Malaysia today. The brand’s relevance in the market is supported by the trust of consumers
rooted in SHARP’s experience spanning 35 years and our drive to innovate. Ultimately, we want to add value to our customers and contribute towards improving their daily lives.

“I believe this recognition is a positive sign that we are heading in the right direction,” said Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Robert Wu.

Staying relevant in today’s competitive environment, SHARP ensured its strategy remained
aligned with the needs of technology-savvy consumers. The brand continues to lead the
application of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) technology through its total smart life
solutions in Malaysia comprising Smart Office, Smart Education, Sharp Signage and Smart

SHARP’s top of mind recall among consumers, which resulted in recognition at the 2019 Putra Brand Awards, is further supported by the brand’s ability to produce people-oriented
and user-friendly appliances and devices.

SHARP has placed Malaysia on the map by promoting made-in-Malaysia products to the world. In addition to supplying to the Malaysian market, SHARP products manufactured in Malaysia are exported to markets around Asia, including Japan.

The Sharp brand in Malaysia is supported by Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, located in Hicom Shah Alam, which manages the sales and service of Sharp products; S&O Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd (SOEM) located in Sungai Petani, Kedah, which manufactures and sells audio devices; and Sharp Manufacturing Malaysia located in Johor Bahru, which manufactures television panels; 20% of its production is supplied to the Malaysian market, and 80% is exported to Asia, including Japan.

At the forefront of the industry, SHARP is also the pioneer in 8K technology. This advancement in high definition visuals has the potential to develop an ecosystem with far reaching benefits in the medical, security, entertainment, education, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 5G technology fields.

This attracted the attention of Tourism Malaysia which resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Joint Collaboration Partnership with SHARP to jointly produce the world’s first 8K Ultra High Definition (UHD) Visit Truly Asia Malaysia 2020 promotional videos for global consumption.
