President MOPI, Billy Urudraa said, as Malaysia is navigating through third phase of Restricted Movement Order (RMO), the nation is in debt to our frontliners who put their lives at risk in our ongoing battle against COVID-19.

The outbreak so far has taken lives of the loved ones, created disruption in the livelihood of many Malaysians and impacted the economy. We recognize the importance of supporting our frontliners in our collective effort to break the chain of infection and lift our nation free of COVID-19.

As the local pharmaceutical industry, we are honoured to play a small part in the fight against COVID-19. Collectively MOPI members have contributed about RM4 million in various forms contributions to hospitals, universities, villages and first responders.

The item includes ventilators, patient monitors, personal protective equipment (PPE), hand sanitizers, face masks, gloves, disinfectants, food essentials and Malaysian made consumer healthcare products. MOPI members will continue to support our frontliners.

In view of global response to COVID-19, MOPI members are committed in ensuring sustainable supply of medicine in Malaysia throughout the fight against COVID-19.

We thank Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) for their continuous support to the local pharmaceutical industry towards achieving our commitment. We hope for continuous engagement to support our members’ output for the local market and Ministry of Health and together we bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic in our country.
