Following a series of teasers, HONOR today announces that Malaysia will be among the first markets to welcome the highly anticipated HONOR X9e Pro, launching on 24 September 2026.
Building on the X Series’ reputation as Pilihan Utama Rakyat Malaysia, the latest addition pushes the limits with five No. 1 credentials: largest battery capacity, durability, water resistance, brightest display and Malaysia’s best-selling mid-range smartphone series.
During an exclusive media briefing today, HONOR demonstrated the smartphone’s industry-leading Armor-Tough Drop Resistance by firing a high-impact air gun projectiles at directly at its display under controlled conditions. Despite repeated impacts, the screen and body remained intact and free from visible cracks, demonstrating the device’s robust durability and all-round protection.

The HONOR X9e Pro’s extreme durability is powered by the new HONOR Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 4.0, inspired by the Halo Safety System used in Formula 1 racing. Engineered for harsh environments, it can withstand drops of up to 3 meters across 10 challenging surfaces, including cobblestone, asphalt and rough granite.
Its 360° Dynamic Drop Resistance also protects against unpredictable drops from multiple angles, withstanding all-angle dynamic drops of up to 1.2 meters and reducing the risk of screen damage by 82%. This has earned the device SGS-Certified 5 Stars Comprehensive Reliability for comprehensive reliability and drop resistance under harsh conditions.
During the event, the HONOR X9e Pro successfully endured a series of extreme durability tests. It was used to hammer nails into wood, smash metal cans and withstand the impact of a metal ball launched from a slingshot. Media representatives were also invited to fire an air gun directly at the device under controlled conditions. Despite repeated high-impact shots, the phone survived and remained fully operational, demonstrating the strength of its Armor-Tough construction.

The HONOR X9e Pro features a massive 11,000mAh battery, a significant leap from the previous generation’s 8,300mAh capacity. During the event, its immense capacity was illustrated through eye-catching comparisons: one HONOR X9e Pro packs the equivalent battery capacity of more than two iPhone 16 Pro Max devices, 183 earbuds, and even surpasses the once impressive 10,000mAh power bank. This enables users to stay connected throughout long commutes, outdoor work and demanding daily tasks on a single charge.
With 27W wired reverse charging, the HONOR X9e Pro also doubles as a powerful portable power source. During the demonstration, it simultaneously charged an iPhone, smartwatch and earbuds while powering a portable monitor. When it needs a boost, 80W HONOR SuperCharge delivers fast and efficient charging with minimal downtime.
No. 1 Ultra-Tough Water Resistance
Completing the HONOR X9e Pro’s extreme durability is its industry-leading water resistance, backed by IP68, IP69 and the highest IP69K rating. IP69K protection enables the device to withstand powerful, high-pressure water jets and high-temperature water, offering greater confidence during heavy rain, food deliveries, water sports, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Despite already reaching the highest level of IP-rated protection, HONOR pushed its water resistance even further. The HONOR X9e Pro can withstand immersion at depths of up to 10m and has been tested through 100,000 submersion cycles, enabling users to capture underwater photos with greater peace of mind.
Inspired by submarine waterproof architecture, the device features a three-layer sealing system and independent protection around key openings, including the buttons, speaker, USB-C port and SIM tray. A precision drainage system around the speaker further manages water exposure while maintaining everyday usability.

During the session, HONOR placed the X9e Pro alongside smartphones from other brands under direct sunlight, demonstrating the difference in screen clarity and visibility under bright outdoor conditions.
NO.1 Best-Selling Mid-range Smartphone Series
The HONOR X9e Pro builds on the strong track record of the X Series, Malaysia’s No. 1 Best-Selling Mid-Range Smartphone Series. As of March 2026, the series had held the top position for 37 consecutive months, reaching a peak market share of 77%, equivalent to more than three out of every four smartphones sold in the mid-range segment at its peak.
In Q1 2026, HONOR also achieved a 21% share of Malaysia’s overall smartphone market, with the X Series serving as one of the key drivers behind the brand’s performance. With even greater upgrades, the HONOR X9e Pro is set to continue the X Series’ strong reputation as Pilihan Utama Rakyat Malaysia while reinforcing HONOR’s position as a trusted choice among Malaysian consumers.
Ahead of the launch, HONOR also unveiled the device’s four colour options, each featuring a premium metallic-look finish: Royal Purple, Dawn Gold, Reddish Brown and Midnight Black.
