GrabPay Malaysia Recognised As Best e-Wallet For 2019

Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading everyday everything app, recently celebrated GrabPay’s recognition as the Best e-Wallet at the Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards 2019 with their merchant-partners in a Partner Appreciation Night.

THE annual e-Payments Excellence Awards is given out by PayNet – Malaysia’s central payment network infrastructure that is owned by Bank Negara Malaysia and a consortium of eleven (11) local financial institutions.

The award recognises GrabPay’s sustainable ecosystem and rapid growth in the digital payments arena and contribution to push Malaysians to adopt cashless payments. Since December 2016, GrabPay has been slowly introducing Malaysians to a cashless payment option by paying for transport services via debit / credit card.

In 2018, Grab launched the vision to be the everyday app to meet the daily needs of users through the GrabPay e-wallet. With new services like GrabFood and a robust partner network of both financial institutions and non-
financial merchants, this has increased the adoption of virtual payments innovatively, which is in with the government’s push to move Malysia forward in the digital economy.

Ooi Huey Tyng, Managing Director of GrabPay Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines attributed the recognition to “our product, technology and our people.” She elaborated that Grab’s partnership approach has propelled GrabPay as a seamless and safe payment method that looks beyond payment for Grab services and nurture a cashless culture.

“GrabPay has stayed true to its vision of providing convenience, security and value to both our consumers and merchant-partners. We are working with partners to create an impact by providing more reasons to adopt cashless through new features like Pay Later, Online Acceptance, Pay with GrabRewards points. (Please refer to the Appendix for more info about some of the key features GrabPay has introduced)

In addition to these features, merchant-partners present at the appreciation night were also given a snippet of upcoming features that would not only enhance their convenience as a partner, but also help them grow their business better through marketing initiatives and product enhancements by Grab.

“Our partners benefit from our ecosystem and as we celebrate our first anniversary in Malaysia, the recognition from Paynet is a further validation of our approach to develop a robust and user-friendly ecosystem that caters to a seamless cashless solution to our consumers and merchants,” added Ooi.

Over 14,000 Customers And Fans Visit Universo Ferrari

Universo Ferrari came to an end yesterday, counting over 14,000 visitors throughout the month of September. An unprecedented event in a dedicated location next to the Fiorano Circuit.

Customers and fans from all over the world had a chance to experience the many facets of the marque – from the Ferrari Classiche to the latest cars, the motorsports activities and the Gran Turismo events – all in one place, just a few steps away from the Company’s headquarters.

Universo Ferrari has been the centre of all the Prancing Horse’s activities for the whole month. Even the marque’s latest world premieres of the F8 Spider and the 812 GTS took place here, in the very structure that housed the three trophies won by Scuderia Ferrari whilst the event was taking place.

The experience was made even more memorable by the exceptional display of the marque’s entire range, broader and richer than ever.

The unique Ferrari event was a journey through the challenges set by the founder and still recognized by the men and women who work in the company today: succeeding both on the track as weel as in the automotive world through constant striving for perfection.

By experiencing Ferrari from the inside, the visitors were able to discover that a constant commitment to innovation represents a heritage of more than 70 years, amid historic models and presentations of the latest cars.

The Universo visit kicked off with a homage to Scuderia Ferrari’s 90th anniversary and to iconic cars such as the 250 GTO on display in the area dedicated to the Ferrari Classiche.

Protagonist also the 488 GTE on display together with the winning trophy from this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The exhibition also celebrated the marque’s intangible values, first and foremost the passion shared by the community of customers and brought to life through events organized by the Prancing Horse such as Corse Clienti, Competizioni GT and, last but not least, the Cavalcades – exclusive, unique voyages that pay homage to the pleasure of driving.

The Fiorano track contributed to the event with varied activities including the very first test drives for the lucky prospective clients of the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2, forerunners of the “Icona”.

Ferrari’s wider family of fans too was central to this great celebration with openings dedicated to them over the last two weekends of the month.

Petronas, 6 GLC’s Organise Business Opportunity Day

A Collective Effort to Expand GLC Vendors’ Market Base and Capability

PETRONAS and six Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) organised a GLC Business Opportunity Day recently, as a collective effort to benefit local entrepreneurs in expanding their capabilities and businesses.

The event, targeting Bumiputra entrepreneurs in Small and Medium Industries (SMIs), and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), saw representatives from PETRONAS, Celcom (M) Berhad, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), Tabung Haji (TH) Plantations Berhad, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Tenaga Nasional Berhad and UMW Holdings Berhad.

The representatives provided comprehensive information at their respective booths to more than 700 vendors, offering guidance and assistance on procurement procedures, job descriptions and application evaluation, among others.

The GLCs also shared insights on licensing and registration processes, business opportunities and procurement activities in various presentation sessions. Seven financial institutions under Petronas’ Access to Financing (A2F) programme were also on hand, offering financial advice and solutions.

Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Mohd Yusof who officiated the event said the aim is to have more Bumiputra SMIs and SMEs growing and enhancing their capabilities, expanding their footprint across industries and to be more resilient and competitive.

