GAC Malaysia Expands Brand Ambassador Line-Up with Datuk Remy Ishak

GAC Malaysia proudly welcomes award-winning actor and renowned Malaysian personality Datuk Remy Ishak as its newest GAC Brand Ambassador, joining fellow ambassador Jack Lim in representing the brand.

The appointment comes at a time of rapid development for GAC Malaysia as its domestic brand presence continues to grow, fueled by the impending arrival of the second locally-assembled GAC EMKOO C-SUV and the fully-imported GAC M8 PHEV MPV.

Remy rose to national fame through his memorable performance in the hit TV drama “Nurkasih”, and is widely recognized in Malaysia for his work both on screen and in public engagements.

With his strong public presence and charismatic personality, he has represented various well-known brands over the years. His grounded personality, professionalism, and strong connection with local audiences make him a great fit for GAC Malaysia as the brand continues to build its presence in the market.

He now joins fellow Malaysian celebrity Jack Lim, who was appointed as GAC Malaysia’s first Brand Ambassador in 2024, as the latest face of the brand under the ONE GAC initiative.

As part of the event, GAC Malaysia also highlighted the ongoing pre-sales campaign for two of its highly anticipated models. The GAC EMKOO, the second locally assembled SUV by GAC, is admired not only for its future-styled design, but also for its spacious interior and class-leading cargo space.

It is available for pre-booking in two variants: the Premium, with an estimated price from RM120,000, and the Premium Pro, from RM130,000. The GAC EMKOO is powered by a 1.5TGDI engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and is backed by a 5-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, along with a 7-year or 180,000km engine and powertrain warranty, whichever comes first.

Following the press conference, Tan Keng Meng presented a symbolic GAC EMKOO key to both Remy Ishak and Jack Lim, announcing that the two brand ambassadors will be among the first to own the GAC EMKOO in Malaysia. The first batch of GAC EMKOO customer deliveries is expected to begin by the end of September 2025 or possibly even sooner.

Meanwhile, the GAC M8 PHEV, a flagship MPV that delivers a striking balance of performance and hybrid efficiency, is expected to be priced at an estimated RM333,000 for the M8 Premium and RM380,000 for the M8 Luxury.

Consisting of a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and dedicated two-step hybrid transmission, the plug-in hybrid powertrain of the GAC M8 PHEV delivers a best-in-class combined driving range of 1,038km.

Samsung Electronics Earns Marker of Global Trust With EU RED Certification

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that its latest TVs, monitors and commercial display products have been technically evaluated for compliance with the European Union’s
Radio Equipment Directive (RED), including updated cybersecurity requirements that take effect on August 1, 2025.

“With the growing emphasis on security in the industry, we are strengthening security features to stay ahead of this evolving trend,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“In addition to this achievement, we are committed to introducing innovations with advanced security and technology globally, thereby reinforcing customer trust in our solutions.”

The EU’s RED, introduced in 2016, establishes essential requirements for the safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and efficient spectrum use of radio-equipped products. In 2022, the EU announced expanded cybersecurity rules under the RED to improve protection against network threats, safeguard personal data, and reduce the risk of fraud.

These new provisions will become mandatory starting August 2025. The TÜV SÜD assessment covers Samsung’s entire 2024–2025 visual display lineup for the European
market, including TVs, monitors, digital signage, and Color E-Paper.

Samsung One UI 8 Beta will be Open for More Galaxy Devices

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the expansion of its ongoing One UI 8 beta program to additional Galaxy devices. The update sets the foundation for advanced multimodal capabilities to more Galaxy devices across various form factors, along with more intuitive Galaxy AI experiences that simplify everyday routines.

Initially introduced with the Galaxy S25 series in May, the One UI 8 beta program will include the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 beginning next week in Korea, the U.S., the U.K. and India.

In September, availability will extend to even more devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, A36 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, and A54. Users can register for the beta program via the Samsung Members app.

One UI 8 delivers smarter, more convenient AI experiences through multimodal capabilities that understands users’ real-time context and supports more natural interactions. PPZ-MAIWP, AmanahRaya Meterai MoU

Pusat Pungutan Zakat, Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP) dan Amanah Raya Berhad (AmanahRaya) memeterai kerjasama strategik, dengan fokus utama untuk mempertingkat kesedaran awam mengenai kepentingan berzakat, di samping memperhebat amalan wakaf sebagai instrumen yang menyumbang kepada kesejahteraan umat Islam pada 6 Ogos 2025.

Majlis menandatangani Perjanjian Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) di antara kedua agensi tersebut diadakan di ibu pejabat PPZ-MAIWP.

Menerusi MoU ini, pelbagai inisiatif akan dilaksanakan berkaitan zakat dan wakaf tunai, juga perkongsian kepakaran dalam penyediaan perkhidmatan lain yang dapat memberi nilai tambah kepada pelanggan oleh PPZ-MAIWP.

Ini termasuk perkhidmatan rundingan zakat dan wakaf tunai secara fizikal dan dalam talian, penyediaan kaunter zakat bergerak dan digital, serta tawaran Kad Setia di Hospital Pusrawi kepada pelanggan AmanahRaya yang membayar zakat harta sekurang-kurangnya RM10,000 setahun.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif PPZ-MAIWP, Datuk Haji Abdul Hakim Amir Osman berkata, MoU yang dimeterai ini telah membuka lembaran baharu dalam usaha memperluaskan dakwah zakat dan wakaf.

“MoU ini bukan sekadar dokumen formal, ianya mencerminkan kesungguhan kedua-dua pihak untuk mengembleng tenaga, menyusun strategi dalam menyampaikan perkhidmatan yang lebih holistik dan mesra pengguna kepada masyarakat.

“Kerjasama strategik ini membawa objektif dan matlamat yang jelas serta signifikan sekaligus membuka peluang kepada pelanggan kedua-dua pihak untuk menikmati manfaat dan perkhidmatan yang ditawarkan secara bersama,” katanya.

Sementara itu, Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan Amanah Raya Berhad, Ahmad Feizal Sulaiman Khan turut menyatakan bahawa kerjasama ini merupakan contoh terbaik kolaborasi strategik antara agensi zakat dan pengurusan harta pusaka di Malaysia.

Ia bukan sekadar memudahkan urusan pembayaran zakat, tetapi juga membawa visi lebih besar ke arah membina ekosistem ekonomi Islam yang kukuh, mampan dan progresif. Melalui inisiatif ini, potensi agihan zakat dapat dioptimumkan, pengurusan harta dapat diperstruktur dengan lebih efisien dan kesejahteraan umat Islam dapat ditingkatkan.
