Leading AI device ecosystem company HONOR has entered into a strategic technical collaboration with ARRI, the world-renowned designer and manufacturer of professional camera technology for cinematic storytelling. This landmark partnership marks a significant step in extending established cinematic standards into the rapidly evolving world of mobile imaging.
By uniting HONOR’s advanced mobile imaging capabilities with ARRI’s century-long heritage in defining cinematic image quality, the collaboration reflects a shared ambition to unlock new creative possibilities and extend cinematic standards for visual expression from the world of high-end filmmaking to the next generation of content creators.
“HONOR is pioneering a new era of mobile imaging, where technology exists to inspire creativity and storytelling,” says James Li, CEO of HONOR. “ARRI has defined the visual language of cinema for generations. Through this collaboration, we are bringing those cinematic standards and professional workflows into mobile imaging, enabling creators to craft stories with greater authenticity and emotional depth.”
A Century of Cinematic Excellence as Foundation for Mobile Content Creators
For more than a century, ARRI has helped shape how cinematic stories are told — from the early days of film to today’s most advanced digital camera systems. A commitment that’s been recognized with 20 Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
“Today, consumer smartphones have already become a serious tool in professional filmmaking, being used on blockbusters across the globe. That’s why we believe it is time to bring these worlds even closer together. For the first time ever, core elements of ARRI Image Science are being integrated directly into a consumer device,” says David Bermbach, Managing Director at ARRI.
Translating ARRI Image Science into Mobile Technology
In cinema, image science is not a filter or an effect — it is the foundation of how an image is created. It determines how colors feel natural, how highlights and shadows are rendered, and how images consistently behave from capture to final screen. Drawing on ARRI’s Image Science foundation, the collaboration applies core cinematic imaging principles to HONOR’s mobile imaging architecture.
“Smartphones operate under fundamentally different constraints: smaller sensors, highly integrated SoCs, different optical stacks, and different bandwidth limits. The challenge is not to replicate cinema hardware, but to translate the underlying principles into compact, real-time mobile architectures,” says Dr. Benedikt von Lindeiner, Vice President at ARRI and responsible for the technical collaboration with HONOR.
“Our goal is to bring a true cinematic aesthetic to smartphone imaging — natural color, gentle highlight roll-off, and a sense of depth that feels authentic to how stories are meant to be seen. Creators should be able to move seamlessly from mobile capture into professional post-production workflows.”

Robot Phone, Spesis Telefon Pintar Baharu

Step inside any Malaysian home and you’ll feel it immediately – that unmistakable heaviness clinging to your skin, your clothes, sometimes even your walls. It’s humidity, so deeply woven into the tropical existence that for decades, we barely questioned it.
We’ve long accepted the trade-offs: sticky monsoon mornings, laundry that refuses to dry, that persistent musty smell in forgotten corners. But something has shifted. The rains are coming harder now.
The heat stretches longer. And that familiar discomfort no longer fades as it once did. What Malaysians once dismissed as a minor inconvenience is now reshaping how we think about
comfort at home – and the numbers prove it.
According to research by Mobility Foresights, Malaysia’s dehumidifier market is set to grow at over 7% annually between 2022 and 2027, with demand projected to nearly double by 2031. This isn’t just a market trend. It’s evidence of a national awakening.
Malaysians are finally recognising a truth we’ve overlooked for too long: humidity isn’t harmless background noise. It’s the silent culprit behind mouldy walls, chronic allergies, and sleepless nights.
When indoor humidity climbs above 60% – a common occurrence in Malaysian homes during monsoon season – it becomes more than discomfort. It becomes an open invitation for mould, mildew, and dust mites to colonise your living space.
The consequences cascade quietly. Allergies intensify. Respiratory issues multiply, particularly among children and elderly family members. Wooden furniture warps. Electronics corrode from within.
That expensive leather sofa develops mildew. Important documents deteriorate in storage.
For families with young children or ageing parents, the health implications are particularly severe: more frequent respiratory infections, disrupted sleep patterns, and a home environment that subtly undermines rather than supports well-being.
The typical Malaysian response has always been straightforward: turn up the air conditioning. But while cooling brings temporary relief, it leaves the core problem untouched. Standard air conditioners remove some moisture as a byproduct of cooling, but once the room reaches the set temperature, the compressor cycles off.
Moisture lingers long after temperatures drop, leaving air that feels cool but remains uncomfortably damp – and homes that never quite feel fresh. This is where dehumidifiers are stepping out of obscurity and into Malaysian living rooms.
Once relegated to industrial warehouses and commercial kitchens, these appliances are rapidly becoming household essentials.
