Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, is kicking off the inaugural Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2024 from 19 July 2024 onwards.

With two qualifying knock-out rounds, the event will culminate in a thrilling finals championship, which is happening during the PCCA weekend from 9 to 11 August 2024.
The Esports challenge invites aspiring racers and gaming enthusiasts to showcase
their talent and passion in the online motorsport arena.

The challenge opens for online entries from 19 July to 21 July 2024, and interested sim-racers can sign up for free by registering at http://pescm.porsche.com.my/.

“We are thrilled to announce our inaugural Esports tournament, the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2024. From the launch of our Sime Darby Racing Team during Porsche Carrera Cup Asia last year, to the high-performance virtual racing series this year, we are continuously seeking to cultivate young local talent and groom the next generation of racers who have the potential to shape the future of motorsports, as we embrace the motorsport DNA that lies at the heart of Porsche,” shared Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer, Sime Darby Auto Performance.

Qualifying and Race Formats

Set on the Assetto Corsa platform and featuring locations along the PCCA tour, participants can sign up for this virtual racing tournament based on three different age categories:
 10 – 14 years old
 15 – 17 years old

 18 years old and above

The first round of qualifying can be done from home or at Porsche Centre Ara Damansara, and is based on a five-lap time-trial format on the virtual Buriram Circuit. The fastest 30 will progress to the second round of qualifiers, which will be held physically on 27 and 28 July 2024 at Porsche Centre Ara Damansara.

During this second qualifying round, participants will receive a personal coaching session, followed by a further 20 minutes of practice on the virtual Suzuka Circuit.

The top 10 finishers with the fastest lap times recorded from a 5-lap time trial will then make it to the finals happening from 9 to 11 August 2024 at Sepang International Circuit.

Thrilling Finals at Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Malaysia 2024

The finals will take place during the Malaysia leg of the PCCA 2024 from 9 to 11 August 2024, with the top 10 finalists going head-to-head in a thrilling sprint race over two days, in parallel with the live-action PCCA races.

Finalists of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia will get a chance to familiarise themselves with the Sepang track during their 30 minutes of free practice before attempting to secure pole position in the 15-minute qualifying session, and up to 10 points per race for overall standings.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia provides the perfect backdrop for the finals. As racing fans converge in Sepang International Circuit for the Malaysia leg of the race, the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2024 will highlight the thrilling integration of virtual and real-world racing, offering a unique platform for the future generation of motorsport.