“Vendor development is crucial to ensure that all of us can exist together in the ecosystem and to contribute to the growth of Malaysia, in line with the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030,” he added.

The Minister also urged participants to strive towards making Malaysia a producing nation and a hub for various sectors by having the confidence to showcase local vendors’ capabilities.

Petronas Vice President, Group Procurement, Samsudin Miskon, who is also the organising Chairman of GLC Business Opportunity Day, said the event should be used by the GLC vendors as a platform to build partnerships, widen their offerings and increase their market base.

GLC Business Opportunity Day is one of the initiatives under the Petronas Lestari programme, a Bumiputra vendor enhancement initiative launched earlier this year by Petronas and the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development.

SAMSUNG Malaysia Electronics announced the pre-order of the Galaxy Fold a completely new category of mobile technology will be available starting 9th October 2019!

The Galaxy Fold was designed to inspire new experiences: When closed, you can access your essentials on the cover display comfortably with one hand; and when opened, you can explore new ways to multitask, watch videos, play games, and more, on its immersive 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display.

For the past several months, Samsung has been refining the Galaxy Fold to ensure it delivers the best possible experience. Not only did Samsung improve the Galaxy Fold’s design and construction, but it also took the time to rethink the entire consumer journey.

“The category-defining Galaxy Fold is a device that defies the barriers of traditional smartphone design.

Now, we’re excited to release this pioneering mobile technology, and allow consumers to experience it for themselves,” said Yoonsoo Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

“From the moment you pick it up, to the moment you close it, Galaxy Fold unlocks a completely new way for you to use your mobile device. It’s designed to have a seamless experience folded or unfolded and optimized for the Android ecosystem,” he added.

The Galaxy Fold combines users’ favorite smartphone and tablet features to deliver a new kind of mobile device and a first-of-its-kind user experience from a new form factor and materials to its unique foldable UX, versatile camera and premium performance.

Samsung worked alongside partners to create an entirely new UX that will change the way we use our mobile devices and takes full advantage of the foldable design with its cover and main displays. As a result, the device opens up new possibilities for users.

The Galaxy Fold transforms how you capture, share, and edit mobile content. When closed, you can shoot a quick video, and then simply open the device to watch it on a larger screen with App Continuity, the video seamlessly transitions from the cover display to the main display.

With Multi-Active Window, you can run multiple apps at once in real-time and effectively multitask: Edit footage, browse through the photo gallery for still shots, and read emails from friends and co-workers, all at the same time.

Dua Pemilik Isuzu D-Max Terima Hadiah Kejutan

Isuzu

Honor Band 5’s Brings Latest Feature’s

Global smartphone brand HONOR announced that the Pulse Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) monitoring and remote music control feature is coming to the HONOR Band 5 via an OTA (over-the-air) update on 29 September.

It will be making it an even more indispensable accessory for those looking for an all-in-one fitness tracker, heart rate monitor and sleep tracker.

The device is currently available to purchase at only RM139 in conjunction with HONOR’s Pay Day Sale on hihonor.com/my/, happening from 27 September till 10 October.

SpO2 monitoring will be added to all HONOR Band 5’s via an OTA software update available beginning 29 September. Users can access it through the Huawei Health app and click “check for updates”.

This will prompt the band to update automatically. Once the Band 5 and Huawei Health app have received their free update, users can choose the ‘blood oxygen monitoring’ option on their Band 5, click to start measuring, and then see the results on the Band 5.*

Blood oxygen saturation measurement is a key indicator of the oxygen supply to cells and tissues. Good blood oxygenation is necessary to supply energy to your muscles in order to function well.

Blood oxygen levels between 90% and 100% are normal, while a SpO2 value below 89% could be a signal to stop exercising or seek medical attention.2

*The SpO2 monitor is not designed to be a medical device, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. All data and measurements should be used for personal reference only.

HONOR is also adding remote music controls to the Band 5 via the 29 September update. Once the Band 5 is updated and music control is switched on via the Huawei Health app, customers can use the Band 5 to instantly view and control their favorite music apps right from their wrist.

Apps supported include Google Play Music, Spotify, YouTube, Shazam, Huawei music and many more. Remote music control is compatible only with smartphones running Android 5.0 and above.

After the upgrade, the Huawei Health app will be running on version 10.0.1.011 and Band 5 will be on version 1.1.0.93.

The HONOR Band 5’s new SpO2 monitor joins its existing suite of features, including a 0.95” AMOLED Full Colour touchscreen, multiple sports and fitness modes and up to 14 days of normal usage from a single battery charge.

Coinciding the OTA update with World Heart Day 2019, HONOR hopes to encourage consumers to pay more attention to the health of their heart with the latest Huawei TruSeen™ 3.5 heart rate technology, which provides accurate 24-hour real-time continuous heart rate monitoring to help users keep track of their health and fitness.

On top of that, the TruSleep™ technology is able to track and monitor sleep quality and provide more than 200 customised suggestions to improve sleep quality.
