Sunzen Biotech Bhd is expanding its health care division by partnering with Xmegami Sdn Bhd to manufacture the latter’s health and beauty products.

Founded in 2017, Xmegami is a low-capital internet start-up platform. It has a multi-level marketing license and over 2,000 Malaysian members who sell its line of contract manufacturing health and beauty products.

The five-year-old company intends to collaborate with Sunzen to manufacture the products for quality control and improvement. Ecolite Biotech Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Sunzen, has formed a joint venture with Xmegami.

The joint venture will manufacture the products at Sunzen’s healthcare facility in Shah Alam, Selangor, under the terms of the agreement.

The factory is currently producing products for Sunzen, but a portion of it will be converted to run Xmegami production lines.

Sunzen’s managing director and chief executive officer, Teo Yek Ming, stated in a statement that this collaboration transforms Ecolite from a traditional to a modern healthcare company, marking a milestone for the Sunzen Group in the healthcare industry.

Ecolite combines ingredients in modern facilities to create formulas based on traditional recipes in order to popularise nutrition and make it easier for the general public to obtain nutrition and stay healthy.

Original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and original design manufacturing (ODM) services are provided by the company in accordance with GMP, HACCP, MeSTI, VHM, and JAKIM Halal certification standards.

Teo stated that the Ecolite-Xmegami collaboration will complete Sunzen’s ecology in the human health care industry while also significantly contributing to the group’s overall business.

Cheong Sheue Xin, the director of Xmegami, hopes that this collaboration will result in more effective health products for consumers.

She said that the Kota Kemuning plant’s top priority will be product formulation and quality development.