On Feb 25, Samsung Electronics hosted Galaxy Unpacked 2026 in San Francisco, unveiling the third generation of AI phones, Galaxy S26 series.
Maggie Kang, the co-director of KPOP DEMON HUNTERS, joined Galaxy Unpacked 2026 as the event’s creative partner, shaping the experience from concept to stage. Kang brought a distinct creative perspective to the launch with her cultural authenticity and imaginative world-building.
Samsung Newsroom sat down with Kang to discuss her involvement in Galaxy Unpacked 2026 and how she approached blending culture, creativity and innovation.
Q. The meeting of a cultural icon like you and technology is refreshing. How did you come to take on this role?
Thank you! What excited me about this collaboration wasn’t just the opportunity to advise on an event, but the chance to explore how storytelling and technology intersect. Samsung has long been at the forefront of innovation, and I see technology as a powerful creative medium in itself.
Samsung represents a unique bridge between heritage and the future – something I deeply relate to in my own work. This felt less like a typical partnership and more like a shared creative dialogue about how culture and technology can shape new experiences together.
Q. What stood out to you about collaborating with Samsung for the first time? Were there any memorable moments?
I was truly impressed by how open-minded Samsung was throughout the collaboration. I pitched a few ideas that might have been considered a bit unconventional for a tech brand like Samsung, but they were incredibly receptive.
This kind of openness allowed us to explore new creative possibilities together. One memorable moment was when we worked together in person while I was visiting Seoul last
December. It was more than just a productive session; it felt like a shared creative journey.
The team went out of their way to create an atmosphere where collaboration flowed naturally, even providing delicious local snacks to enjoy during our sessions. Those moments really stood out — they added a personal touch to the professional experience and helped foster a deeper sense of connection.
Q. What did you focus on most when advising on the creative aspects of the event?
As with everything I do, the first thing I focused on was always the story — how can we craft an experience that truly connects with the audience? How do we make technology feel relatable to users?
For me, it was also essential to weave in the Korean element. Samsung, headquartered in Korea, carries with it a legacy that holds a unique cultural significance. I wanted to ensure that this heritage wasn’t just acknowledged but lived through the narrative, even in subtle ways. Whether it’s through visual storytelling or cultural references, I felt it was important to keep that spirit alive, creating a deeper connection for both local and global audiences.
Q. What is the one thing you want the audience to take away from the event?
I hope the audience walks away with a sense of excitement about how Samsung is pushing
boundaries and exploring new creative directions. The team truly took bold steps, showcasing ideas we haven’t seen from Samsung before. I want them to appreciate not just the innovation, but the openness — Samsung is embracing a spirit of openness that redefines what the brand stands for.
Q. As you worked on Galaxy Unpacked 2026, how did you view Samsung’s role in shaping
culture through technology?
Honestly, I learned so much from working with the Samsung team. There’s so much Samsung is doing to advance technology to improve our lives. I found myself telling the team “I need this right now” many many times! And because so much is being done by Samsung, I really wanted to help get that message across to users— that’s what Galaxy Unpacked 2026 is all about!
What excited me most was helping convey the event’s message: “Stars by Your Side.” Through this theme, we wanted to make AI experiences feel closer, more approachable, and personal to users.
Collaborating with Samsung allowed me to see firsthand how technology can connect with people on a cultural and emotional level, and to bring that story to the audience in a meaningful way.
Q. Do you plan to continue this type of cross-industry collaboration in the future?
Absolutely, I would love to continue! Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see how these skills can bring new perspectives and creativity to the tech space.
Collaborating across industries allows for exciting intersections between culture, narrative, and innovation, and I hope to keep exploring these opportunities to create experiences that are both meaningful and inspiring.
London-based technology company Nothing has last night unveiled Phone (4a) in pink, the first time this vibrant colourway has been introduced across its product portfolio.
To Nothing, pink is not just another colourway. It is a nod to tech that’s expressive and optimistic, rather than neutral. It’s a recognition of the role that art, music, fashion and pop culture play in inspiring our design language.
To mark the launch of the pink colourway, Nothing has launched several cheeky activities across London including:
Disruptive graffiti across our flyposters in central London featuring cultural references relating to the colour pink
Pink graffiti takeover of the Nothing Store Soho window
Lucy Birley, Colour Material Finish Design Lead at Nothing, discussed the inspiration behind pink, noting “there’s a lot of amazing old tech references that we go back to very often.”
Birely explains “pink is actually just desaturated red” and “when we put the tint inside the transparency, because of how the light interacts with the resin underneath you get this incredible sense of depth which makes our products look really lively and we do have all of this detail under the transparency, so it’s really nice to celebrate that.
