HONOR, a global leader in AI device ecosystems, is the official technology partner of Sarawak English Literacy Conference (SELC) 2025, a three-day event held in Kuching from 17 to 19 September.
Under this partnership, HONOR serves as a technology advisor to SELC, aiming to break down industry barriers through open collaboration and create a value-sharing ecosystem within Sarawak’s education transformation program.
To commemorate this partnership, HONOR and the Layar Education Development Committee (LEDC), the organiser of SELC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the event today.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Sarawak Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation
and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee; and Sarawak Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu.
As part of the collaboration, HONOR contributed to education development in underserved
communities by donating HONOR Pad 9 WiFi tablets to students in the Layar district of Betong.
This initiative ensures rural learners have better access to technology and digital tools, helping to bridge the digital divide.

“At the conference, Justin also participated in a panel discussion titled The 21st-century classroom: How educational technology is reshaping English literacy learning,” He shared how HONOR’s product innovation and advanced AI capabilities, specifically the AI Note suite, can reshape education.
This suite includes powerful tools like Minutes, which transcribes lectures in real time, and AI Summary, which condenses complex texts. For example, a teacher explaining Shakespeare’s sonnets can use the Minutes tool to capture vocabulary, poetic devices, and student questions, then share the full transcript with the class as a valuable study aid, making the lesson more effective.
Additionally, AI Summary helps students quickly grasp the main ideas of academic documents, news articles, or other lengthy materials. By focusing on core concepts, students can build their comprehension skills and identify key information more efficiently.
Furthermore, HONOR’s seamless device ecosystem, which connects smartphones, tablets, and laptops, promotes a fluid and continuous learning experience. This integration fosters a
collaborative and tech-enabled environment, empowering students to learn more effectively.

During the event, HONOR also showcased its latest smartphones, tablets, and laptops, at a booth. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the brand’s innovative technology firsthand, featuring the new HONOR X9d 5G, 400 Pro, Magic V5, MagicPad 3, Pad 10, MagicBook Art 14 2025, and MagicBook 14 Pro.
The SELC 2025 has support from the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development\(KPWK) and the Sarawak State Education Department (JPNS).
