peluang pekerjaan secara langsung dalam tiga tahun pertama operasinya.
Dianggarkan lebih 20,000 pekerjaan tidak langsung juga akan wujud hasil daripada kilang baharu yang dibina.
“ALHAJ Automotive amat berbesar hati untuk menjadi pengedar rasmi PROTON di Pakistan. Kami akan memanfaatkan cawangan pengedar sedia ada kami di seluruh negara untuk mula menjual kereta-kereta Proton secepat mungkin sementara kami membina sebuah bangunan cawangan 3S/4S pada masa yang sama.
“Perkara pertama ialah, kami akan mendapatkan unit-unit CBU dari Malaysia sebelum menghasilkan produk CKD sebaik sahaja kilang pemasangan baharu ini beroperasi sebelum akhir tahun 2020,” kata Al-Haj Shah Jee Gul Afridi, Pengerusi ALHAJ Automotive.

“Sebagai anggota Parlimen Langkawi , tentunya bangga dapat menyaksikan edisi LIMA kali ini yang masih menarik peserta maritim dan aeroangka antarabangsa serta perniagaan dari setiap pelusuk dunia.
“Edisi ke-15 LIMA mengimbau kembali edisi 1991 apabila saya melancarkan Rangka Tindakan Pembangunan Industri Aeroangkasa Pertama di Malaysia.

A true off-roader with a wealth of innovations, the all new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Line will soon be on the Malaysian road, following its special preview at the Mercedes-Benz SUV media launch.

The new generation luxury SUV
The innovation continues with the active suspension system E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL and the Active Stop-and-Go Assist driving assistance systems. Combining with a fully networked hydro pneumatic, the world first active suspension on a 48-volt basis combined with newly develop air suspension, lending the GLE 450 AMG Line a greater performance on the road. Even more exclusive is can be individually controlled at each wheel.
