HONOR today announced the winners of the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards for Southeast Asia (SEA) edition. The competition received 978 submissions from students at 22 higher learning institutions and independent designers across the region.

HONOR Talents serves as a global stage for young creators, highlighting how art and technology can blend.

From the competitive pool of entries, 33 talented artists from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia were named winners for their work in adding a creative touch to HONOR’s innovative products. The majority of the designs focused on the Watch and Accessories categories, showcasing the unique styles of these emerging talents.

Ruyi Teoh (ATEC College), Nor Marlina Mukhtar and Ch’Ng Jie Xun (The ONE Academy) were named the Grand Prize winners, each receiving the flagship HONOR Magic8 Pro. Winners in the Second, Third and Judges’ Choice Award for Accessories Prize respectively brought home a HONOR 400 Pro, Pad V9 and Watch 5.

All winners will have the opportunity to see their designs applied on related HONOR products, HONOR Experience Stores, and featured in local and international exhibitions. They will also participate in the “Youth Empowerment” training camp to further develop their skills.

Ruyi’s winning theme, “Ripples of Connection and Harmony” for the Theme category inspired by simple image of standing in the rain among people from all around the world. “The puddles on the ground are like windows.

When we step into them, they reveal scenes of different languages, music, and cultures. Each puddle carries a different story, reminding us that human connection flows beyond borders.”

In the Accessories category, Nor Marlina’s project, “Coral Reefs: Nature’s Unforgettable Masterpiece” pays tribute to the coral reefs that protect coastlines and sustain marine life. She hopes her design serves as a daily reminder to users about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.

“Through vibrant brushstrokes, layered symbolism, and deep storytelling, this piece invites viewers to pause, reflect, and be captivated by nature’s quiet genius.”

The ONE Academy student, Jie Xun created “Glitches of the Rainforest” features native Malaysian flora and endangered wildlife like the Hornbill, Orang Utan and Malayan Tiger. By using digital ‘glitches’ in the design, Jie Xun symbolizes the tension between the loss of nature and the effort to preserve it.

“As technology advances toward conservation, these glitches act as both a warning and a beacon of hope.”

The HONOR Talents Global Design Awards SEA edition challenged participants to explore four distinct themes: Cultural Prosperity, Renewal of Life, Genesis, and Youth Convergence. Submissions were accepted across five categories: Themes, Watches, HONOR Pad Creation, Accessories and Art & Technology.
