The value of cars, homes, investments is often carefully measured, yet the true cost of absence is rarely considered. Today, Volvo Car Malaysia introduces the Selamat Calculator, an interactive reflection exercise developed in partnership with Mr Money TV to drive home the weight of one’s absence and everything it carries.

As part of its life-long commitment to safety, Volvo continues its Selamat mission of empowering and educating Malaysian drivers to make more conscious choices by quantifying what is truly at stake – and reinforcing the importance of being protected when things go wrong.

The Selamat Calculator is designed to turn an unimaginable possibility into a tangible reflection. It asks the difficult question: What happens if you never say, or receive, another “Selamat” again?

Through a series of questions covering age, career, income, dependants, lifestyle, and personal stakes, the experience generates a safety risk profile alongside an estimate of the financial and emotional impact left behind, from transferred financial burdens and interrupted progress to futures left unrealised.

Participants are grouped into one of four life-stage profiles: the backbone of the family, the co-pilot in a partnership, the independent soloist with a future ahead, and the climber who has worked tirelessly to build the life they have today.

More importantly, the self-assessment experience serves as a reminder that the consequences of inattention, complacency, and inaction are not measured only in a split second, but in the unlived moments, unfinished futures, and people we stand to lose if one day we do not make it home.

Kejohanan sulung 1st UPSI Inter-University Kabaddi Championship 2026 melabuhkan tirainya dengan penuh gilang-gemilang apabila berjaya menghimpunkan atlet dan pasukan dari pelbagai institusi dalam serta luar negara menerusi semangat kesukanan dan perpaduan budaya yang cukup luar biasa.

Majlis penutupan kejohanan yang berlangsung meriah itu telah disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Pengerusi Persatuan Kabaddi Perak, Prabakaran Maksvaran dengan kehadiran barisan pegawai sukan universiti, jurulatih, atlet serta para penyokong yang membanjiri gelanggang pertandingan.

Kejohanan anjuran Exco Inisiatif Sukan, Rekreasi & Kecergasan Majlis Mahasiswa Kolej Ungku Omar, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris itu dilaksanakan dengan kerjasama Kabaddi Association of Malaysia, Persatuan Kabaddi Perak, Kelab Kabaddi UPSI, Pusat Sukan UPSI serta South East Asia Kabaddi Federation.

Penganjuran tersebut turut mendapat sokongan pelbagai pihak termasuk Kerajaan Negeri Perak, Starbucks, Hotlink dan Extra Joss sebagai penaja utama kejohanan.

Pengarah Program, Sherraan A/L Kalahiahrasan menyifatkan kejohanan ini sebagai platform terbaik dalam mencungkil bakat baharu serta memperkukuh jaringan persahabatan antara universiti dan negara melalui sukan Kabaddi.

Beliau turut berterima kasih kepada semua pihak yang terlibat dalam penganjuran sulung kejohanan itu di UPSI.

Sementara itu, Prabakaran dalam ucapan perasmiannya berkata, pemain-pemain yang hadir diyakini dapat memberikan saingan sengit antara satu sama lain malah platform ini juga merupakan satu permulaan baru untuk menggilap bakat dan mencari atlet Kabaddi untuk Negeri Perak dan Kebangsaan.

Beliau turut berharap agar kejohanan seperti ini dapat diteruskan lagi supaya sukan Kabaddi diiktiraf dan berkembang seperti sukan-sukan yang lain.

“Kemuncak acara menyaksikan perlawanan akhir kategori lelaki yang cukup mendebarkan antara pasukan Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) dan pasukan Thailand. Aksi sengit yang dipamerkan kedua-dua pasukan berjaya mencuri tumpuan para penonton dengan sorakan bergema memenuhi dewan sepanjang perlawanan berlangsung.

“Bagi kategori wanita, pasukan Thailand muncul juara kejohanan selepas menampilkan aksi konsisten dan bertenaga sepanjang pertandingan. Pasukan Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) dan Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) pula berkongsi tempat ketiga bersama, manakala KVT Wakaf Tembusu Terengganu muncul sebagai naib juara.

“Kategori lelaki menyaksikan pasukan Thailand merangkul johan kejohanan, diikuti pasukan UTeM dinobat sebagai Naib Johan, manakala KVT Wakaf Tembus Terengganu dan Multimedia Universiti (MMU) masing-masing menduduki tempat ketiga bersama.

