HONOR, a global leading AI device ecosystem company, is stepping into the spotlight of Malaysian cinema.
Through a new collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), HONOR has been named the Official Cinematic Imaging Smartphone Partner of the 35th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM35), with the awards ceremony scheduled to take place at Istana Budaya on 21 November 2026.
Dual Cinematic Endorsement: Global and Local
The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max brings together the endorsement of two influential names in the world of filmmaking. Its imaging system is co-engineered with ARRI, the renowned company behind the cinema camera technology trusted by Hollywood filmmakers.
While its partnership with FINAS, Malaysia’s national film agency, sees it named the Official Cinematic Imaging Smartphone of FFM35.
While ARRI brings world-class cinematic expertise to its imaging capabilities, FINAS brings recognition from the institution dedicated to championing Malaysian cinema. Together, these partnerships position the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max as more than just a smartphone with advanced camera capabilities.
Globally engineered and locally endorsed, the device is designed to bring the language of cinema into the hands of creators, both in Malaysia and around the world.
HONOR’s 10th-Anniversary Flagship: Magic9 Pro Max
The Magic9 Pro Max marks HONOR’s flagship smartphone 10th anniversary, bringing a decade of Magic innovation together in one device. As HONOR’s biggest upgrade to date, it represents a major leap forward in imaging, design and much more.
- Imaging takes the biggest leap. Co-engineered with ARRI, the camera system goes beyond capturing great pictures to bringing cinematic storytelling. It delivers true-to-life colours and skin tones, rich cinematic tones, and videos that look professionally graded rather than simply recorded. Built to capture motion with precision, it keeps fast-moving subjects sharp and steady, as Malaysians have already witnessed at Sepang.
- Design takes a bold new direction. Breaking away from the signature circular camera module of the previous generation, HONOR introduces a refreshed design identity that signals a new chapter for its flagship lineup.
- And that’s just the beginning. The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max also brings flagship-level performance and the long-lasting battery that helped propel the Magic9 Series to success in China, with even more innovations set to be unveiled at Malaysia launch. A decade of Magic has led to this moment. And something big is coming.Cinema Standards Now in Your PocketARRI’s name has been widely recognised for its award-winning cinematography for generations. The vision is simple yet bold: Everyone can be the director of their own life.
- Already Proven at Full SpeedMalaysians have already had a glimpse of what the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max can do. During recent motorsport events at Sepang International Circuit, photos and videos captured using the device garnered attention online, showcasing its ability to capture high-speed action with remarkable clarity while preserving the atmosphere and emotion of every moment. If the smartphone can capture the intensity of the racetrack, it is ready to take on the red carpet.Built for the Long RunFFM35 is just the opening scene, not the final cut. Together with FINAS, HONOR is looking beyond the award ceremony to establish a long-term collaboration aimed at making a lasting contribution to Malaysia’s creative and filmmaking industry.
