Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that its latest lineup of QLED TVs has received ‘Real Quantum Dot Display’ certification from TÜV Rheinland, an international
certification organization based in Germany.
The certification verifies that Samsung’s QLED TVs meet global standards for quantum dot display structure, reinforcing the company’s technological leadership in the premium TV market.
The certification confirms that Samsung QLED TVs comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 62595-1-6 standard, which defines the application of quantum dot (QD) light converting unit combined with blue light sources for standard QLED displays.
As part of the certification process, TÜV Rheinland analyzed the light spectrum produced by Samsung QLED TVs and confirmed that it displayed clear separation between red, green, and blue—an important marker of color accuracy.
This distinction is enabled by quantum dots and may not be as pronounced in displays using alternative materials, which can sometimes cause color mixing or reduced clarity. The results demonstrate how Samsung’s use of quantum dots contributes to delivering vivid and precise color expression.
With the latest certification, Samsung’s QLED TVs are officially validated as true quantum dot displays, further differentiating Samsung’s offerings and strengthening consumer trust in premium television technologies.

Kementerian Komunikasi menerusi Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) menganjurkan Hari Telekomunikasi dan Masyarakat Berinformasi Sedunia (WTISD) 2025, Girls in ICT (GICT) serta Ulang tahun ke-160 Kesatuan Telekomunikasi Antarabangsa (ITU) secara serentak pada 17 Mei 2025 lalu.
Ketiga-tiga program berprestij itu telah dirasmikan oleh Menteri Komunikasi, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil yang menyaksikan sambutan dibuat pada 17 Mei setiap tahun, di mana WTISD meningkatkan kesedaran masyarakat mengenai peranan teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi (ICT) dalam pembangunan global serta pembentukan suasana masyarakat lebih inklusif dan saksama, manakala GICT memberi tumpuan kepada pemerkasaan wanita dalam bidang teknologi.
Pada majlis itu turut memberi ruang dan peluang termasuk menghimpunkan pelbagai pihak seperti golongan wanita dan belia sebagai platform untuk meneroka peranan transformasi digital dalam memacu keterangkuman, kesaksamaan jantina dan pembangunan lestari selaras dengan tema WTISD 2025, ‘Kesaksamaan Gender dalam Transformasi Digital’.
Di samping itu, pengisian majlis termasuklah sesi diskusi bertajuk ‘The Future of Connectivity: Advancing Digital Inclusion Through Transformative Technologies’ dan ‘Borderless Connectivity: How ICT Can Drive Sustainability, Equality & Safety’.

Kementerian Pendidikan (KPM) pada masa sama mengetengahkan komitmennya terhadap pendidikan STEM dan mengumumkan bahawa 70 peratus pelajar sekolah dikehendaki mengikuti aliran tersebut mulai 2026.
Setem kenangan khas juga dilancarkan bersempena dengan ulang tahun ke-160 ITU.

Fahmi turut melahirkan harapan dan komited bahawa kerajaan terus memainkan peranan aktif dalam membentuk masa depan yang lebih adil, inklusif dan saling terhubung di samping menerajui kemajuan komuniti digital di peringkat global.
Beliau berkata, hasil usaha cemerlang itu adalah menerusi inisiatif JENDELA (Rangka Kerja Infrastruktur Digital Negara) dan pelaksanaan 5G telah menyediakan platform untuk inovasi dalam pendidikan dalam talian, teleperubatan, automasi industri dan kandungan kreatif tempatan.
Sehingga akhir 2024, 9.03 juta premis telah mempunyai capaian internet berkelajuan tinggi melepasi sasaran 9 juta menjelang 2025.
Liputan internet di kawasan berpenduduk kini 98.66 peratus, dengan kelajuan median jalur lebar 105.36 Mbps. Pelaksanaan 5G pula meliputi 82.4 peratus kawasan berpenduduk, manakala penembusan mudah alih mencapai 61 peratus.
Fahmi turut memaklumkan bahawa SKMM melalui Pusat Sebaran Maklumat Negara (NADI) telah melatih 4,000 usahawan luar bandar. Daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak 85 peratus daripadanya adalah golongan wanita mengikut statistik sehingga Mac 2025.
“Kerajaan mensasarkan untuk memperluas latihan kepada 7,000 peserta tahun ini. Program e-dagang, literasi digital dan modul khusus bagi Orang Asli serta komuniti luar bandar menjadi tunjang usaha memacu ekonomi digital inklusif,” katanya.