Dalam pada itu, beberapa atlet turut menerima pengiktirafan khas atas prestasi cemerlang mereka sepanjang kejohanan berlangsung. Atlet Thailand, Diana Deesalarm dan Pootawun Poocahong dinobatkan sebagai Best Raider, manakala Thevatharshini dari UPSI dan Laksshmaman Thiagarajan menerima anugerah Best Defender.

Sementara itu, Thanyalak Benrit serta Wisat Wuttari dari Thailand membawa pulang gelaran Most Valuable Player (MVP) kategori lelaki dan wanita.

Kejohanan ini menawarkan hadiah wang terkumpul sejumlah RM9,000.00. RM2,000.00 (Johan), Naib Johan RM1,500.00 dan ketiga bersama masing-masing menerima RM500.00 beserta medal, sijil dan trofi kejuaraan. Canon Launches EOS R6 V – First-Ever L-Series Power Zoom Lens

Canon Marketing Malaysia (Canon) today announced a new content creation kit comprising the EOS R6 V, a new full-frame camera, and the accompanying RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ, a first-ever full-frame professional-grade L-series lens that comes with a built-in power zoom.

The EOS R6 V possesses the powerful stills and video performance of the EOS R6 Mark III in a body that has been optimised for video content creation. The upgrades include a built-in cooling fan and a social media content-friendly vertical tripod socket.

Its full-frame CMOS sensor, with up to 32.5 effective megapixels and 7K Open Gate recording, allows users to utilise the full field of view of ultra-wide-angle lenses, opening different possibilities.

The RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ pairs effortlessly with the EOS R6 V, giving you a compact, travel-friendly setup that doesn’t compromise on versatility. The 20–50mm zoom range covers everything from wide environmental shots to tighter conversational framing, while the built-in Power Zoom keeps transitions smooth and cinematic. More Platforms, Less Sweat

The EOS R6 V features 7K Open Gate RAW/MP4 shooting, which records video via the entire sensor area. With this, the new camera offers creators more flexibility over what goes into the frame when repurposing horizontal content into a vertical format. Users achieve more creative control without having to do multiple shoots.

The EOS R6 V’s built-in cooling fan also allows users to record in 7K Open Gate MP4 for approximately three times longer when compared to the EOS R6 Mark III. This makes the EOS R6 V ideal for long interviews, live events, or long single takes.

The EOS R6 V is built natively for vertical content. A dedicated vertical tripod socket delivers direct, stable mounting without the need for an extra bracket, while the UI automatically reorientates to match, keeping the shooting experience seamless from start to finish. Its linear design with minimal protrusions also integrates cleanly with rigs, attachments and accessories.

Make Your Videos Dynamic

Both the EOS R6 V and RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ are compact and lightweight, making them easy to use while on the move. With built-in image stabilisation, they are also easy to use handheld or on a gimbal and rig.

The EOS R6 V’s built-in five-axis sensor-shift image stabilisation system (In-Body IS) and Digital Movie IS coordinate with the RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ’s Optical IS to stabilise footage shot on the go.

The setup also supports the Subject Tracking IS mode, which accounts for the subject position during stabilisation. The EOS R6 V retains a large, ergonomic grip that offers comfort and a stable hold during handheld shooting.

The RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ’s 20mm wide-end is ideal for stunning, and perspective-rich establishment shots. These can show plenty of context, including stunning interior scenes. Additionally, its 50mm long end offers a 0.24m minimum focusing distance that captures close-up shots with a natural perspective.

Users can make use of the zoom ring or the EOS R6 V’s zoom lever to zoom seamlessly from one end to the other in one smooth take. They can also vary the degree of ring/lever movement to alternate between two zoom speeds. Fast and slow zooming are configurable up to 15 levels each.

A new zoom mode selector switch enables switching between power zooming and the familiar manual zoom operations found on conventional zoom lenses. The lens barrel length does not change when zooming, so support systems will not require rebalancing.

Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd (ATM), pengedar sah trak Foton di Malaysia merubah landskap logistik bandar dengan pelancaran Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT baharu di Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2026 (MCVE 2026) hari ini.

Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT menjadi trak tugas ringan jenama China pertama di Malaysia yang dilengkapi dengan Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), direka untuk pertukaran gear lancar, mengurangkan kelesuan pemandu, dan penggunaan bahan api lebih baik dalam
pemanduan stop-and-go di bandar raya.

