Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera Malaysia plays a big role in helping unemployed Bumiputera graduates to get a job.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof (special functions) said unemployed graduates especially Bumiputera is a concern but it can be alleviated by agencies such as Yayasan Peneraju.
“I have said many times that unemployed graduates is partly caused by universities which offer courses which industries do not want anymore.

Institutes of higher learning should offer courses which is market trending and in line with industries demand and requirements.
“The government can’t absorb all these unemployed graduates anymore as its administration is already bloated.
“So to address this issue, we have introduced re-skilling and up-skilling programmes organised by Yayasan Peneraju to remould them to meet industry requirements and become employable again,” Redzuan said in a live dialogue session via Facebook with Yayasan Peneraju top scorers in the recent SPM 2020 examinations.

Redzuan said as an example, a graduate can learn a module to re-skill or upskill under the guidance of Yayasan Peneraju.
We cant carry out business as usual if we don’t provide the necessary tools/encouragement, if not the unemployed rate among Bumiputera graduates will continue to rise.
Also present was Yayasan Peneraju chief executive officer Mohd Muzzammil Ismail.
Redzuan said the government and its agencies will guide and encourage Bumiputera students and graduates by using existing data analytics so that they become true professionals.

“In the end, work (job opportunities will chase you and not you chasing the job.”
He added as an example, the financial services sector is one area which has less than 10 percent of Bumiputera professionals.
“So there is a huge void there for Bumiputera graduates to fill but it is not easy to achieve.
“But with the support from everybody including Yayasan Peneraju, that void can be filled by holding programmes and establishing strategic partnerships to roll out the human capital needed to meet industry demands,” said Redzuan.
