MyAngkasa Az Zahra Sdn Bhd (MyAngkasa Az Zahra) an online shariah compliant financing platform, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Amal by Malaysia Airlines, a pilgrim-centric service dedicated for Hajj and Umrah.

The agreement was signed between Hazman Hilmi Sallahuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Amal and Kartini Mohd Basri, Chief Operating Officer of MyAngkasa Az Zahra.

The signing was witnessed by Prof. Madya Dato’ Dr Abdul Rahman Abdul Razak Shaik, Vice President of ANGKASA, and Bandar Al-Rajhi, Director of Al-Rajhi Saudi Group.

Through this partnership, the parties intend to collaborate in developing attractive and affordable Umrah pilgrimage travel packages specifically designed for Malaysian civil servants & GLC as first of its kind via salary deduction under the Sistem Potongan Gaji Angkasa (SPGA).

This is achieved primarily via innovative and affordable travel packages to be offered by Amal together with its appointed travel agent(s), as well as attractive financing options offered by MyAngkasa Az Zahra.

Through the collaboration, Malaysian civil servants will have the option to pay as low as RM100 per month over 5 years through a salary deduction scheme and its solely dedicated for the Umrah travel packages which can’t be utilized for other purposes.

Kartini Mohd Basri, COO of MyAngkasa Az Zahra said “Effective 1 January 2018, civil servants are eligible for unrecorded leave to perform their umrah for up to seven days for the entire duration of service.

The collaboration between Amal by Malaysia Airlines and MyAngkasa Az Zahra, especially the affordable salary deduction scheme is a good opportunity to encourage civil servants to utilize the leave privilege given to them, without having to take out a huge amount from their savings to perform Umrah.”

“This also will be a best solution to avoid any fraud cases involve umrah & hajj packages nowadays”. “For the first year targeted commitment, we’re looking at 60% of 250,000 annual umrah enrolment and to encourage the young civil servant market to perform Umrah with a shariah compliance scheme”.
