President of HONOR South Pacific, Justin Li (middle) with Sarawak Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and
Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee (3 rd from right); and Sarawak Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and
Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu (3 rd from left) during the SELC 2025 official launch today
HONOR, a global leader in AI device ecosystems, is the official technology partner of Sarawak English Literacy Conference (SELC) 2025, a three-day event held in Kuching from 17 to 19 September.
Under this partnership, HONOR serves as a technology advisor to SELC, aiming to break down industry barriers through open collaboration and create a value-sharing ecosystem within Sarawak’s education transformation program.
To commemorate this partnership, HONOR and the Layar Education Development Committee (LEDC), the organiser of SELC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the event today.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Sarawak Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation
and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee; and Sarawak Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu.
As part of the collaboration, HONOR contributed to education development in underserved
communities by donating HONOR Pad 9 WiFi tablets to students in the Layar district of Betong.
This initiative ensures rural learners have better access to technology and digital tools, helping to bridge the digital divide.
“We believe that technology can be a powerful catalyst for educational advancement,” said Justin Li, President of HONOR South Pacific.
Our collaboration with SELC is a testament to HONOR’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and equipping the young generation with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly connected world.
“We are excited to see how HONOR’s innovative devices and advanced AI tools will support the conference’s mission of strengthening English literacy.
“At the conference, Justin also participated in a panel discussion titled The 21st-century classroom: How educational technology is reshaping English literacy learning,” He shared how HONOR’s product innovation and advanced AI capabilities, specifically the AI Note suite, can reshape education.
This suite includes powerful tools like Minutes, which transcribes lectures in real time, and AI Summary, which condenses complex texts. For example, a teacher explaining Shakespeare’s sonnets can use the Minutes tool to capture vocabulary, poetic devices, and student questions, then share the full transcript with the class as a valuable study aid, making the lesson more effective.
Additionally, AI Summary helps students quickly grasp the main ideas of academic documents, news articles, or other lengthy materials. By focusing on core concepts, students can build their comprehension skills and identify key information more efficiently.
Furthermore, HONOR’s seamless device ecosystem, which connects smartphones, tablets, and laptops, promotes a fluid and continuous learning experience. This integration fosters a
collaborative and tech-enabled environment, empowering students to learn more effectively.

Melalui “The Vicissitudes of Life,” Profesor Lin sekali lagi menunjukkan bahawa seni adalah penghantar pemikiran dan hati nurani.
PETRONAS has successfully delivered Malaysia’s first blended Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to KL International Airport (KLIA) for the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), establishing PETRONAS’ in-house capability and readiness to provide continuous, scalable supply in Malaysia.
Locally blended at PETRONAS’ blending facilities, the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC)-certified SAF, which meets CORSIA-eligible fuel requirements, was delivered directly to KLIA via Malaysian Refining Company’s (MRCSB) multi-product pipeline, ensuring readily available SAF through its integrated supply chain.
“PETRONAS recognises its role in driving the global push towards decarbonisation, especially in progressing Malaysia’s net-zero ambition as a key enabler contributing to the development of future fuels. Decarbonising the aviation industry requires reliable pathways, and SAF represents one of the most immediate solutions available today.
This pilot project is a strategic long-term investment to build in-house capabilities through advancements in technology and infrastructure, as well as talent development to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions to our partners and customers,” said Ahmad Adly Alias, Vice President of Refining, Marketing and Trading, PETRONAS.
“This achievement has also effectively positioned us ahead in supporting the government’s targets for SAF under the 13th Malaysia Plan, reinforcing our commitment to national energy security and industrial growth,” he added.
The SAF will be uplifted for Malaysia Airlines’ daily late evening MH2 service from Kuala Lumpur to London between 1st to 16th September 2025, marking a tangible step in integrating SAF into its regular operations.

Canon Marketing Malaysia (Canon) unveiled three powerful new additions to its imaging portfolio, designed to empower filmmakers, content creators, and production crews in Malaysia. The launch introduces:
D227 → EOS C50 – the smallest and most versatile Cinema EOS hybrid camera to date.