LG Electronics Malaysia (LG) recently unveiled the LG CordZero™ A9X All-in-One Tower™, advancing its premium cordless vacuum line-up with LG’s first-of-its-kind vacuum and steam cleaning integration that delivers a more complete approach to home floor care.
The CordZero™ A9X represents a significant leap forward from the A9T series by introducing integrated steam and spray mop functionality in select variants, eliminating the need for multiple cleaning tools and enabling households to vacuum and deep clean floors in a single workflow.
This integration addresses a longstanding gap in cordless vacuum technology, where users have traditionally needed separate appliances to achieve thorough floor cleaning.
At the heart of the A9X’s enhanced performance is an upgraded LG Smart Inverter Motor™ that generates up to 280W of suction power, a substantial increase that enables more effective removal of embedded dirt and debris.
This performance is complemented by upgraded multi-surface nozzle options, designed to adapt more effectively to different floor types and cleaning needs. Together, these enhancements support more efficient dust pickup and consistent cleaning performance through well-integrated engineering.
“The home appliance market has reached an inflexion point where consumers are no longer satisfied with products that simply perform a single function well. They want solutions that adapt to their lives and solve multiple problems without adding complexity,” said Justin Choi, Managing Director of LG Electronics Malaysia.
“The CordZero™ A9X embodies this shift by combining categories that have traditionally been separate, delivering vacuum and steam cleaning in one intelligent system. It’s part of LG’s broader commitment to creating smart life solutions that anticipate needs and remove unnecessary steps from daily routines, making home care genuinely simpler rather than just more technologically advanced.”
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today introduced its latest Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy Buds4, redefining what premium earbuds can deliver in both superior hi-fi audio and everyday wearability.
Built to sound as good as they feel, the Galaxy Buds4 series pairs exceptional sound quality with a more refined, computationally designed fit, bringing Samsung’s most advanced audio and wearability innovations together in one seamless experience.
For the first time, Buds4 Pro features a wider woofer, combined with enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and an enhanced Adaptive Equalizer (EQ), to supply full-spectrum sound true to the original recording — while intelligently adapting to real-world conditions.
Thoughtful design updates, intuitive hands-free controls, and deeper AI integration further underscore Samsung’s commitment to earbuds designed for how people listen, move and live throughout the day.
“Samsung understands that a truly premium audio experience combines technical sound quality with how that sound feels throughout a user’s day,” said Ikhyun Cho, Corporate VP of Mobile Enhancement R&D Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
“With the Galaxy Buds4 series, our design philosophy was uncompromising, providing all-day comfort without sacrificing audio performance, because these are what consumers value most. We engineered our most powerful hi-fi audio and our most secure, ergonomic fit to enhance one another, delivering the best listening experience we’ve ever created.”
Computational Design Optimized for Enhanced Stability and All-Day Comfort
With the Buds4 series, Samsung establishes an iconic Buds blade design identity, a computational design achieved by analyzing data from hundreds of millions of global ear data points and running over 10,000 simulations.
The Buds4 series features an ultra-sleek, ergonomic fit with smaller, better-fitting earbud heads to deliver a more secure, comfortable experience during all-day wear. The new stabilized blade includes a premium metal finish and an engraved pinch control area to help

Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Buds4 offer distinct design architectures to meet different needs. Galaxy Buds4 Pro features a canal-fit design that combines ultimate sound with maximum functionality.
The open-fit design of Galaxy Buds4 delivers a comfortable, user-friendly audio experience. Customers also have the option to choose from several distinct colorways, with Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Buds4 available in White and Black with a refined matte finish — as well as an online-exclusive Pink Gold for Buds4 Pro.
Superior Hi-Fi Sound With Innovative Hardware Updates
Larger speakers offer better sound quality, and Buds4 Pro introduces a new wider woofer, featuring a new design that makes efficient use of space. By maximizing the vibration area and minimizing the speaker’s edge, the wider woofer increases the effective speaker area by almost 20% compared to the previous generation without sacrificing wearability.
Combined with the tweeter, these features deliver natural, immersive audio with clean bass and rich treble that supports 24-bit/96kHz audio — ultimately delivering high-fidelity sound true to the original recording.
These hardware enhancements capture everything from the high, resonant sounds of violins to the deep, throaty pulses of double basses — details that were difficult to reproduce in earlier generations. The two-way speaker is strategically placed on the upper side of the metal finish to maximize Active Noise Cancellation functionality while minimizing feedback from wind and other external factors.
