Continental PJ organizes an expedition to Mount Kinabalu as part of their internal CSR activity

THREE employees of a German based multinational corporation, Continental, scaled Malaysia’s highest peak- Mount Kinabalu. The expedition was organized as part of the corporation’s fitness program for the employees.

The expedition was led by Ravi Tharmalingam from Global Expedition Club of Malaysia who conquered Mount Everest in the year 2003 and has lead mountaineering expeditions throughout the globe.

Fitness for ALL program was launched early 2018 by Continental PJ which aimed at helping employees in reaching optimum health and fitness level.

Various activities were organized where the participants hiked mountains throughout Malaysia along with other fitness programs.

3 employees were chosen as finalists; Mohd Iylia Abdullah, Shahrul Niam Alias and Khairuddin Mohd Noor who had tremendous improvement in their fitness level.

“The program has definitely been a life-changing experience and I am grateful to have had this opportunity to make a difference in my lifestyle“, said Muhamad Iylia Abdullah.

“The Fitness For All program and the Mount Kinabalu Expedition is but a part of Continental Tyre Malaysia’s overall initiative to encourage employee health and well-being.

We are very proud of what all participants have achieved but especially our 3 finalists who reached Malaysia’s highest peak”, said Cameron Wilson, the Managing Director.

The 3 employees who were the finalists of the Fitness for All program went through a guided fitness program, medical and fitness evaluations before finally being qualified for the expedition.

The program was organized by the Communications Department which was supported by a committee which comprised of representatives of various departments within the organization.
