Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (SHARP) remains a prominent brand in households and offices across Malaysia, netting two awards at the 2019 Putra Brand Awards. The electronics and electrical giant won the silver award for the Personal, Household and Outdoor Appliances category.
SHARP was also recognised for the first time in the Cameras, IT and Office & Business Equipment category, taking home the bronze award.

SHARP has placed Malaysia on the map by promoting made-in-Malaysia products to the world. In addition to supplying to the Malaysian market, SHARP products manufactured in Malaysia are exported to markets around Asia, including Japan.
The Sharp brand in Malaysia is supported by Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, located in Hicom Shah Alam, which manages the sales and service of Sharp products; S&O Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd (SOEM) located in Sungai Petani, Kedah, which manufactures and sells audio devices; and Sharp Manufacturing Malaysia located in Johor Bahru, which manufactures television panels; 20% of its production is supplied to the Malaysian market, and 80% is exported to Asia, including Japan.