CTZ236 → CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 – Canon’s widest-ever Cine-Servo lens, built for both cinematic and broadcast environments.
Canon L340 → RF85mm f/1.4L VCM – the first medium telephoto lens in Canon’s f/1.4 VCM hybrid prime series.
Together, these innovations expand Canon’s hybrid ecosystem, equipping creators with advanced tools for professional storytelling across film, broadcast, and content creation.
“As the creative landscape continues to evolve, Canon is proud to support Malaysian storytellers with tools that combine performance, flexibility, and innovation,” said Masato Yoshiie, President and CEO of Canon Marketing Malaysia. “From hybrid lenses to professional cinema cameras, these additions empower creators to push boundaries and capture stories with uncompromising quality.”
Empowering Creativity with the D227 Cinema EOS Camera
The Canon D227 is the most compact Cinema EOS camera ever built, yet it houses a powerful 7K full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV 7 processor. Capable of 7K 60P RAW video recording, 4K 120P, and 32MP still photography, the D227 bridges the gap between cinema and hybrid workflows.
The camera introduces open gate recording, unlocking the entire sensor area for maximum flexibility in post-production, enabling reframing for horizontal, vertical, or square formats from the same footage—ideal for both cinematic productions and social media content.
Its Simultaneous Crop Recording further streamlines production by capturing full-frame and cropped content simultaneously. Built for agility, the D227 features a modular design, detachable handle with dual XLR inputs, and extensive rigging options, making it suitable for large productions and fast-paced shoots alike.
CTZ236 Cine-Servo Lens: The Widest in Canon’s Lineup
Expanding Canon’s professional cinema lens range, the Canon CTZ236 Cine-Servo offers an ultra-wide 11mm focal length and 100-degree angle of view—the widest Cine-Servo lens Canon has ever built.
At just 3kg, it is lightweight enough for shoulder-mounted use, gimbals, cranes, or robotics, while delivering 8K HDR optical performance with an 11-blade iris for cinematic results.
The CTZ236 comes with a removable e-Xs V Digital Drive Unit, providing precise servo control, responsive iris handling, and advanced metadata output. Available in both RF and PL mount, it supports Cooke /i Technology™, ZEISS eXtended Data™, and Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF, making it ideal for cinema, live broadcast, and virtual production environments.
L340 Hybrid Lens: Intimate Narratives in a Compact Design
The Canon L340 is the first medium telephoto lens in Canon’s f/1.4 VCM hybrid prime series, joining the 20mm, 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm VCM lenses. With an 85mm focal length, it delivers the classic portrait perspective—perfect for close-ups, detail shots, and intimate storytelling.
Despite its professional-grade optics and bright f/1.4 aperture, the L340 is 30% lighter than its EF-mount predecessor, weighing only 636g. Filmmakers and photographers can enjoy seamless transitions thanks to its clickless iris ring, focus breathing suppression, and robust weather-sealed design. The lens is also coated with Canon’s Air Sphere Coating (ASC) to reduce flare and ghosting for superior image quality.
“These new launches reflect Canon’s deep understanding of the diverse needs of today’s creators and production teams,” added Edward Chang, Head of Image Communication Business Division at Canon Marketing Malaysia.
“Whether it’s cinematic filmmaking, dynamic live broadcasting, or intimate hybrid storytelling, we aim to give Malaysian creators the freedom to express their vision without limits.”
Pricing & Availability
The Canon D227 Cinema EOS Camera, CTZ236 Cine-Servo Lens and L340 Hybrid Lens will be available in Malaysia soon. Pricing and detailed availability will be announced at a later date.
NADI WILLER Sdn. Bhd. (NADI WILLER), a provider of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform in Malaysia, is committed to creating a society where people can travel seamlessly even without owning a private car.
