Seven years ago, Samsung set out to redefine what a smartphone could be. At the time, foldable devices represented more than a new category of technology. They represented a question: could a smartphone become fundamentally different from the slab we had known for decades?
Could a device change its shape to change the way we live, work, create and experience content?
Samsung believed the answer was yes. Today, as we introduce the latest Galaxy Z8 Series in Malaysia, that belief has evolved into years of innovation, engineering and learning. We are in our eighth year of pushing boundaries, listening to consumers and challenging ourselves to imagine what comes next.
Our journey has never been about creating a device that simply folds. It has been about creating experiences that could not exist on a conventional smartphone. Innovation, after all, is not about technology for technology’s sake. It is about using technology to unlock experiences that were previously impossible.
This philosophy is particularly evident in the evolution of our foldable portfolio. While Galaxy Z Fold has continually redefined what a foldable smartphone can be, this year marks an exciting new chapter in that journey with the introduction of a new foldable form factor with the Galaxy Z Fold8.
It is not simply another variation of an existing design. It represents a new category within foldables, created around a different way of experiencing mobile content.
