HONOR made a striking return to the National Day Parade in Putrajaya, capturing the attention of over 100,000 spectators with a surprise appearance by its champion humanoid robot, HONOR Robotics D1, with an unlaunched HONOR X9e Pro in a striking dark purple finish, giving spectators an unexpected first glimpse of the next Pilihan Utama Rakyat Malaysia smartphone.

The event also marked a historic milestone for HONOR, as the brand became the first smartphone company to participate as an official parade contingent in Malaysia’s National Day celebration.

D1 led the HONOR contingent of nearly 50 representatives, passing by cheering spectators who were excited to see the robot and X9e Pro. HONOR’s participation highlighted its growing capabilities beyond smartphones, bringing its latest robotics innovation to one of the nation’s most important celebrations.

HONOR X9e Pro appearance stirred nationwide excitement

The HONOR X9e Pro unexpected reveal caught the attention of sharp-eyed spectators and netizens who instantly guessed it was the new X Series model. The HONOR X9e Pro will introduce comprehensive upgrades, building on the X series existing durability. While full details of the smartphone are still under wraps, its bold design and rich dark purple color have already generated anticipation among fans.

HONOR Receives Asia Records Recognition for Historic Robotics Achievement

Meanwhile, the HONOR Robotics D1, was awarded an Asia Records title for achieving the “First Humanoid Robot to Complete a 10KM Public Road Run and March in a National Day Parade.”

The recognition follows D1’s participation in the Malaysia Marathon 2026 in Kuala Lumpur on 30 August, where it successfully completed a 10KM run from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, taking on a route past some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including KL Tower, Menara Maybank, Dataran Merdeka and Petronas Twin Towers. The recognition was presented by Eldrick Koh, Managing Director of ASEAN Records, to Ethan Chen, Chief Executive Officer of HONOR Malaysia.

This also marked the robot’s first appearance outside China after previously breaking the human world record at the Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon, completing the race in just 50 minutes and 26 seconds with a peak speed of 14.5 meters per second.

HONOR Brings Interactive Experiences to National Day Celebrations

Beyond the parade, HONOR continued the excitement at its booth at Dataran Putrajaya, where large crowds gathered to experience the brand’s latest devices and take part in interactive activities. Among the highlights was the HONOR Magic V6 Strongman Challenge, which put participants’ strength to the test as they attempted to hang from a pull-up bar for 60 seconds while putting the smartphone’s hinge durability to the test