By introducing Japanese-quality MaaS, NADI WILLER supplements existing rail and bus systems with its mobi DRT (Demand Responsive Transit) service, delivering seamless journeys using public transportation which reduce car dependency and contribute to easing of traffic congestion.
Addressing Malaysia’s Transport Challenges
Kuala Lumpur city faces serious traffic congestion, particularly due to the lack of reliable first- and last-mile connecting transport. As a result, many have no choice but to rely on private cars, family pick-ups, or e-hailing services.
Public transport usage for mid-distance travel also remains limited. In addition, recent bus accidents have heightened public concern for safety. To address these challenges, NADI WILLER is introducing a MaaS platform that integrates mass transit such as buses and rail with on-demand services like mobi DRT, creating a seamless mobility experience tailored to diverse needs.
Track Record in Malaysia
Since its establishment, NADI WILLER has been operating mobi DRT through its mobile app. As of August 2025, mobi DRT has been deployed in 26 service areas with over 400,000 passengers and more than 100,000 registered members.
According to a recent user survey, more than 88% of riders use mobi DRT as part of their journey to public transport. Before Prior mobi DRT was made available, 47.6% relied on family pick-ups and 24.2% used private cars.
These results demonstrate how mobi DRT is changing mobility behavior—reducing private car use and encouraging a shift towards public transport.

The release of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 marks yet another milestone for Samsung – demonstrating its relentless pursuit of refining AI experiences not just for bar-type smartphones, but reimagining them for the foldable form factor in ways that are both novel and deeply meaningful.
To shed light on Samsung’s vision for intuitive, seamless, and human-centered AI, Matthew Ng, Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Malaysia Electronics, shares the thinking that shaped the quintessential Galaxy AI experience.
1. What separates the Galaxy AI experience from others in the market?
Galaxy AI is not just a set of features – it’s a philosophy. We believe AI is the new UI. It should be ambient, discreet, and essential – working in the background so that our users can focus on what matters most. Our approach is to continually evolve, identifying which services and experiences can be amplified by AI and integrating them directly into the device experience.
Our vision extends far beyond smartphones – AI is becoming a core part of the Galaxy ecosystem, enabling effortless, boundaryless interactions across devices. Our long-standing partnership with Google takes this even further. With Gemini deeply integrated at the hardware level – via intuitive tools like Circle to Search or side-button activation – we make AI instantly accessible and context-aware. It’s not an isolated app; it’s embedded in the way you capture, create, and communicate – on any form factor, anywhere in the Galaxy universe.
2. What is at the core of the Galaxy AI experience?
At its heart, Galaxy AI is about elevating human creativity and productivity. We are excited by Malaysia’s positive reception of Galaxy AI features like Photo Assist, Transcript Assist and Writing Assist, which are available on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 that bring what once required advanced desktop software into the palm of your hands – empowering anyone to shape their ideal content instantly.
On the productivity front, Gemini Live is also a popular feature in Malaysia, connecting local users’ actions across apps: scheduling meetings, syncing calendars, and delivering key updates to the right people – seamlessly, intelligently, and without friction.
On the Galaxy Z Flip7, convenience is the core experience with its new FlexWindow, as the ability to engage with Gemini Live fully is a determining factor for many Malaysians who are constantly on the go.
With One UI 8 on Android 16, multimodal AI is woven into every layer of the experience. Our mission is to make every action more convenient, more personal, and more connected – whether you’re on a Galaxy phone, tablet, or foldable. We aren’t just delivering technology; we’re crafting experiences that adapt to your lifestyle and scale with your ambitions.
3. Is the foldable form factor truly the way forward for Samsung?
For us, foldables aren’t just a technological statement – they’re a design canvas for personalised experiences. The shared foundation of advanced hardware, software, and AI powers both the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 – but each is optimised for a different user journey.
Malaysia is a reflection of users discovering their personal journeys with our devices. Galaxy Z Series users are actively taking advantage of Galaxy AI features 74% of the time. This is a significant indicator that form factor is a conduit that enables possibilities where AI features can be adapted to different lifestyles.
