With a distinctive line-up of celebrations, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara is set to celebrate the Holy month that will bring one on a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

Once again, the French luxury hotel brand has collaborated with none other than Dato’ Chef Haji Ismail Ahmad to provide a feast that will please your taste buds no end with the very best of traditional Malay cuisine from the different states around the country.

Kwee Zeen, the Hotel’s all-day dining restaurant will be transformed into a slice of an old Malaysian gallery, with antique decorations that adds character to the ambiance and theme. The Hotel’s Executive Chef Fabrice Bruto, together with celebrity Chef Dato’ Haji Ismail Ahmad promise to provide guests with authentic flavours of traditional Malay cuisine. Themed “Nostalgic Feast”, guests can enjoy a rich spread of unique and diverse tastes of kampung-inspired dishes at Kwee Zeen.

The salad bar offers Pecal, Tauhu Sumbat, Lawar Pucuk Betik, Acar Jelatah, Kerabu Mangga Muda, Kerabu Taugeh dan Kerang, Kerabu Aneka Laut dan Soo Hoon, Kerabu Daging Bakar, and more to kick start your appetite.

Among the main courses are Ayam Percik Kelantan, Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Padi, Asam Pedas Ikan Pari, Sambal Udang Petai, Telur Itik Masak Lemak Cili Api among others.

Highlights of the main course spread are celebrity chef Dato’ Haji Ismail Ahmad’s creations exclusively designed for Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara which includes Botak-Botak Ikan Tenggiri, Paru Berlada, Ayam Kaloi, Daging Masak Hitam, Dalca Sayur, Udang Masak Lemak Nenas, Ikan Pari Asam Pedas, as well as a selection of Panggang Purba served with Malay rice.

Apart from that, the buffet will also feature international fare, which includes Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Western favourites.

There will also be live stations, offering everything from Roti Canai, Murtabak Ayam, Pisang Goreng and others. For dessert lovers, indulge in a wide variety of heavenly local Malaysian delicacies like Bubur Cha-Cha, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Bubur Pengat Pisang, Bubur Serawa Durian, a vast selection of Malay kuih-muih, assorted cakes, and pastries, just to name a few.

Moreover, there will also be refreshing traditional beverages such as Janda Pulang, a super hydrating drink packed with all the essential minerals and nutrients from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan.

“We strive to elevate the guests’ dining experience as much as possible by using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods to retain the original taste of each dish. Besides all that, the best recipes are still patience and cooking from the heart,” said celebrity Chef Dato’ Haji Ismail Ahmad.

“Though he has a hectic schedule to keep to, celebrity Chef Dato’ Haji Ismail Ahmad spent 3 days with my team and I sharing some of his greatest tips, tricks and cooking technique for our preparation”, said Fabrice Bruto, Executive Chef of Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara.