Ia diperkenalkan sebagai tindak balas kepada peningkatan permintaan dalam penghantaran peringkat akhir, keperluan terhadap trak cekap penggunaan bahan api dan mesra pemandu, serta permintaan untuk kebolehpercayaan dan masa beroperasi tinggi.

Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT baharu menampilkan enjin Cummins ISF 3.8-liter yang terbukti, kini dengan standard Euro 5 termaju untuk pelepasan lebih bersih. Enjin empat-silinder turbo ini menghasilkan 154 PS pada 2,600 rpm dan 500 Nm tork dari 1,200 ke 1,900 rpm.

Kuasa disalurkan ke roda belakang melalui transmisi AMT enam-kelajuan ZF yang dibangunkan untuk menambah baik produktiviti serta kecekapan operasi. Rangkaian kuasa enjin Euro 5 dan AMT baharu ini memfokuskan terhadap kos penyelenggaraan rendah melalui sela masa servis yang panjang dan penggunaan bahan api lebih rendah.

Dari segi utiliti, Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT direka khas untuk logistik moden, menawarkan kebolehan kargo versatil, reka bentuk praktikal, dan kemudahan penggunaan. Ini membolehkan pengguna menguruskan pelbagai operasi penghantaran dengan produktiviti dan fleksibiliti lebih baik.

Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT berukuran 6,930 mm panjang, 2,060 mm lebar, dan 2,250 mm tinggi. Ia mempunyai jarak roda 3,800 mm dengan berat kasar kenderaan (GVW) dari 7,500 kg hingga 9,900 kg.

Untuk keselamatan pula, Aumark S yang diperbaharui ini dilengkapi dengan beberapa sistem terkini. Ia merangkumi Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) untuk prestasi brek meyakinkan dalam semua situasi, Anti-Slip Regulation yang mengawal gelinciran tayar di permukaan licin untuk kawalan lebih baik, dan Hill Start Assist untuk mengelakkan trak terundur di jalan curam serta memastikan mula-gerak yang lancar seterusnya mengurangkan beban pada pemandu.

Merupakan produk “Super Truck Global Innovation Alliance”, trak tugas ringan ini juga dibina pada struktur badan tegar yang menepati standard antarabangsa seperti ECE R29 yang

Alliance Bank Strengthens SME Financing Relief to Support Business Continuity Amid Heightened Uncertainty

Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (Alliance Bank) is accelerating its support for Malaysian businesses by participating in Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) SME Stabilisation Relief Facility (SME SRF).

This dedicated financing access is designed to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs), including micro-enterprises, in navigating the economic challenges arising from the ongoing West Asia conflict.

The SME SRF is part of a broader RM5 billion financing initiative established by BNM to help viable businesses manage short-term cash flow disruptions. Under this facility, eligible SMEs can access financing of up to RM750,000 for a tenure of up to five years, at a maximum financing rate of 3.75% per annum, inclusive of guarantee fee, and backed by a guarantee of up to 80% from either Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) or Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP).

Alliance Bank Group Chief Executive Officer, Kellee Kam said, “Malaysian SMEs demonstrate remarkable agility and remain the backbone of our economy, sustaining businesses and communities nationwide.

“We recognise many are operating in a challenging environment, with rising costs and ongoing uncertainties affecting daily operations. Through the SME Stabilisation Relief Facility, we aim to inject timely liquidity and provide practical support to help businesses strengthen resilience, manage cash flow and meet financial commitments.

“Beyond financing, we equip customers with digital solutions and advisory support, and encourage those facing financial pressures to reach out early to explore available relief options.”

This initiative complements Alliance Bank’s existing and comprehensive ecosystem of SME solutions. The Bank offers a wide range of tailored financial products designed to address immediate liquidity needs and support business continuity, including SME Express Financing, which provides quick access to working capital with collateral-free financing of up to RM500,000.

Together with its holistic advisory support and digital capabilities, Alliance Bank remains committed to empowering SMEs with timely, accessible and practical solutions to help them recover, adapt, and grow with resilience.

Applications for the SRF are open from 15 May 2026 until 31 December 2026, or until the facility is fully utilised, whichever occurs first. Eligible business owners are encouraged to apply through Alliance Bank’s nationwide network of branches, via the Bank’s official website or through their dedicated relationship managers.