For example, the Galaxy Z Flip7 delivers a compact, expressive experience built for spontaneity and one-handed use. Its expanded FlexWindow brings Now Bar and Now Brief to life, letting you preview your day or capture the perfect shot – without unfolding the device.
The Galaxy Z Fold7, on the other hand, is an immersive productivity powerhouse. With its expansive display, you can dive into deep research in Split View, reference multiple sources without breaking your workflow, and enhance it all with tools like Gemini and Circle to Search. It’s about staying in the flow – gathering, analysing, and creating – without interruption.
4. How does Galaxy AI embody the role of a true AI companion?
A true AI companion should feel intuitive, ever-present, yet never intrusive. On the Z Flip7, Galaxy AI transforms the cover screen into an intelligent dashboard – delivering bite-sized, relevant updates without demanding your full attention.
On the Z Fold7, unfolding the screen also unfolds the full breadth of Galaxy AI: Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, Split Screen workflows, and Gemini Live – all presented where and when you need them.
This adaptability is what makes Galaxy AI a companion rather than a tool – it anticipates, assists, and adapts to the way you naturally work and create.
5. Is this Samsung’s complete vision for Galaxy AI across form factors?
Our vision is never static. While Galaxy AI today is powerful, refined, and ready for users, it is only the beginning. We will continue to innovate, evolve, and redefine what mobile AI can be – shaping new possibilities as technology and user needs grow.
To ensure our users are always future-ready, we provide seven years of software upgrades -continuously enhancing One UI 8 and Galaxy AI with subtle yet meaningful improvements.
We know the future will bring new habits, tools, and expectations. And Samsung is not just prepared for that future – we are building it, exploring new frontiers in mobile innovation and AI with the same boldness that made foldables possible in the first place.
For years, Samsung has led the way in showing how technology can empower everyday life. From smartphones to wearables and now tablets, each innovation is built to help Malaysians work smarter, stay connected, and live more seamlessly.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra became a productivity icon in Malaysia with its expansive 14.6-inch immersive display, Samsung DeX, and the precision of the S Pen, giving professionals, students, and creators the freedom to work and create anywhere.
Productivity that Powered Every Role
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has been embraced as more than just an entertainment device. Professionals relied on it for multitasking with Multi-Active Window and App Pair, turning their tablet into a mobile office. Students used it as a digital notebook during lectures and collaborative projects.
Content creators tapped into its high-resolution screen and creative apps to design, edit, and publish on the go. Families enjoyed it as a shared hub for calendars, video calls, and streaming. The Tab S10 Ultra showed how one slim device could replace many, fitting effortlessly into every lifestyle.
Enter the Next Chapter: Galaxy Tab S11
With the global launch of the Galaxy Tab S11 Series, Samsung is introducing a new chapter in productivity and creativity. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is slimmer and lighter than before, measuring just 5.1mm thin and weighing 692g, making it easier to carry without compromising on performance. Its 1600-nit display ensures clear visibility across different lighting conditions, whether indoors or outdoors.
The series also brings the intelligence of multi-modal Galaxy AI, which includes Gemini Live. This feature allows users to interact with their tablet naturally through voice or text, supporting tasks such as note-taking, research, and schedule management.
At the same time, Samsung DeX continues to provide a desktop-style interface for those who need PC-like productivity without the bulk of a laptop. Completing the experience, the Tab S11 integrates seamlessly into the Galaxy ecosystem, working in harmony with Galaxy smartphones, wearables, and SmartThings devices to support a connected lifestyle.
Positioned as the Go-To Upgrade
For users considering their next upgrade, the Galaxy Tab S11 Series brings together portability, intelligence, and ecosystem connectivity. It builds on the strengths of previous Galaxy tablets while introducing new ways to support productivity, creativity, and everyday use.
The Galaxy Tab S11 Series will be available in Malaysia starting 19 September 2025, marking the next step in Samsung’s vision of delivering smarter, lighter, and more adaptable devices.
