New Jaguar F-Pace 2.0L Ingenium SUV set to launch in first quater 2018
JAGUAR Land Rover will be introducing additional powertrain options for the well-received F-Pace SUV after its debut launch of the 3.0-litre supercharged powertrain variant late last year. Set for launch in Q1 of 2018, the new addition, F-Pace 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine variant will offer better comfort and convenience for both the driver and its passengers.
The new 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium powertrain features a twin-scroll single turbo that produces 250PS horsepower and 365Nm of torque from only 1,200rpm. The smooth and responsive petrol engine that powers the F-PACE only produces CO2 emissions of 170g/km in AWD configuration.
Jaguar Land Rover’s family of Ingenium petrol engines employs state-of-the-art technologies delivering benchmark low levels of friction to optimise efficiency and refinement and deploy twin scroll turbos to reduce lag, enhancing power output and efficiency. This engine is made from Aluminium structure, replacing the GTDI RWD powertrain which is used in the China market. The advantages of this engine over the GTDI are improved performance, 15% improvement in fuel efficiency, 4.1 kg lighter and NVH improvements.
Transmissions used in the F-PACE were developed with ZF to deliver unrivalled shift quality and efficiency. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder is mated to a lighter, more compact 8HP45. It also features a state-of-the-art pendulum damper in the torque converter that is extremely effective at absorbing low frequency vibrations, enabling the engines to run at lower speeds without compromising refinement.
The Jaguar F-PACE is a performance SUV designed and engineered to offer the agility, responsiveness and refinement that all Jaguars are renowned for, combined with outstanding dynamics and everyday versatility. It is a five-seater with spacious, luxurious interior featuring premium materials, craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail that gives every Jaguar its unique sense of occasion.
It is also the latest model to benefit from Jaguar’s world-leading expertise in designing and manufacturing aluminium monocoques. Using the Lightweight Aluminium Architecture as the base material, the F-PACE features more aluminium than any competitor (80 per cent) and also include features such as the composite tailgate, magnesium cross-car beam and front-end carrier.
The F-PACE has been designed and engineered for the most stringent global crash test requirements. Achieving these goals while at the same time reducing vehicle weight is a great challenge, but one Jaguar has been able to resolve. 2017 Jaguar F-PACE has been named the winner of the 2017 World Car of the Year and the World Car Design of the Year Awards at the New York International Auto Show.
The performance SUV is also the fastest selling model that Jaguar has ever produced and is only the second vehicle to claim the historic double in the 13-year history of the World Car Awards. To achieve both wins, the F-PACE has to take the competition with the vote of 75 influential motoring journalists from 24 countries.
In Malaysia, the F-PACE has also recently won the 2017 MAI Car of The Year for the SUV and Crossover (RM500,001 – RM700,000 category). It was also awarded Editors’ choice for Most Well Specced Luxury Large-size SUV/Crossover 2017 from The Star’s Carsifu.
The F-PACE 2.0-liter variant is now open for booking at all Jaguar Land Rover showrooms nationwide. Customers are assured of a favourable price for this new variant due to lower excise duty enjoyed for this variant. The pricing of this car will be unveiled during the official launch.
