Gamuda Land brought people together at its Jade Hills Merchant Market Raya bazaar, benefitting five schools by initiating a fundraising programme with an initial donation amounting to a total of RM40,000.
TAGGING on Gamuda Land’s Raya theme, “Dalam Perbezaan, Ada Persamaan”, which focuses on embracing differences amongst one another through Empowerment, Inclusivity and Diversity (E.I.D), the bazaar attracted people from all walks of life to come together as a community and celebrate Raya together.
“Caring for people and the community” has always been a central tenet for Gamuda Land. In conjunction with Jade Hills Merchant Market Raya bazaar, Gamuda Land initiated a fund-raising programme to help the five nearby schools in their daily maintenance and upgrading work.
The programme started with a RM40,000 donation from Gamuda Land that would aid the schools in creating their own platform for fundraising activities.
“At Gamuda Land, we believe in conducting sustainable CSR programs that will have a long-term impact instead of a one-off donation. With this in mind, we have created a fund-raising platform with the goal of empowering our communities,” said Jarrod Ting, General Manager of Jade Hills
This initiative started on 16 June 2019 and will continue until 7 July 2019. The public is also welcomed to participate in the fund-raising efforts by donating to the schools.
The five participating schools are: –
1. Sekolah Kebangsaan (C) Sungai Chua
2. Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Jelok
3. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan Bukit
4. Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Yu Hua
5. Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Bandar Sungai Long
In conjunction with the fundraising initiative, the students of these five schools acted out charming Raya performances during the bazaar, ranging from delightful showcases of traditional songs and dances to exciting martial arts exhibitions.
