Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today announced a leadership transition in its Southeast Asia operations.

Effective 1 st February 2026, Martin Schulz will become the CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia as well as Head of a newly integrated Southeast Asia Region, encompassing four key markets Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

He succeeds Amanda Zhang, who will remain on the Board of Directors and serve as a Senior Adviser to the company. Over her 20+ year career at Mercedes-Benz, Amanda Zhang has held senior leadership roles across Europe and Southeast Asia, leading organisations through significant transformation.

Under her leadership, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia implemented Southeast Asia’s first Retail of the Future Agency Model and launched the first flagship luxury retail format, Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar, strengthening the customer value proposition through data-driven insights and digitalisation.

She broadened the product portfolio today deliver clear “luxury of choice”, expanded the EV charging ecosystem through strategic partnerships, drove profitable growth in Singapore, and reinforced the regional Go-to-Market strategy.

As a result, the business is well positioned for sustained growth, accelerated electrification, and long-term customer value creation. In her advisory role, she will support strategic continuity and help ensure a seamless transition.

With a career at Mercedes-Benz since 1999, Martin Schulz brings extensive international experience, having held CEO roles in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Romania, complemented by over 10-years in senior management roles across Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea prior to that.

Preceding this appointment, Martin was based in Stuttgart, Germany, the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz serving in various Sales & Marketing functions.
